You bet. And saving ones life even better. I have a squirrel mom i have been hand feeding for 3 years now. She has the worst luck every year with her nests. Ravens got one and one of her babies. Then racoons tore apart one. Then her tree was cut down. Her newest nest this year did not withstand a very bad few days of weather, we had Unusual weather. hail, snow, rain, and terrible wind. We noticed a few weeks ago now that she was trying to get some of her 6 babies to get into a birdhouse. They were too young yet and not strong enough to climb the wet slippery fences. Then the ravens showed up and we had to go and check. Found 2 of her babies laying on the ground and appeared to be dead. Mom showed up and went and started licking the one baby. We thought maybe it was goodbye. Then after she moved away i went and had a closer look and noticed one arm seemed to move just a tiny bit. No signs of even breathing. So we picked up the 2 wet and cold limp babes and took them into the house and rubbed them down with warm towels. Sadly the one was already gone. We placed the other on a heated wheat bag and kept rubbing and blowing air into his face. We got more slow movements and a couple of weak peeps. So we place him in our old rabbit cage all bundled. He slowly came around and 6 hours later he was screaming down the house. We were going to keep him in over night because mom still had the other 4 to look after. But he was making such a racket. So we put the cage in the open door and called mom over for a peanut, and when they saw it other it was the best feeling. They made the cutest purring noises. He is still around playing out back and doing well 3 weeks later. Every time i see little peep my heart is happy.
The buckets have water in them. Raccoons are known for "Washing" their food in water before or as they're eating it. I was with my day, and we were catching catfish. We had caught three so far and strung them up on a stringer and put them in the water. We left to gather more firewood, and when we came back, a raccoon had pulled the stringer of catfish out of the water, pulled the catfish off the stringer and had them lined up on the bank. They had the smallest of the catfish in the water "washing" it as it feasted upon it. We gave it that one, but took the other two bigger ones. My dad said, "Oh well, it's a compromise." I lost him June 20, 2020, and that is one of thousands of memories I had with my pops.

I love the one who hides his hotdog in the bucket. He must of been the runt. Before you got him fat. From hot dogs. Lol. Love the video. I had a baby for 2 weeks he followed me around my house all day. And would sleep next to me. I would put him in a milk create at night on the back porch. With a blanket over it and a piece of wood. With a 15 lbs weight. So mom could come get him. It took awhile but she did come get him. But for that time I had a great time with him. I love how they run with the back all hunched upwards. Its so cute. God bless you for what you do.
I am happy when you put the food in small piles. Then the shy ones get a better chance and getting the goodies. When the food is in a long line, it seems only the dominant ones have easy eating. Thanks for making it fair.
OMG i feed a Family of 5 racoons myself!!!!! I have tons of adorable pix of them! MAMA ACTUALLY LEFT HER 4 BABIES W ME after she moved on. .now we are down from 4 babies to 2 that still come to eat nightly!! I live in Upstate NY!💗🦝💗🦝
Thats only one of them who apparently was new to the nightly routine and likely had just followed the others and so even while the food is plentiful he is demonstrating dominance towards the others while eating his little chunk. Likely its one of the others simply walking past him to go get another piece from their Old Buddy.
I feed a few myself. One mother brings her 5 kits in with her to eat. Time for some softer foods. Are these little ones so docile. They dont care one bit if they are scratched on the head. So relaxing to feed them.
They can also kill you quick as fuck. They have very sharp ass claws some lady got her face ripped off by one cause she didn’t know one with in her attic with its babies.

Heather Michonsski nothing wrong with keeping it as a pet as long as you take care of it and don't snatch wild animals from Mom to raise. Otherwise I see nothing wrong. Alot of wild animals loose or are not taught essential survival skills a mom would teach when raised in wild
@@spankthemonkey3437 The best thing to do is give them the option of leaving or staying. Even if leaving is their pick, often they come back to visit, sometimes bringing kits with them.
We’ve all heard of the “ol cat lady” down the street. He’s the “ol raccoon gentleman”. 😂 And the fact that this gentleman “knows” the coons like the small marshmallows the best, tells viewers he truly loves raccoons. P.S. A little “trivia factoid”: Raccoons are omnivores.

God Bless you James! I had raised two back in the late 80's and early 90's. Rocky and Josette. They lived in the house with us for about twenty years. Rocky was 19 and Josette was 18 years old. When they passed it was like loosing one of my kids! Hardest thing I've ever been through. They where rescues. Then I found Hermione along the road. She had been hit by a car. I took her to the vets. She patched her up and she lived with me for 17 years. In 2004 I found 3 babies in my back yard. They had been abandoned by there mother. I took them in and had to bottle feed them for a while. Adam, Sissy and April. They lived with me for about a year. At that point they wanted outside. They still come around now and then. I give then hot dogs as well as cookies and peanut and jelly sandwiches. They have a special place in my heart... Love your videos... Robert.

