Unless you were a kid in the 80's/90's, you won't know how much this guy's music meant to our childhood. Fantastic memories of C64 days. Thanks, Ben... may you rest in peace.
waiting for the Commodore 64 tapedeck to load the game… 📼
@@thebroham5239 Still ?
Guys? We’re still alive ❤😂
@Tommy Rytkönen artist isn't though sadly
C64 in the 90s Kid here, I had all 3 The Last Ninja titles 👍 actually I still have my Disk collection until today, but I guess they won't work anymore 😅
The games is over, but the music stays.
R.I.P. Ben Daglish
Are you serious? Ben Daglish have passed sadly away a few days ago
His wife posted it on Facebook. Unless she was lying, which I highly doubt she would do, then Ben is unfortunately gone.
Yes, Sarah posted on Facebook - Ben passed away on the 1st of October, :( :( :(
I met Daglish only months before passing. He said to me. Wow. People still use real camera? Out of respect of a legend i used real camera and not a phone camera. I will always remember what Daglish told me in person forever.
@@V3ntilator What did He tell you in person? Can you share it?
Can't believe I've been listening to this for 40 years 🤣. RIP Ben
"Ladies and gentlemen, Ben Daglish. Give a big applause." - I will, always. One of the absolute best, with a beautiful mind of his own and creative talent that I will always miss. He looks so frail in this concert, but the passion and the power he has is unbelievable.
Only a Ninja can kill another Ninja. To cross the river, you must jump three times. To climb the wall, you must not stop.
Gives me the goosbumps when watching this. RIP Ben Daglish. Will forever be missed!
RIP Ben, your music lives on forever!
My time grounded....that was a blessing in the 80s.....LOVE Your Art !........R.I.P....This stay always with Me.
Last Ninja on c64 never forgotten :)
Bloody Awesome!!!!! Rest In Peace you genius of a man.
Playing the transverse flute on a stage has never been this cool. RIP Ben, and God bless your soul wherever it is!
I disagree, check out every Ian Anderson performance
RIP legend. You've touched hearts of many.
Unbelievable....when i was 10 years old i was amazed by the soundtrack of the game, 30 years later i still get a goose skin! What a great soundtrack!
Same here. I was absolutely crap at the game (I only got to the second level), but I'd load it just to listen to the wonderful music.
Ben’s best work, and so lovely to hear him playing his flute. Goosebumps, exactly.
I was 17 when I first heard this tune on the C64 of a friend of mine. It was the reason I got a summer vacation job at the local gas station to earn me the money to buy my own C64 and own the game so I could play it and listen to its songs as often as I wanted to. This C64 then sparked my interest in computers which ultimately led to an MSc in computer science and a career in the IT business. So, in a way, Ben is responsible for the way my life turned out.
I'm 51 now. I will listen to this until my last breath and it will be part of my funeral compilation.
R.I.P Ben and thank you for the music.
@@JCrashB ure right !
@@JCrashB 2021, almost about to enter 2022, I'm 54 and this still gives me goose bumps now. I was a huge fan of the VIC20 and 64, have both original systems as well as the new ones that were released just because I love these systems, the games and in particular the music that came with them. I too ended up studying Computer Science because of these machines but they also sparked my interest into electronics as I wanted to be able to repair the originals. I now have my own Electronics Business I work part-time in (I actually have a high paying full-time role in the Government) and everything I have learnt about electronics has been self taught. Ben Daglish like you in way also inspired me to study I.T. and also eventually electronics. I just wish I had the music talent he had! R.I.P Ben.
Rest in peace, Ben. You were a whirlwind of life, and you died far too young. You will be much missed.
I have watched it hundreds of times and cried. I realized that Ben was the last ninja at the time. I regret that I could not touch him.
Plexa the same thing happens to me every time I hear this Melody, Words cannot Explain it. Thanks a lot BEN for this Beautiful Music.
I love how Ben plays guitar on his flute in the start. He was so goofball'y sometimes, in the best kind of way. We miss you Ben
Such a privilege to watch Ben play this song.
