This works, BUT the key is the timing of turning the handle AFTER you bang the safe. If you hold the handle trying to turn it before you bang the top the safe, the tension on the handle and shaft prevents the mechanism from bouncing inside. So, you bang first and a 1/4 second later you try turning the handle. It took me about 20 tries. I had to bang in a slightly different place and I kept jiggling the handle as I repeatedly pounded the top of the safe. SUCCESS! Persistence pays off when coupled with patience.

Banging the top only works if its mounted on something crappy. try doing when its on concrete...and most are mounted so you cant get behind them..if you could spin it around you just nick the safe!

This video assumes safe is loose (those holes at the back of the safe will not serve any use when safe bolted to a wall) and also this video assumes safe has space above to tap the top to release spring.
Well I have been locked out of my safe which is a newer version of this one for about a year!!! The second time I tried it worked!!!!! You have to have the dial in the 12 o'clock position and as you hit the top ( more than just a tap cuz the spring is in the DOOR.. ) so tap HIT it pretty hard and go from the 12 position and as you HIT the top .. TURN the dial .. so that you are hitting the position where the dial stops at the exact same time as 'the HIT' ricochets thru the body of the safe ... its magic dude !!!

Those are "bolt down" holes on the back, not "reset password" holes. If people would actually use them for their intended purpose, one would not be able to reset the password through the hole.
