Making the Sign of the Cross - How to: Anglican

Have you ever thought about "crossing yourself?" Christians have been doing it since the time of the apostles. Today, I'm going to talk about how to do it and why you might want to try it out.

I came to the end of what contemporary Christianity had to offer - my choices were agnosticism or to find something deeper. I felt there must be something out there that was relevant to our work-a-day lives; something that could embrace both mystery and truth; something that could make sense of the experience of the highest forms of art as well as scrubbing the bathroom toilet.
I get glimpses of that way every now and then.
I am an Anglican priest working on the South Texas border, a spiritual director and chaplain, a small business owner, an artist, and someone who has struggled with spiritual doubt for much of my life. I work with people around the country as they explore matters of ultimate concern. I enjoy looking into things, learning about them, and reporting back what I find.
This channel is about all these things and my generally unsuccessful attempt at offering a compelling expression of a Christian life lived along the way of Jesus.

Is habitual prayer a man made tradition? That’s all the sign is. I seem to remember a lot of habitual prayer in the Bible. This is simply another way to remind ourselves of the truths about God and scripture. Blessings.
