I’ve been learning from Guru Jyoti Rout since I was 5 years old. Jyoti Apa and the other teachers of JKM are no less than a mother figure to me, who gave me ample of love, affection, taught me whatever little I know about this dance form. Through this dance form I got introduced to Indian culture, mythology and so much more. Apa tells us the story first before we start any dance item, so when we dance, we know how to express our emotions. She not only teaches us dance, but also, she teaches other things about life and how we can deal with difficult problems. I always look forward to my dance class with Apa.
