Sylvain you are an amazing ambassador for the home sewer! Thank you so much for the detailed question and answer session. Please do this again. The depth of your sewing knowledge is a wealth of valuable information!
Your UA-cam videos are the reason I went out and bought my first-ever Bernina sewing machine in 2021 (followed by the 770 QE Plus as soon as it was out here!). Esp the "How a stitch is made" and "What is the difference bw dual feed & a walking foot" info. Thank you for your special Sylvain videos - so detailed, enthusiastic & useful out the wazoo!
Hello! Another fun chat to listen to while I hand quilt! I just want you to know how much I enjoy your channel's content. I hope you have a wonderful week ahead! Thank you for sharing this video and your time.
I know there is an excellent video that Sylvain made concerning threading the 700 series machines. It was excellent and the best instruction I have ever seen on this subject. However, despite numerous online searches using different search criteria, I have not been able to find this video again. Can you help with a link to this, please? Many many thanks in advance.
Your webinars are brilliant Sylvain, much appreciated 😃🐱⭐️ Any advice on why Wonderfil Deco Bob 80wt seems to be shredding before it gets to my needle, you can see the thread has separated into strands. With foot up and pulling on the thread there is quite a bit of resistance. I have rethread many times to try and find the problem, but can’t work it out. I have lowered the foot pressure to 50 to try and help, and put the spool on Bernina thread stand, helps for a while, then it starts again.
You might try a thread net or some thread lubrication to help with the thread shredding. I would also recommend reaching out to WonderFil for some tips. I believe this thread was primarily intended to be used on the bobbin.
Thank you for your feedback. Here is some info in the meantime. www.bernina.com/en-US/Accessories-US/Embroidery-Accessories/Embroidery-Modules/BERNINA-Embroidery-Module-L-SDT
I have a Bernina 880+. Some threads need to be on a horizontal thread spool. The 880+ does not have that horizontal thread spool holder. What are the other alternatives?
There is an optional accessory spool holder that clamps onto the vertical spool pin to create a horizontal thread delivery. Please connect with your local dealer for this part.
I have a B570 QE SE. The manual indicated that there is a 1300 decorative stitch file. It is located with the other files. Where can I find this file? I am mainly looking for the quilting stitches.
I have a 780 which I love, why is this machine ignored when talking about the 700 series? It would be interesting to know the difference as I really cannot justify spending more money on changing my machine
Thanks for you feedback. For the most part, the B 780 is like the B 790 machine in the current line. There were some updates made to the hook system and software that will make for some variation in how the two machines work and some features they have. Please let us know if you have a specific feature you need more info on and we will do our best to get you an answer.
The machine will read an embroidery file type called "exp" If you have software on your computer and a CD drive you can save the designs from the older OESD CD onto a USB stick that your machine will read. This can be done with artlink software- located here: www.bernina.com/en-US/Software-US/Embroidery-Software/BERNINA-Embroidery-Software-9/BERNINA-ARTlink-9
@@Pip7-px3wq Yes- you can open and export embroidery designs with this free software. With BERNINA ARTlink 9 you can open a range of native ART files and many other embroidery file formats. It includes a wide range of standard hoops to select from.
My original walking foot I bought for my Bernina 200E seems to work well on my 880+. But you mentioned in a video that it shouldn’t be used. Can you explain why?
I have the old walking foot and use it on my 740. The dual feed interferes with the guide bars but if i need to use a guide bar, i have secured it to the foot with masking tape. Works fine.
Hi Kevin, here's a playlist with a series of videos on the BERNINA E 16: ua-cam.com/play/PLfT1DJU1aElorgVs15Xusx3GHJS-4n9lH.html We hope this will help. Please get in touch with your BERNINA partner for additional support.
I have a 570 QE and have been using Gutterman thread. I have issues with the thread catching on the edge of the spool when used on the horizontal spool pin resulting in a gear jam alert, not to mention messing up my stitches. I've moved the spool to the vertical spool pin but am wondering if anyone else is experiencing this with Gutterman thread and what other solutions have been tried.
I have had this happen too because the spool has more pronounced grooves on the ends of the spool- but only on one side (if I recall correctly). Try placing the spool on in the opposite direction.

GREAT information. Have you ever shown the difference between the 97D foot and the 57 (or 57D) foot?
Thank you for the feedback- we will pass it along to the Education team.

Can you do a video showing the new SDT module to know if it's worth getting?

@@BerninaInternational Thank you, I've seen this, but had hoped you'd done a video.
Are the videos that are on Bernina USA facebook available on Bernina’s website, as I don’t use facebook? 🙂
Some videos are also here on UA-cam. Facebook live recordings only live on Facebook- sometimes on the we all sew blog.

I would like to know how to use the BSR to couch. Since I missed the live session, maybe you can cover this in a future video.

These stitches are in a special menu- the tab on the right directly under the buttonhole stitches (looks like a checkered patchwork).

Sylvain said no hemmers will do ? I didn;t catch the word - ways it polysomething?
Pretty sure he said there is ni hemmer that will work on "Polar Fleece"
Thank you.
My original walking foot I bought for my Bernina 200E seems to work well on my 880+. But you mentioned in a video that it shouldn’t be used. Can you explain why?
You cannot use the guides that attach to the older version because the dual feed mechanism interferes.

Will a Maxie Snap Hoop work on my B770 QE?
Yes I have one for mine.
I am not familiar with this hoop.
