Are you considering moving abroad for better opportunities? In today's video, we dive deep into the question: "Is life better in the USA or India?" We explore various aspects such as job markets, healthcare, cost of living, education, and quality of life to help you make an informed decision.
In the USA, tech jobs are booming with salaries that might seem attractive, but what about the hidden costs like high taxes and living expenses? Conversely, India offers a vibrant tech scene and a strong cultural connection but struggles with higher unemployment rates and political challenges in climbing the career ladder.
We also discuss the educational differences, work-life balance, and the emotional cost of living away from home. From Silicon Valley to Bangalore's tech hubs, we compare what it truly costs to live in these tech giants' playgrounds.
Whether you're a student dreaming of studying abroad, a professional looking to advance your career, or someone longing for a better quality of life, this video provides the insights you need to weigh your options between the USA and India.
Don't forget to check out our sponsor, Mpower, for opportunities to finance your dreams of studying abroad.

Education is by far the BEST in USA, no comparison to it in entire world. Students from all over the world come to USA every year and settle here. Initial struggles exist everywhere. But USA is by far the best to settle! My parents always said settle wherever you like, meet me once a year, be over the phone, thats all!! I am in USA for 23 years and its the best decision of my life!!

I have 2 food stalls, where in 1 i sell Chinese fast food, and in 1 I sell Tibetian fast food in the Small city of Odisha, since last 2 years by god's grace I have been making around 3.5 to 4.2 lakh per month after deducting expenditure. + I save a lot by not giving complete Incom tax, so there are lot of opportunities around here, you just need to keep your ego down to work in the streets.

I agree with a lot of points. It is very difficult to change your career in india. I studied B.Arch but didnt want to pursue designing so i tried getting into computer science. It was extremely difficult as most of the companies do not accept non -IT graduates even for internships. And even after entering a job i was relegated to only operations and support roles. Due to my degree i was not able to get into better roles. After hundreds of failed applications i had to remove my bachelors degree from my resume and only then did i even get interviews. The label of being a B.Arch graduate was the worst thing in my resume.

I agree with you Yudi. There is too much friction and competition in India. I study at IIT D in a non cse branch and getting a cse course is next to impossible here and professors will not entertain your emails if you're not from the same department. Its a nightmare!! A single class of a popular course has over 500 people. The companies coming for interns and placements all have strict restrictions against non cse guys.
There is no concept of standard of living in India

If you have to do Business India is the best place to be right now , and if you want to do a job just find a way of getting out of India asap . I moved to US and my salary for same work was 9 X from day one with less hours and there’s no upper limit , 10 years of work and you can retire in India with that money .

In my opinion USA is good for earning money but not for settling. Stay in the USA for few years, save the dollars and that will be a fortune once you return to India. I am working in the USA for past one year and I've already paid off 20 lakhs home loan and if I stay for another 2 years I'll pay off fully. In India it would've taken 15 years.

Here is a comparison of the quality of life and earnings for IT professionals in India vs the USA:
    Quality of Life:
    - Cost of Living: The cost of living in major Indian cities is significantly lower than in the USA, especially for housing, utilities, and consumer goods. This allows for a higher standard of living on the same salary.
    - Work-Life Balance: IT professionals in India tend to work longer hours compared to their US counterparts. The work culture in India is generally more demanding.
    - Healthcare: Healthcare costs are lower in India, but the quality and accessibility of healthcare can be variable, especially outside major cities.
    - Infrastructure: The infrastructure, public transportation, and amenities in the USA are generally more developed and reliable compared to India.
    Earnings:
    - Salaries: IT salaries in the USA are significantly higher than in India, often 2-3 times more for comparable roles and experience levels.
    - Bonuses & Stock Options: IT professionals in the USA have more opportunities for lucrative bonuses, stock options, and equity-based compensation compared to India.
    - Tax Rates: The tax rates for high-income earners are generally lower in the USA compared to India.
    Per Capita Income:
    - USA: The per capita income in the USA is around $63,000 per year.
    - India: The per capita income in India is around $2,100 per year.
So in summary, while the cost of living is much lower in India, the overall earnings potential and quality of life benefits are significantly higher for IT professionals in the USA compared to India. The higher salaries, bonuses, and better infrastructure in the USA tend to outweigh the cost of living advantages in India for most IT workers.

I know many telugu people are there but i believe its not similar for the case of kerala people i think its very less. Is what i said right. Coming from a personal experience, this is so f***ing true man. I feel if someone has good financial backing and support, they should definitely access this privilege of pursuing an education and finding work in the US. It builds you a lot as a person.
Also, the work-life balance part. If you compare with India, US has a better WLB but if you compare US with Europe, Europe sits on the top.

    You covered two points
    1. Edu system & professional growth.+ Money, Far better than India. No doubts
    2. Social life + service /health ,
i). other government services then health of usa gov is better than india like police ,court & judicial system, proper law & order, quality of life , safety against political & money power people - in India one can buy law & justice , in usa no one can.
Service of usa gov is better than india.
ii).Social life of western countries is not too good. Despite of having millions they ended up to die alon !
They are no 1 in consuming antidepressants ! Less trust in relation & less family life. Only money matters.
While on others side in India High value of social life. We can get support from family in every situation of life.
If USA gov Start providing PR to all students & workers then they can sponsor their parents & that would be great.