So many awesome memories playing this game. I would say The Last Ninja is on the top of my list of best C64 games. Furthermore, the whole soundtrack was truly perfect for this game. If I had to choose one set of songs to listen to the rest of my life, this would probably be it , original SID or remix like this is great either way.
I really hope my baby son will play this game one day and appreciate the atmosphere in the game just like we all did when we were kids.
R.I.P. Ben and may your legacy live on forever!
And again back…. 😭 every few weeks I am watching… reminds me… enjoy every moment you have. RIP Ben.
Cool to see "old" guy's like myself smiling and take pix of our childhood heroes! 0:20 Thanks for sharing, Awesome!
rest in peace ben. greetings to all his friends and family from germany. I am crying. have fun at
8-Bit Symphony - 15th June 2019, Hull City Hall ;-)
Thank you Ben. Rest in peace.
OMG OMG OMG! I can't believe he was only 21 years old when he composed this master piece with Anthony Lees! GENIUS!
Still love your fantastic music on the C64. R.I.P. :-(
Conan, what is best in life?
To see Ben Daglish play flute on The Last Ninja with the FastLoaders live.
To respect the genius of 8-but composers who’s music lives on decades later and will for decades more.
To remember them once they are gone.
First heard this 32 years ago.....changed my world..
We miss you Master Ben...
I wish there's a 8-bit afterlife.
Awesome! I had the privilege to meet Ben several times, both in concerts and for a private chat. :) I had the opportunity to tell him "thanks for inspiring me as a kid" in person.
This live performance with Freeloaders is really good. I like how they swap the lead instrument between flute and guitar - an understanding without words. :) Music is the universal language.
Wonderful. R.I.P Ben Daglish. You were a legend, you are and you will be.
Rest in Peace Ben...
Sad to hear that this musical prodigy, Ben Daglish, passed away. But very happy to see thet he got to hear and be part of his Last Ninja´s epic music "coming to life" like this! This is -in my opinion what that music was meant to sound like. As a composer myself I could hardly imagine anything more satisfying.. ;-)
You don't get melody like this anymore in today's music, it's like the world hates music now, only C64/Amiga tunes kept the world turning in the 80's and 90's
Every single time I see Ben on stage my eyes gets wet, he was such a genius :( His legacy will live forever.
Rest in peace Ben Daglish your music lives on.
Still loving this in 2020!
Thank you Ben!
We will miss you, good music, and good games.
May these memories last forever.
best music of game history!! last ninja 💜
RIP Ben... Legend
Losing both Ben Daglish and Anthony Lees in the same year. Not to mention Bob Wakelin and Rick Dickinson (yeah I know he wasn't a C64 guy, but it's always sad when someone who contributes so much to old school technology dies). 2018 was pretty sad in that regards.
RIP to all. Hopefully 2019 isn't going to be so tragic.
This made one big boy cry...me.
RIP Ben! This is the music of my childhood! You will be remembered forever!
R. I. P Ben Daglish, your music lives on🎶.
"Would anybody like to hear Ron Burgandy play some yazz Flute?" -Tino
R.I.P Benny
Who'd have thought there would be a day when metal heads would need a video game nerd on stage with a flute to make them cool again.
Always loved the theme and specially "solo"-part 1:55-2:55... if that guitar solo was played by a rock/metal band at '80s it would be one the most famous guitar solo ever. Thanks Ben!
That solo was borrowed by the band Dragonforce for their track "Revelations". Check it out.
@@c64audio Thanks! I wondered one time in Herman Li Twitch stream when they played quitar solo which sounded like from Last Ninja :))... now i understand that they maybe did "borrow" melody.
This is incredible. RIP Ben..such as a sad loss.
Music Ninjas at work :)
Commodore 64 will never die!!
Rip Ben Daglish
Damn Ben played like a man possessed. Such a frenetic talent and so very missed.