ENCORE MERCI🌷❤

I’d make the one by the bucket a pet , he’s so sweet and kind , doesn’t growl or snarl he has manners even eats over the bucket
So sweet one racoon was literally stuffing himself with marshmallows eating one right after the other! What an adorable bunch of rascals they are!🐾🦝🐾🦝🐾🦝🐾🦝🐾💙☘
Doesn't sugar hurt their teeth? We limit our raccoon food to dog food and to apples, although I know they like all sorts of things..
@@gaylehansen3433 I'm not sure but I remember reading that sugar replacements such as sweet & low, sucralose etc are the type of sugars that are really bad for their metabolism. They have a sweet tooth as they naturally enjoy fruits, honey etc !
They certainly all look well fed!! And this is the 1st time in my life I've heard a racoon growl.
I like when they snort, think its kind of a greeting, but also a warning, territorial..like, don't mess with me, bub!
The way they slowly rise up on their back legs before you looks like they're worshipping you, lol.
they are...the king of food....
I’m watching from Australia. My cat and I love watching them 😊
I love the one who hides his hotdog in the bucket.
11:10 the guy on the left is a big fan of them marshmallows, he’s vacuuming that floor of marshmallow like a boss!
So adorable & wow they get hissy with eachother lol big eaters. Your wonderful feeding them. So many of them wouldn’t be able to survive without you.
The growling & snarling freaks me out.
I didn't know such cute raccoons made such blood curdling noises.
You should hear the noise British Fox's make..
😱😱
They can also kill you quick as fuck. They have very sharp ass claws some lady got her face ripped off by one cause she didn’t know one with in her attic with its babies.
God bless u ....we have had a pet one for 3 years...and I cldnt let him go after I bottle him for 2 months...they are beautiful creatures ....ours rides in the car ...goes for rides on my husband's bike w him ....I know it may sound cruel to have him as a pet ..we tried to let him go ...but he wld beat us to door to get in ...thank u 4 being such a generous soul and feeding our beloved friends
That is one tired mama - laying on her side. Nice to get away from the kiddos.
Yes, I think she enjoys it, nice break for her. Now, if she had James all to herself, she'd say it's perfect. 😊
We’ve all heard of the “ol cat lady” down the street. He’s the “ol raccoon gentleman”. 😂
And the fact that this gentleman “knows” the coons like the small marshmallows the best, tells viewers he truly loves raccoons.
P.S. A little “trivia factoid”: Raccoons are omnivores.
I just adore your videos!! What a special quality to possess! I'm in awe ❤❤
Thank you so much!
I love them all!!! I would have to say "Buddy" has stolen my ❤
Also "Conner" is very beautiful and such a lucky boy. He shares his Dad with many raccoons and doesn't seem to mind at all. I hope he got his Tim Hortons doughnuts😋
Oh how I miss my mom and her five cubs and the nightly visit. I’m in California, and my guys didn’t appear to recognize meat as food when offered! 😂 I called them my vegan CA raccoons, on a special diet, of course.
Thank you so much, Sir, for this! What a wonderful palate cleanser for life! Take good care and stay healthy and safe, and keep enjoying your furry friends!
Hi dear 👋, how are you doing today?
This made my day!! Thank you James!😊💕🐞
Sounds like you have a zombie chained up just out of camera view.
What a truly kind human being. They are amazing animals. Thanks for loving nature and caring about nature. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hi dear, how are you doing today?
Robert.
Lol, when you were tossing then marshmallows on the ground, a moth/butterfly flew in the shot at 9:05. I thought a raccoon had thrown a marshmallow back at you 😂
lol if they did that, it would be their last time at Jim’s table 😂
Katherine Kwok 😂 Or it could be seen as one of those things like when cats bring gifts to their owners.. like dead animals 😂. Maybe the raccoons threw marshmallows back to share with him, lol!
Lmao it did look like that🤣🤣🤣!
I like that he been doing this for so long that the racoons have pretty much gotten so use to him, that they now consider him the food giver man and are so calm around him.
Buddy on the roost is adorable...So sweet, looks like he wants 2 give Jim a big Smootch..💋🦝💕
Awww how sweet. I looked up what they like to eat besides cat and dog food. It mentions mix of nuts, fruit, peanut butter, fish, turkey and chicken....says the foods are good in protein for them. That's so sweet how you care. That made my day! God bless you....
Good Job 👍 Partner Ive been feeding a Mom Racoon and her 6 babies for a month and a half now 😄 my Cat 🐈 Nixon not to happy about it he looks similar to your cat long haired and also white and black such a cowinsedence 🐈 but, I keep telling him there your buddies. Keep well take care James🌅🍁 say hi to your Family of Racoons for me 🇨🇦 shout out from Muskoka, Ontario 🇨🇦 p.s it's awesome when they let ya pet them very smart animals. I know cats 🐈 and racoons don't get along (Animal Kingdom) every animal can be tamed it's all in your voice, body language, discipline, and keeping everything even some take more time than others. Take Care James thank you for your Video's