You didn't even mention one of the most important things - the visa/immigration situation. If you are born in India and come to the US now, there is zero chance that you will get a green card. The best you could hope for is to have kids in the US and when they turn 21, they can sponsor you. Of course, there are other options like EB1/5, but less than 5% can take that route. If you are ready to trade stability, peace of mind and career growth for better financial prospects and quality of life, maybe the US is a good option.

    Hi Brother
I just saw this video as I am in dilemma to move to US or stay in India. Little suggestion and guidance will be really useful.
I have around 11 years of experience working as principal software engineer getting around 27LPA. It took 6 years for principal software engineer role after becoming tech lead. Now I am planning to ask my manager to move me to US team which is located in Texas.
They pay around 110k to 140k per annum for my role. I am planning to ask atleast 130K because I know what I bring to the table.
I am the bread winner for the family and I have 2 kids. What are things I should consider before making a move? Is it right decision to move at the age of 33. What would be roughly the monthly expense if I move from family on high level. I know it differs but a blanket value will help.

    • @YudiJ
      @YudiJ  Місяць тому

I would love to help you.
I think its the right move, and you career will grow. Biggest thing you want to look for is community otherwise it will get very lonely for your wife and kid. Texas is a big state not sure which city you are going to but it has plenty of Indian community like Houston, Dallas, Austin.
You want to figure out the neighborhood you want to live, ideally indian community.
Another thing that you can start thinking about is preparing for talent based visa and NIW. With your experience it looks feasible so you are not tied to just H1b.
Again like you said its hard to give you advice without specifics but I believe good times are coming your way. Just focus on getting around good community.

India is far better than USA in all respects. Money is not only the moto of life. In usa you have no one of your family ( parents and others) and you have to do all work till the end of your life inspite of crores of rs in your bank ac. Your next generation will have no connection and culture of India. Doctor is easy available in India. And there are so many wonderful places to visit in India . In usa you are treated as 2 nd class citizen. So there is no question to compare your homeland with other country. Further in old age you can' t look after your parents when you should be with obviously this is my opinion

Since you've listed the pros, here are the cons-
If you are general you are sentenced to a bad college in India so that you will never achieve your real potential. You will have to basically 'compete' in JEE or similar which has nothing to do with what your life's actual purpose is. If you join a NIT you will find a lot of the infrastructure there is really bad, even compared to private colleges.
Work culture isn't great in India. The work that you do is not going to be cutting edge since you didn't graduate from any of the top college, since that's nearly impossible to do.
On top of that, there's pollution, lack of basic infrastructure and you already know the rest. Legal framework is a joke.

Many students and fresh graduates in India chase the "American dream," often falling into debt over 1 crore. Ask yourself: who benefits-influencers with sponsors, financial institutions, or universities relying on student funds? Even with a job, paying off such debt takes years. Some are returning with substantial loans, and others are accepting low-paying jobs just to sustain themselves. This topic is subjective, just think rationally when planning.

Bro, You don’t have right facts India’s unemployment rate is 6 not 7 or 7.5%. Yet, it’s a big number.
    Let’s me rebuttle your views,
    1. You can’t compare 2cr or 3cr package in US with 1 CR package in India . There is some thing called PPP , according to which 23 lakhs In india = over 1CR in US.
    2. Don’t speak about American education is great. All the Indian who have succeeded in US are educated in India. It’s our system who makes better engineers it’s a proven fact. US has great Universities but just few great universities doesn’t make US education great. And shit woke education to young high school goings kids and ruining them is known fact.
    3. Employment opportunities- Agree that US is hub of IT sector but the kind of competition present among just Indians itself is so huge in US . People like you who have migrated 10-12 years are complaining same US job market as Fish market. And over contract jobs , new trend of mass laying off without any prior notices , no job security is new trend in US.
Unless and until you have green card, whether OPT or H1B or any work visa you hardly have buffer of 2-6 months post that you should have a payroll and many Indians are already suffering because of it.
    4. No family , no social life , no family , sick society , racial violence , gun culture and what not in US. And India as a society is a heaven as an over all life style and luxury is compared. As you said having to wait for hours before getting treatment.
And there are many more areas where US just sucks, Please don’t sell the US dreams to young under 25 youth because there many such young people who bought it and ruined their life’s in US and have sold everything their parents have earned just to compensate the finances for their US story and its overheads.

Guess you don't understand the big picture. I guess you're unaware of the gun culture in UP/Delhi/Haryana etc just because you don't see it on the fancy media outlets. Lol!
The reason Indians are ruining their future is because we are not taught how to think. We are taught how to follow orders. Be it in India or US or anywhere in the world, a huge majority of people lack clarity. They don't know what to do. They would visit a consultant and do whatever they tell them.
Parents who themselves don't have quality education are decision makers for these kids instead of letting the kid choose their own path.
When you compare 23 lacs in India and 1 cr in US, think about how many people in India are earning more than 18 lacs? The answer is 1%. Only 1% of India is earning more than 18 lacs. When you compare this in US, a good majority of grad students will have that package of close to 1 cr.
Also, people who are successful in US are not successful because they had a good quality education in India (some might have had that), they succeeded because they were smart enough to realise their potential and took the effort to actualise the potential.
The mindset is the problem. Definitely!