I cried Hearing this.
ok. In fact, i was born to watch this video, you playing Last Ninja music.
Legend!
This is the hardest game ever because you have to be: strong like a diamond, flexible like a willow, fluid like water...and empty like space...all at the same time! Domo Arigato! :)
Rest in Peace and thank you for the great Memories your Awesome Music brings to all of us
Can't believe Ben. For ever.
Ben Danglish , thanks for inspiring my hours of gaming in the 80s
This was truly legandary
rip ben x
I dont think I ever loved a computergame as much as I did last ninja I and II. When I was a kid and went away on vacation, I brought with me a casette tape with the soundtracks from the game and listened to every day. I listened to the tapes and when I was done, I listened to them again.
RIP Ben - amazing talent and timeless tunes :(
A perfect performance and extremely inspiring considering the moment the legendary composer played this. Of course with a sense of nostalgia for the wonderful childhood moments.
This is for sure all of the best things.
R.I.P. Ben Daglish. Such a talent lost so early.
Well this is fucking epic. RIP Ben!
Ben, ich liebe dich noch immer für diesen Track, den Soundtrack von Last Ninja. Ich danke Dir für alles, was du mir mit auf den Weg gegeben hast. Danke, dass sich unsere Welten berührten.
Unbelievable.. i had c64 with tape and i had to wait to get the game loaded but time flow while i am hearing these masterpieces.. R.I.P. Ben .. greetings from Egypt
Was 10 years old when I first played The Last Ninja. This was "the" game that got me to take video game music seriously, WELL before the industry did. Ben certainly opened my eyes and ears to the potential of great music anywhere.
R.I.P. , Mr. Daglish. Way, way, way ahead of your time with this soundtrack. Still listen to it, to this very day, and onward.
Oh Ben. Last ninja was so beyond. I beg at your knees.
Never realized the guy on the flute was Ben the guy who wrote the song. Thats really cool. R.I.P.
I also like thier colab with Rob Hubberd as well.
I'm an old school C64 fan and I watched the video with a big smile :) Congratulations and thanks :)
AWESOME
Genius music.
Who the fuck downvoted this?

The Best Live Cover I have Heard, from This Unique and Amazing Game, with the one and only, Ben Daglish.
HUGUINI best?? Haha
I feel envious of those lucky enough being there. Much love.
Thank you for your wonderful pieces of art. Your melodies will always be with me. Rest in Peace Mr. Ben Daglish.
Stunning!
This should be way up there on the top musical pieces of history. What a masterpiece!
And I still (of course) prefer the commodore version more than anything else but this performance has captured the spirit (of the evil shogun) perfectly!
Thank you Ben for having gifted us with this music and rest in peace brother.
2022 still awesome!!!! Thnank You!
Ah. Nostalgia!
The game was awesome back in the day and I spent so much time playing it. The cover music is fantastic. Brings back the memories of the c64
i still cry for the loss of ben daglish
Thanks alott, brought me back to the good old days
This is amazing and a bit sad at the same time. What a talent from an era which will never be matched.
Oh my god this is amazing I got chills over here - I'm sure this is what I was hearing in my head as a kid as this was pumping out of our TV form that C64's SID chip!
Wow old memories came back...I was a kid when playing my favourite game hours and hours to finally reach the end...tears in my eyes...thx for this vid
Last Ninja, epic games, epic sound, epic cover...
Masterpiece.
So coooooooollllllll
Fastloaders, my favourite band.
Thank you Ben for your timeless and awesome music which accompanied me in my childhood and I still listen today. :) RIP
That is AMAZING!!! Love that game and the fantastic, the BEST Soundtrack for a Game!
Benn
If I would have heard this back in the day, being 12 years old, I wouldn't have survived the eargasm
Been following this for a few months, last ninja stuff and this is an amazing show.
This is Absolutely Legendary.
R.I.P. Ben Daglish A master of its class Thank you for everything Commodore forever and ever
Still the best piece of computer game music ever written.
That and the platoon game sids are the best