A cuna ma Tata
Interesting how they all have such different personalities.
You could probably breed them into docility, like foxes. Or dogs..
@@DG123z That could be said for any species to be honest. But it also depends on their history with humans. Those experiences are embedded in their genetic code
Its wild, each one of mine very in the markings on their coats, their demeanor and even on food preferences. Got one that goes crazy over captain crunch, another thinks pretty ok and two that wont touch the stuff! (All 3 babies love)
i feel that i need to buy stock in the hotdog company !
wow they can eat !!!
the raccoons I feed here in Texas love bread and yogurt....lol
Thank you for being kind to these wonderful animals !
Raccoons are one of my favorites. I'm so jealous.
We don't have them here in the netherlands, sadly.
If I could feed them on my porch, I would be so happy.
They are beautiful, cute and funny.
those are the fattest group of raccoons I ever seen I have seen a few around my house and they are all skinny
Should start feeding them 😅
Please start uploading feeding videos too!
Yours aren’t being fed this known fattening diet...as evidenced by humans with similar body shapes who eat the S.A.D.
The ones I feed get so spoiled! They don't want sandwiches if there is something better! Thanks for loving them! You rock!!!
What do you feed your racoons?
@@jackieduggan3294 Cat food. They love Publix Complete! And it's cheap, comparatively!
You remind me of my old Dad in rural Oxfordshire. He made friends with a couple of Muntjac Deer. They would come by every night to get their treats. They would feed from his hand, but if anyone else came outside they'd be off like a shot. 😊
This is like a TV show !
When they make those roaring noises I get nervous for you lol
It just amazes me how you can interact with them like that , almost like they're house Cats! You really are the "Racoon Whisperer "
😃
They trust him, those that know him. New ones will take a while to get comfortable around him. All that noise they make is directed at each other!
Yes , he truly is the raccoon whisperer😊❤❤❤❤
Raccoons love anybody who feeds them (assuming they aren't sick). Unfortunately, they lose their natural fear of humans and then anyone who doesn't feed them, and has the misfortune of running into one of them, is likely to get attacked by the vicious little bastards.
@@Sesquippedaliophobia Amen..wait until one with rabies shows up.. see how "cute" it can be. It's as close to the cartoon Tasmanian Devil as I've ever seen. Scary man 😵
Wow, I've never seen so many raccoons in one place! 😍So wonderful to see how they're cared for. You're so awesome!👍❤
It’s like bubbles from trailer park boys but instead of kittens it’s raccoons
Thank you!! Finally someone said it! It's totally Bubbles!
Yep!
Oh my goodness, so cute laying on her side!!
Why is the one growling fighting with everyone? Can't he see there's plenty of food to go around. My heart broke for the little one by the bench when she got attacked, she was so scared. I felt so bad for Buddy too. It's so cute how he understood what you was saying to him.
Dominant raccoon. Don’t feel bad didn’t hurt it.
And some of them are new so the group doesn’t trust them, one is being kept off the deck.
I swear buddy gave you a kiss on the cheek ! ❤️
You are so sweet to help out these beautiful animals. I love the one on ur shoulder and the cute little ones diipping their hotdogs in water. ohhhhh how cute
Hahahahaha theyre so dang cute!! That momma one just laying down eating ahaha priceless. I love how they give you a pat too in order to let you know they want a piece of what you're handing out hahaha
A blessed good day to Uncle James a celebrity for the lovely raccoons who is so amazing old grandpa who loves cares and adorable Uncle James is so incredible fantastic in handling the wildlife i really respect his valuable commitment and dedication to his favourite works tqtqtq from Bruce Wee a former Josephian student from Kuching Sarawak the Land of Borneo Great Hornbill 👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏
If Hossy and the other female get any bigger they're going to need flashing yellow lights and backup alarms on them or Goodyear stickers on their sides. 🤔🤣
That looks like a lot of food. Is that why they're so fat? Hahaha You're quite a person!
You can tell they are well fed! Love them!
that one is so grumpy, whats his deal? snarling the whole time
He's showing aggressive he's a dominant raccoon
He is mentioned by the guy a couple of times as apparently a "new" one.
i havé à cat that does that. she gets defensive of her food.
Mainly territory plus aggressive over the food supply.
Some raccoons are just total assholes like that , similar to human groups there is always one bully in the mix
What a precious man, I just love this!!😇
