I can't believe I've found this video, because I was at this very same show!!!! This was held inside a small art gallery of all places in Berkeley CA, and we sat in metal folding chairs that were set up around what was an elevated presentation area that served as the stage. There must have only been about 50 people there since it wasn't advertised too much. I think they jammed for about 1 or 2 hours. Too bad the portion where Buckethead slaps on a bass is missing, because it was epic! Maximum Bob was all over the place like he owned it, and they did some portions of Deli Creep tunes, along with a lot of avant garde improv. My buddy Doug was friends with Buckethead, and he took me around the back of the place after the show, and I got to meet the man behind the mask. A great night I will never forget, and grateful to have found this footage! Thank you NatterNet for posting this!
My pleasure, brother. In fact, it was Doug who the footage came from (it was the full thing but I trimmed it down as, coz ya know, peoples attention span these days is terrible). Been speaking to Doug, he has some cool stuff stored away so we're working some stuff out. A very odd off the cuff show for sure, very glad it exists and awesome that you were there. Woo!!
I love this whole thread, look how bucket brings ppl together. Guy might be the closest thing to an interdimensional figure ive ever found. Here and everywhere all while being nowhere.

Nah but seriously, thank u so much for sharing this 💚 Just have a question if BucketHead appears without the bucket on how do you name him then? mr.sexyHair? Woooooo 🤔😜
It always amazes me how he had such complete command of the whole guitar even at a very early age. His playing often, and here especially, reminds me of Hendrix in the way that he just is some comfortable with the whole guitar and can just do anything he wants with it. I think both of them essentially lived with their guitars in hand at all times, so it makes sense. As a guitarist, I can play a guitar, but I have to hold it right and do things in a fairly formal way. He can just do whatever he wants with it, and was able to very early on. Its amazing.
It’s crazy buckethead came from here and ended up composing such well organized prog metal albums and fitting in perfectly with the jazz fusion albums like population and Eden. Way too underrated. That’s a long career. He’s the LeBron James of guitar.

Awesome stuff! MB is always super entertaining & engaging w the crowd. Seeing B try to get the stutter effect w the toggle switch, you can really tell the kill switch was gonna become a big part in transforming his playing & signature sound. Funny how he was big into whammy bars early on then (mostly) gave them up in favor of the effect pedal. Thanks for this upload brother, was such a treat! Woo!!
Amen to all that, brother, and thank you! That toggle switch would be long dead if he stuck with it, long live the killswitch! Would love to see that ESP make a come back just to hear the whammy again, I assume he used a similar one on Pike 11, unless he moded a Gibson, highly unlikely on that though, a Gibson with a whammy just looks dirty 😜WOO!!
Yes, excellent indeed. I think every rock guitarist was into using the whammy after EVH made it a staple in late 70s. Bucket eventually found his way and carved out some unique playing. Imagine what he might do on the piano...😀

Maximum Bob is not as big as he wouid be later on, that is 376 lbs big (I think it's due to Herbie introducing Headcheese to him, how Maximum Bob could find his strength), but he can really sing - Herbie probably could sing too, but he has to do it without lungs so we don't get to see it too often, which is a shame! Buckethead rules in this! Woo!!

Woo!!
haha Bob needed those big lungs and I guess the weight gain was due to all those beautiful days and beautiful nights at the slaughterhouse. Woo!!
@@NatterNet Hahaaa Maximum Bob and Herbie at the slaughterhouse, what stories of meatloaves and gluttony, we never get to hear! Woo!!
I love the power of Bobs voice
@@mattpfarr5992Yes, It really is a great strong voice!

Wow
Thank you for sharing this but why aren't we talking about the fact he is not wearing a bucket???
My pleasure, friend. And I guess its because if we acknowledge it, then we have to call him 'head' and that just doesnt work haha Woo!!
rare to see bucketless buckethead

I wonder if there is a video of him recording the albums 'Electric Tears'and'Colma'?
No, no videos of those unfortunately.
@@NatterNet would have been amazing. Or even recorded parts or songs that didn't make it on the album. I'm sure that's still stored away somewhere.
