Japan Emperor Naruhito plants cherry tree at Oxford University in UK

Japan's Emperor Naruhito planted a cherry tree at Oxford University on Friday in the gardens of the college where he was once a student. Naruhito was joined by Empress Masako for his return to Merton College, where he studied for a postgraduate history degree between 1983 and 1985. Masako also studied at Oxford's Balliol College a few years after her husband. Read more: bit.ly/4cADqqn

On a Japanese Channel covering the Imperial couples departure. The Emperor and Empress personally thanked and shook hands with the Metropolitan Police Special Patrol Group who escorted and protected them during their UK visit. What a humbling sight to witness their gratitude.
