Good job on the handle and the steel you did a fantastic job not to much shine just enough to make it look good nice handle to keep doing what you do brother and thank you for the video Brian ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🍺👍
Thank you Sir For showing the faults in the handle , others hide they're faults. The handle as well as the axe are beautiful . thank you for your honestly .Cheers. (:
My corn knives, machetes, and whatnot all have a hole drilled through the handles at the butt end for a wrist cord to keep the tool from flying off if jarred from your grip and being lost or impaling/slicing the wielder or bystanders. Also, we found that oversized grips are easier on the hands, as less grip is needed for firm grasp. Really liked the hook end you added to the grip.
I wouldn't worry about making a mistake on the handle... that's how we learn and makes us who we are... just put it down to blonde moment and move on.. brother... awesome job.
Beautiful job...be careful when you file that square corner at the tang/blade transition...a square corner is a breaking point...a 1/16 round file will stop the stress riser. But still beautiful!!!
decent results. the one thing that stuck out to me was the size of the hole nearest the blade. I think it took too much metal way, that spot is going to be too weak. I have to wonder why the tang was so darned long in the first place.
One other thing, a knife for chopping will be a lot stronger if the area where the tang meets the blade is not at a 90 degree angle. It’s better to have a curve in that spot than a right angle. The reason is because of stress fractures from chopping. The sharp angle will magnify the stress of the chop in that corner and eventually it may shatter at that point. I’m saying it only to help you. Otherwise everything is great!
I see a lot of people use the electrolysis method of removing rust, and then they end up using a flap disk. I would think that it is probably better to bypass the electrolysis altogether and go right to the flap disk.
Beautiful work, my only concerns are the sharp angle between the handle and the base of the blade where you filed it square. Sharp angles tend to be weak spots, being the first area to crack or break. Also when you ground off the corner the metal got hot enough to chang color, making the metal soft there, right by that sharp angle. Not trying to be that guy, just looking out for your safety if you use this tool.
Nice job dude i like it :) But i like the hande more than the axe. Because i think you can sanding more on the axe with the machine and then at last with the paper than you have more shine and not a lot pores😊 but already you work realy good thank you for your videos everytime it makes fun to looking it (Sorry for my english😂😂)
When you squared off the shoulder of the blade by the handle you introduced a stress riser. It's why so many blades and other tools have things like that rounded off, so as to not snap. Be careful with that. It should be fine if it's just plants that it's cutting, but I'd be leery of anything very hard.

I admire people who leave their mistakes in the videos. For me, it makes it easier to spot where I am going wrong.
Very nice job overall, that second handle is much better than first. Good job sir ! 👍👍

The tang is long because its a machete for crop harvesting it would have been on a long pole handle to begin with
@@blindmelonlemonjello oh... thanks for the info. I think I've seen something like it before...somewhere.
Long handle => more umpha. Sometimes billhooks that are made for woodsmen can have 1m ling handle.
Hello, thank you for your attention, sir! I guess many years ago, people use the long tang to put in round wood handle. May be is not right my opinion
Thank you for info, sir!

Hello, yes sir it's true. But I used always elctrolisys due to first of all remove all little piece off rusty and lose little percent of steel.
