The stage is also arranged very clever. The lights remind a boat outline shape. The background showing the waters to remind of the ferry sinking tragedy. The cherry b;ossom petals falling, some small like in the background, some bigger, reddish like candle lights for the fallen... :-( Song SoHee is not just singing, she is piecing your heart with this performance. 1st time I didn't know the lyrics (I've read them rom BTS clip) but it didn't matter. It is not a song, it is a full story that goes to your heart! Her voice control is beyond of this world. The last note - how can she hold it for so long, unbelievable!!!

This song is about the Sewol tradgedy... It was a ferry going from South Korean mainland to Jeju Island in 2014 carrying a lot of school children. It sunk, leaving little survivors and devasted families from losing their children. Truly heartbreaking, this song represents the grief and sadness perfectly.
On April 16, 2014, hundreds of high school students died in the sinking of Ferry Sewol. 'Spring Day' is a song dedicated to the souls of young students who died in Ferry Sewol.

There is a 12 minute interview before the show with all 7 members of BTS about their relationship with their producer PDogg and their expectations of the 6 performers covering their biggest hits. BTS thought Spring day would be something really special with Song So-Hee singing it. So-Hee won Korea's National Singing competition 12 years ago at the age of 11 years old. Now at age 23 years she is in National Icon/National Treasure territory. This performance of Spring Day was captivating, heart warming and endearing from start to finish. A beautiful rearrangement from one of Korea's most successful producers, PDogg, which shows his versatility as a music producer and not just of BTS, "the Nations Boy Group" and Time Magazine Entertainer of the Year for 2020 (congratulations BTS). What I really loved about 5 of the 6 acts on KBS Immortal Songs is that they are not K-pop acts and this shows the diversity and depth of the Korean Recordimg Industry. As for the 9 member debut k-pop idol group, BAE173, they had a big set of shoes to fill covering BTS 2016 hit "I need you". They came runners-up on this show, so they seemed to have connected with the audience. The winner was Son Seungyeon (ft. Alexa) version of DNA. RM expected this vocal to absolutely rock..Seungyeon is currently recording her first studio album in 8 years and on V and V's friends list of artists they wish to see perform live.
I don't know if I am imagining stuff, the sadness is overpowering but there are very subtle hints of defiance, determination even some anger in her voice. Those who are accountable known or unknown for the Sewol ferry tragedy are not going to enjoy the rest of their life that remains. You have awoken more than a million hearts & minds all around the world. Be ready for your comeuppance! It is nigh!
