I think a orangutan habitat near the Bigfoot stuff to imply that Bigfoot sightings are actually from encounters with orangutans that escaped from the tropical zoo would be cool and great way to connect different parts of Elderwood together.

It's crazy how much your builds have improved since this game came out, your creativity and attention to detail never fails to impress 👌
I really love how much thought you put into your builds. The personal stories you give the builds gives a personal touch which brings a different sense of realism to the game which I don’t think anyone else does.
Also I have a suggestion: the monitor habitat was destroyed by someone who Barry had gotten onto the wrong side of while buying animals illegally. Maybe he became in debt and couldn’t pay, or he betrayed them in some way.
Good Lord I wish I was intelligent enough to do this kind of stuff 😂 😭

Throg is back! YAY! Anyway, wanted to let you know I LOVE your Planet Zoo videos and will watch them no matter how long they are. I would love to be memorialized in your zoo :)
I also have a mighty weakness for BestInSlot videos, and will watch them no matter how long they are. He mentioned this one being turned up to 1500x speed, and it wasn't a problem for me. Probably because he is really good about not zooming/rotating too fast. I don't know if it's an intentional effort on his part or just intuition, but it definitely prevents headaches, even at 1500x speed.
I just found out that you started back up with Elderwood yesterday, and I've been catching up as fast as I can. I'm so glad you are putting out Planet Zoo content again, especially because you say it doesn't do as well for you. Thank you for caring so much about those of us that love your Planet Zoo content! Your builds are always so awesome and I can't wait to see where you go with everything moving forward.

One thing I adore about all of your builds, and it's the thing that keeps me coming back... is how you much you clearly love environmental story telling. It is FASCINATING how you manage to weave these stories into your builds. I absolutely love it, especially as a writer myself ^^

Very impressive build! I’m enjoying all the lore behind Elderwood and I can’t wait to see what else this place has in store.
As someone who runs a reptile rescue, I know many people like Barry. It sucks, especially when they are well known, looked up to by others and can sometimes be lovely people. Sometimes we can take on way too much. We stop caring for ourselves, so we don’t care for our animals. It happens all the time. Barry should downsize his workload and go to therapy, it usually works for us, real reptile keepers!

The amount of time you spent on the interior of this building is crazy amazing. It looks awesome. I think the habitats look really nice.
I love reptile houses and rooms in zoos. It's one of the top things I want to see (right above a child being eaten by a hippo). You always manage to make these builds feel real but with a soul of an interesting story of Barry. Keep up the great work and I can't wait to see what you come up with in the future.

Loving the psychological analysis twist this section comes with. That unconventional, maybe slightly unhinged backstory to your builds is why I love this series so much. No realism, just vibes! You could upload an hour long speedbuild and I know I'd still watch.

Tbh, as much as I love planet zoo, I haven't really been interesting in the game, EXCEPT for bis' videos. There's something, maybe your humour, voice, building skills and story telling, but this is the only yt channel with planet zoo videos that I can't stop myself from watching and loving!
So, I really appreciate the time you take when creating each habitat and it's background story, I can't even count the hours I've spent watching the BestInSlot channel. You're my comfort youtuber

I’m glad you’ll continue to play this game. I found your channel through evolution content but these planet zoo videos are super entertaining. I’ve always loved zoos and aquariums so seeing a game where you can pretty much build anything without limitations is awesome!
Recently found this and have been binging the entire series. It's so gorgeous and I love the national park aesthetic, especially with the horse area. I really loved the wild look of it. This whole series just gives me so much inspiration.
Loving these vids & the Reptile House! Rad Reptile Run maybe? As in an animal run/pen/enclosure? I can't play PZ but love watching your Elderwood series, gives me inspiration for building in other games. As you were talking about Bonkers Barry-Bob having a run in with the Mafia, I started picturing an Elderwood Fisherman moonlighting as a Mafia Boss 🤣 Love the tree bursting out of the ground btw, that looks awesome! Just a suggestion for the Croc Entrance, is it possible in PZ to actually fade the paint/plastic (maybe different hues of same colour?) to create a more weathered look, rather than destroyed? As you said in last vid, it'd be a shame to put cracks all through it. Also, it might not be easy to come up with jokes for the signs (ref Alligator sign), but I appreciate them all the same 🙂
This is a fantastic build. I've always wanted to build a reptile house in Planet Zoo myself, but never managed to make something I liked, but this is quite inspiring. Keep up the great work!

