Eventually the wife and I will be traveling to the National Parks and I will be HAM radio ready…so the video gives me ideas on what I might want to do. BTW….I would like to know how to find HF radios that support APRS….or is there a APRS device that would work with the HF radio? Thanks again to you and your brother for the RV ideas. ()Rob WD4IFT)
Hi Rob! Portable operation is fun. You will of course be well-set to operate POTA. I’m not aware of an HF radio that supports APRS. The iGates and digipeaters monitor 144.390 MHz. 73, de N4HNH
Doug great video as I was in California, Tehachapi with my ftdx10 in our trailer. I had a Comet CHA-250B antenna bolted to the back ladder as I was at a RV park no room to spread out an end fed or dipole antenna. Where does your brother feed his built in Anderson power strip, batteries or 110 vac power supply?
So cool Doug to see the other side of the QSO! Great RV setup!
Wayne is still refining it. But it is working well.
Nice set up!
It’s his man cave.

The 12v is from a buss on the frame the manufacturer did. It's the feed point from the battery and solar panel input connection.
I asked Wayne to answer your question. I see that he did.

Are the Anderson Power Poles connected directly to the batteries?
I’m pretty sure they are, knowing Wayne. Update: I just called Wayne. The Anderson Power poles are connected to wires that go to the main battery bus.
So little QRM... 😭
It is nice to get away from city QRM.
