I love heel vs. heel battles. Even though the Shield were made to be more sympathetic, they were still the same badasses who still unfairly used the numbers game against their foes.
one of the best bookings vince did at the end, was doing everything right with The Shield. They seemed so protected, compared to Nexus or the Wyatts they thankfully didn't got screwed by terrible booking.

If seth doesn't get injured he is the closest to Shawn I ever seen. The stuff Seth did was incredible. The fact he does all these matches with all those injuries shows how amazing he is. People will eventually realize he is one of the greatest. I know he is liked alot but it will be even more eventually.

Man I'm so glad Seth cleared this up because I was confused AF on how the shield was formed lol because I fell out of Wrestling for like over 10 years and I was heavily invested into shows like Dark side of the ring and others similar to that, but I was still peeping lil segments that popped up on UA-cam here and there.
Basically Seth confirmed what Punk stated years back on the Colt Cabana podcast in 2014. Punk was supposed to get a heel stable of bodyguards. The original idea was to be Kane, Big Show and Daniel Bryan. Punk nixed that lineup and suggested Seth, Moxley and Chris Hero. Vince and co wanted Roman instead of Hero as they were creaming themselves over him even back then in FCW/NXT. The rest is history.
I love the idea of Seth, Mox, and Roman all going to different army surplus stores and shopping for their Shield gear. I wonder if any of those chat threads between the three comparing their picks still exist. 😂
imo the shield rose so many stakes with the stuff they accomplished together man truly was an honor to be apart of that time and era , really hope one day before its too late we can see them together again even if its just one night only id pay anything to watch it

No one else comes close Shield is better in that all 3 of their members end up and are still the center of the pro-wrestling landscape as individuals. BC is better in that they have a wider range of influence in the landscape (leaders Balor, AJ, Omega, Jay all make waves wherever they go, and even non-leaders like Cody or Bucks end up being influential names) So it's subjective which is better
Most groups have 1 person spin off and become successful, some groups have a couple spin off, but usually at least one or two guys get left behind as the "other guy" It's almost unheard of that every single member of a group spins off into main event level success like The Shield did All three of them are at the top of the business in their own respective ways.

Well, to be fair, it’s easy to say that now. Roman was awful as the big dog. The second he got to be himself, aka the tribal chief, that’s when the Roman reigns you’re referring to ended up paying off.
The Shield were truly a breath of fresh air for WWE as I had kind of distanced myself from watching it but those guys really got me hooked again. I don't think I have ever seen a faction who started out so strong and continued to keep getting better every single week. There were no weak links at all, everyone was a true equal and every member came out better. Their matches were always the highlight of the show and The Shield Vs The Wyatt Family for my money is one of the greatest six man tags I have ever seen. When it's all said and done, The Shield will be definitely be remembered as one of the greatest factions of all time

When you look back, considering some of the shoddy bookind around the time, its amazing how well the Shield were booked back then. I really dont think a single beat was missed with them. They looked strong from start to finish.
I knew Seth would be good in a group because he was awesome in Age Of The Fall. He can work tag matches at a high level and be a believable violent heel. The shield was actually an amazing way to introduce 3 badass guys at the same time. Punk deserves credit for that idea.
The Shield has gotta be one of the most successful factions in modern wrestling right there with like the Bullet Club. All three of Roman, Seth, and Moxley are now top guys in wrestling and i think there was even a point where they were all world champions at the same time
It would've been more impressive if half the roster in AEW weren't some kind of champion & they make being a champion there irrelevant. Not to mention the fact that nobody in AEW is anywhere near the top in the industry especially Moxley. Instead he's one of the top "change the channel and check back in 20 minutes" guys in the business & has been for a couple of years now

Imagine it took WWE this long to realize people were aware of talent from the indies and diff geographic locations. And they still have a long way to go in regards to recognizing talents work n accomplishments in other promotions. It’s like they think if they mention AEW or N.E championship wrestling, GCW, New Japan or any of the other wrestling options that we are all going to immediately stop watching them and run to watch / support these other promotions.
The fact is the only top guy not headline wm in his time ,and the idea of sheild was his .and had them for one night .that proves why punk hated the wwe at the time ,and they made him put over part timers .the proved Vince never believed in CM punk even at his peak