I do want to see more of Elderwood so I'm gonna give you some positive feedback. I LOVE this build. You are the only person i know yhat can mix destruction with a good looking zoo, and is able to make exhibits that look just as good during the day as at night. Your Planet Zoo videos are my favorites! I always watch new ones if I see them on my sub feed, I love how creative your parks are and how much time you put into making everything look interesting and natural
I love the warehouse feel of this reptile house, it makes it feel different from other reptile houses I've seen (both irl and in-game). As others have pointed out, you have improved significantly since the beta and Blackrock. I always end up building huge tropical houses, and I do mean huge, which I think come from the ones I've seen, including the Lied Jungle house. The one I'm building now has a glass tunnel through an Orang/Gibbon exhibit and a bridge through a sloth walk-through, and I am severely procrastinating on finishing it up. I discovered that the walk-throughs can be suspended in the air with no floor though it would still need a path, so maybe a rickety bridge through a thick forest for the sloths (the trees to cover the platforms).
This is the first video I have watched of you and the idea of that zoo is so interesting. Definitely watching in the future!

I love this series so much! The aesthetics are so beautiful and soothing.
I'm not even 5 minutes in and I'm laughing so hard at the idea of the reptile house Mafia... But on a more serious note, I kinda like that idea that Barry started on a more earnest, caring path where he wanted to do something good for people and animals alike -- and that things gradually spiraled. (Though now I'm curious how that's going to manifest in the next few exhibits......)
This reptile house is so dense and detailed... You can see how much work you put into it. It definitely will be a shame to see it destroyed.....but you can always save a version of the file where the intact reptile house can live on forever. But yeah, the number of species you worked in there, and all the thought you put into it.... I love the glass skylight section -- that turned out so well! It can be so hard to make glass roofs look right. I'm also a fan of the lights you put up.
Also, I personally don't mind a slightly longer video from slowing the timelapse. It can be fun seeing how you build some of these things.
Another thought regarding the fishing town: You could have an old, run-down warehouse that's been repurposed somehow. An old warehouse, or a shipyard, or something of that nature -- something a bit industrial. Given the location, could be a sawmill or something like that, too. (Suddenly I'm thinking of that place in Days Gone where you bumped into the massive zombie horde....) Maybe it started as a fishing town, then had an industrial era that took over the waterfront, but now that bit has decayed and been turned into something else.
i love the attention to all the small little details in the lights and how it plays a big role when the zoo is set to night time, and again its wonderful following these builds honestly can't get enough.
i have been going through some of your older builds in planet zoo and its so interesting to see the story and zoo come together with these details

The reptile house at my local zoo also has a special place in my childhood memories, but for that reason I've been nervous to try to build one in-game, so props to you for this beautiful one.

Berry is the Elderwood version of Joe Exotic. You have the best story telling of any planet zoo player. I love it! The hanging plants hanging down from the celling are a super cool touch. The memorial section is such a fun idea too. :) (The alligators could 100% climb the over the glass in real life....good thing its not real life! haha)
That touch pool on the billboard embedded in rock is a such a cool idea! Definitely stealing it. Incredible that this only took you 6 hours, it would take me three times as long xD
ALSO there are brush sizes in between 1 and 2! The hotkeys for making the brush larger / smaller are the square brackets. There are 3 sizes between 1 and 2 - 1.25, 1.5, and 1.75. I discovered it by accident because I work in Photoshop a bunch, and those are the hotkeys for increasing and decreasing brush size :)

The reptile house gives the chance to bring old creatures back from previous zoos, while still using animals which BIS has not used yet: like the Alligator and the Bullfrog.
