Filling in for an injured starter Jordan Love, Malik Willis controlled an efficient and conservative run-1st attack on the way to a win last week against the Indianapolis Colts. Meanwhile, the Tennessee Titans starter, Will Levis, who has beat out Malik Willis for playing time the past 2 offseasons has turned the ball over 5 times in his 1st 2 games of 2024. Multiple turnovers have come on unforced errors stemming from trying too hard to make a play when nothing is there. Extend the trend line and it doesn’t look great for the Tennessee Titans. Green Bay’s defense has forced 6 turnovers through the 1st 2 weeks, most in the NFL, while the Tennessee Titans defense hasn’t forced any. One strength-on-weaknesses scenario is tough to overcome. 2 of those scenarios is bleak. But this early in the season, it also might be a little bit soon to read too far into trends. The Green Bay Packers blitz at one of the lowest rates in the NFL and hasn’t done much of generating sacks this year. But the interior duo of Kenny Clark and Devonte Wyatt has been remarkably productive to start out the season and represent a significant challenge for guards Dillion Radunz and Peter Skoronski and center Lloyd Cushenberry III. The Green Bay Packers safeties Xavier McKinney and Javon Bullard have been everywhere this season having 24 combined tackles, 2 interceptions, a pass breakup, and a quarterback pressure. Packers opponents have had a tough time throwing downfield against the duo, logging a 68.75 passer rating with 5 interceptions when targeting passes 10 yards or deeper. As Will Levis and Calvin Ridley continue to hone their connection, this figures to be a tough matchup for the Tennessee Titans. The Tennessee Titans know how tough it can be to get a passing attack rolling with Will Levis behind center. That’s why the Green Bay Packers didn’t really push the issue in week 2. Josh Jacobs carried the ball 32 times, which would’ve been tied for the 3rd-most by any player in a game last season. 2 more running backs and Will Levis each carried at least 5 times, and 2 receivers carried multiple times. Will Levis, meanwhile, attempted just 14 passes, and only 3 of them were targeted 10 or more yards downfield. The Green Bay Packers ran right about twice as often as they ran last Sunday, giving the Tennessee Titans an opportunity to align their run stoppers accordingly. Rookie T’Vondre Sweat wasn’t as nearly destructive in Week 2 as he was in his debut, but this game should be a showcase opportunity to see how much of a difference he can make absorbing double teams and penetrating into the backfield to derail run plays. The Green Bay Packers left tackle Rasheed Walker had a rough go in Week 1, allowing 4 pressures and getting called for 2 penalties. He rebounded in Week 2, but with the hot start the Tennessee Titans edge rusher Harold Landry III has gotten off to, it’ll be interesting to see how the Tennessee Titans try to fluster Malik Willis. JC Latham was impressive in week 2, and he’ll continue his upward trajectory by protecting Will Levis well again and clearing holes in the running game. Quandre Diggs is no stranger to tackling, and he’ll make a difference as an attacking last line of defense against a heavy Green Bay Packers rushing attack. Jamal Adams played only 2 snaps in his Tennessee Titans debut, but his skill as a box safety will be needed to keep numbers fair if Green Bay favors the run again. Until the Tennessee Titans offense proves otherwise, it’s hard to expect too much rhythm. Will Levis and company will make a few plays, but the Green Bay Packers defense is just a little too solid and the offense can make just enough to happen to steal another win for the Green Bay Packers without Jordan Love. The flip against the Bears was worse, they were up 17-16. The Bears offense couldn't score at all. It resulted in a pick 6. Punt it and you win the game. The Bears offense is so bad at this point there was no chance they drive the field to win the game. Titans could be 2-0 if he didn't make those two big mistakes. There is no way the Packers can take that defense lightly. The fact that Willis didn't get live reps and started three games is malpractice by Vrable. Lafleur had Willis for one week to start a game and figured out a way to be effective. Coaching matters, look at Chicago, they are ruining Caleb. They keep doing 7 step drops and he's getting killed. Houston just kept blitzing and they had no answer. Every team has blitz beaters and they didn't take advantage of the Texans aggressiveness. Coaching matters. I'm glad we have Lafleur and Hafley.
All the other locked on hosts…. The 49ers, the bears …..the Steelers…. All of them seem checked out. Broey or boring( the bears one is shot in like a broom closet) this titans host is right on par with Pete and this episode was great! GPG

But the lack of speed at linebacker is still a concern, in particular, Quay Walker. But again, like you broke down, you don’t need top notch linebacking corp to win it all.
Nah theres more than enough speed at linebacker. Quay's problem is he has no instincts so his first step is always late.
Agree Quay has been a disappointment, and he’s not gonna get faster. But it is a new system. Like it or not, he’s gonna get a lot of snaps, and I think we see at least some level of improvement in his play as the season moves on.
@@scooter5940 Quay Walker has 4.52 speed. Remember him beating Justin Fields to the sideline? He can fly. His problems are mental, not athletic.

@@scooter5940 Yeah cuz his processing still sucks. Its not something that can really be taught. They either have it or they dont. I know its cliche and people say this about a lot of players they think are out of position, but id really like to see Quay get a shot as a pass rusher. Take the thinking out of it and let him go be a freak. Try to utilize his rare athletic ability somehow.

I'll just take a win. Being overconfident is not a good strategy in the NFL. Any team can beat any other team, so all the teams are even at the start of the game. As they say. You gotta play the game.
