APPLE Pie Day 1 - Soak a good handful of sultanas (or whatever you call dried grapes) in Calvados (APPLE Brandy) - the longer they soak, the better. If the kids haven't been weaned off soft drinks yet make a second pie just for them and soak the sultanas in boiling water letting it go cold overnight. Quickly put the rest of the Calvados into a cupboard before you drink it all.... Day 2 - Peel, core and cut into big chunks 6 large APPLEs. Cook the chunks in good APPLE juice, with some ground cinnamon to taste (optional), until just tender. Place the APPLEs and the Calvados-soaked sultanas, together with all the liquids, in a pie dish and cover with short-crust pastry. Sprinkle the top with dark brown sugar. Put the pie into a medium oven (about 180°C) until the pastry is golden and the sugar has melted. Serve with custard/crème anglaise. Most importantly, invite me over for a tasting or I'll sulk....

If you have to go to the ER here, you should expect to be there a minimum of six hours, at least here in Alabama. I hope your daughter is ok. They say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree... So how far does a candy apple go? Just wondering.... 😅😅😅😅😅😅
