They reunited after 40 years and they released a new album "Voyage", now in their late 70's. I love 2 songs from that album: "Don't shut me down" and "I still have faith in you". Amazing, Agnetha and Frida still have amazig voices. Kiss from Portugal. Ana
ABBA is reunited after 40 years and released a new studioalbum, ABBA VOYAGE, in 2021, with 10 new songs. There are also a vitual concert with Abbatars in London wich opened in 2022.
This is their 10th no1 album in 2021.(no1 in 18 countries not to mention it being top 5 almost everywhere).Btw their concerts in London have overpassed a dazzling 1,6 million ticket sales up to now, since they set off in May '22.
Great to see you so appreciative of my childhood/early teenage obsession. Even in the late seventies when my tastes evolved into UK punk/post-punk and real alternative stuff I stubbornly maintained the fixation, despite my brother giving me endless grief. I think time has vindicated me. A dozen perfect songs off the top of my head: SOS; Knowing Me Knowing Knowing You; Money Money Money; Chiquitita; Eagle; The Visitors; Supertrouper; The Name of the Game; I Let The Music Speak; Lay All Your Love On Me; Take a Chance On Me; and of course today's subject. Impossible to imagine my experience of music without them.
Absolutely! I will wave the ABBA flag for sure lol. Funny how those who poke fun at us who love ABBA always seem to know their song lyrics? Interesting! But yes, I grew up with all those great songs too. One of the greatest bands I know! 🤘🤘🤘
Being one of the proud swedes here, born in ´68, I have to say I am surprised about the lyrics written back then (probably by Björn), amazing! They, for sure, contribute to the total experience! Cheers from Sweden, sir! 🙂More, please?
ABBA in the begining two swedish couples: Agnetha (blonde singer) & Björn (guitarist songwriter) Benny (pianist songwriter) & Anni Frida (brunette singer) both couples separated before the breakup of ABBA in 1982: Agnetha & Björn at end of 1978 Benny & Frida at begin 1981 "The winner takes it all" (1980) is one of the Best Songs by ABBA and the Most sad and emotional too The best lyrics by the guitarist Björn and the greatest performing with the amazing Interpretation of the blonde singer Agnetha Fältskog and her soprano voice The lyrics is a fiction about a divorce, it is not about Their real life, although it is obviously influenced by Their own experiences and the realization of the legal divorce between Agnetha & Björn in the middle of 1980, even though They were no longer a couple or lived together more than a year and half ago, at the end of 1978 In fact, the song was more nearly in time to the split of Benny & Frida as a couple, only a few months later the Official Video with more than 120 millions views in UA-cam, was filmed on July 12 (1980), is a Masterpiece as the song it shows the blonde singer Agnetha alone so sad and remembering happy times, and the others members so nice together, a perfect example of contrast feelings It's the first ABBA vídeo with images in black and white about Their previous history, to introduce us in the context; I think it's their best official video but just as a great performance by Agnetha is seen in these video, almost like a dramatic actress, transmitting the sorrow, anguish and pain, there are also videos in the back room of the filming, which show the four cheerful and funque These is a TV perfomanece in Germany 1980, also there's other more in France 1980 "The winner takes it all" return ABBA to the Top of the charts, gives ABBA their eighth #1 in UK after almost two years and half Also was the fourth and last Top10 to ABBA in U.S (pick at #8 in 1981) and #1 in US Adult Contemporary too "The winner takes it all" was voted the Best ABBA song by the British fans, and is the favourite ABBA song to the blonde singer Agnetha and now in the new Voyage concerts at London that begins exactly one year before, the encore song is... "The winner takes it all" For a new reaction I suggest "Super Trouper" (1980) the last #1 to ABBA in UK with the brunette singer Frida in lead voice I wish to You a great week and a Happy New Year (like an ABBA song from 1980 too) my best regards from Buenos Aires , Argentina 🇦🇷 South America
Agnetha , at that time had a B2 _ F 7 range the widest range of any Soprano in over FORTY years... At 7:16 of your channal she holds an F5 for over 14 seconds....World Class singing
If you don't know the backstory, back in the day, Bjorn (guitarist) and Agnetha (the blond singer) were married, but had hit a hard spell that would eventually end in divorce. Bjorn wrote this song for Agnetha during that period. In this performance she is singing (live, I think) a breakup song written for her by her soon to be ex-husband. We have Bjorn on stage right, Agnetha a few feet away from him, and Frida and Benny off to the side. So can we all just agree that Agnetha has emotional nerves of steel to carry this performance off. And Frida and Benny were trying to keep it together as well. Hell, I can't even hear this song without tearing up.😪
You should definitely check out their new (as of 2022) album Voyage. It's mind boggling how good it is, considering they are all in their 70s! Also for some contemporary Agnetha, check out: ua-cam.com/video/x4H9UDz1H6g/v-deo.html

I can't imagine ANYONE else doing this song.

ABBA in the begining two swedish couples:
Agnetha (blonde singer) &

Benny (pianist songwriter) &
Anni Frida (brunette singer)
both couples separated before the breakup of ABBA in 1982:
Agnetha & Björn at end of 1978
Benny & Frida at begin 1981
"The winner takes it all" (1980)
is one of the Best Songs by ABBA
and the Most sad and emotional too
The best lyrics by the guitarist Björn
and the greatest performing with the amazing Interpretation
of
the blonde singer Agnetha Fältskog and her soprano voice
The lyrics is a fiction about a divorce,
it is not about Their real life,
although it is obviously influenced by Their own experiences
and the realization of the legal divorce between Agnetha & Björn in the middle of 1980,

It's the first ABBA vídeo with images in black and white about Their previous history,

but just as a great performance by Agnetha is seen in these video,
almost like a dramatic actress, transmitting the sorrow, anguish and pain,
there are also videos in the back room of the filming, which show the four cheerful and funque
These is a TV perfomanece in Germany 1980, also there's other more in France 1980
"The winner takes it all" return ABBA to the Top of the charts,
gives ABBA their eighth #1 in UK after almost two years and half
Also was the fourth and last Top10 to ABBA in U.S (pick at #8 in 1981)

"Super Trouper" (1980)
the last #1 to ABBA in UK

I wish to You a great week
