On The 172nd Episode Of #FlipDaScript, The Duo sits down with Cardan (@Cardiland) and for 2 hours & 30 mins they touch on numerous topics, growing up in Harlem, becoming a rapper, being apart of Harlem World & getting kicked out off of the first single & video. Cardan also talks about the impact Dj Clue tapes had & questions Queenzflip hip hop knowledge. Cardan also talks about working with Nelly & not having his paperwork together, even tho he got paid, he feels by not having it together he lost out on millions. #PRESSPLAY
cardan just interviewed himself and it was fire

I respect this man’s pen and his story was interesting and I love how he held himself accountable for not having his publishing together but he got it together later on and kept writing. Creators create.
Good to see Cardan still out here eating. 💰
this is one of the most intellectually AND emotionally intelligent interviews ever on this show, including everyone
Cardan energy is sincere

WORD!!! GREAT LISTENING QUALITIES! 🦾 BUT WHAT I WAS THINKING 💭 MAYBE SOME OF IT WAS DEFLECTION ON FLIP’S PART CAUSE PROB HE FELT JUST A LIL INADEQUATE IN REGARDS TO HIS NORMAL INTERVIEWING PROCESS. OR, HE JUST WANTED TO PUSH THAT TO THE AUDIENCE. PERSONALLY I THINK FLIP WAS INTRIGUED BY THE STORIES AND WANTED TO LISTEN
Like a living hip hop historian. Homie knew a shit ton of heavy weights in the game
Flip is a horrible interviewer he do no research about nothing damn bro act like you know something y'all got those laptop for what? Give the energy to G-Money bruh
That ain't no laptop that's either a lunchbox or elaborate coloring book 😁
Word
I like the fact that he wasn’t too intrigued by the street life! It raised him, cause he grew up in it though but that’s where it stopped for him...
@Know TheLedge u buggin cam was juggin.
@Know TheLedge Cam was hustling and playing ball in high school
You ppl not from NYC dont know lol, cam was a street dude that played ball and went to school it's really that simple

His death is still puzzling to me. On his DVD it says he committed suicide I don’t believe it.
Word 💰💰💰💰
I enjoyed listening to Cardan and give new perspectives from someone who has had some light but can move in and out of it and moves a lot behind the scenes. He's getting more money than many rappers who put out something every 2-3 yrs.
Amazing interview we need more of this guy!

him being 15 makes me look at the story differently. the way ms tee said it was like he took a grown mans chain.
Cardan had flip stuck on stupid the whole interview. He controlled the narrative the whole time, who else has done that up there ? Salute to Flip for finally letting the guest speak.
You guys need to get BuckShot, Black Moon and Boot Camp Clik on here! 👈🏾

Damn Mase and Cam should of brought the young homie up, they used to kill those Clue freestyles, Shout out to Cardan though, good interview
Unlike Mase,Cam actually wanted to sign Cardan to Diplomat Records. However he respectfully declined and Cam had Juelz join Dipset instead
@@dtraversodt yeah I think he would of been better Solo but on a Calabed with him on different projects
Hell yeah
@@dtraversodt where u hear that? Cardan was never gonna be part of diplomats! Cam didn’t even want Juelz either they force Santana on killa

Lol flip confirms what I thought about a lot of immigrant black folks. Some of them are culture vultures and grew up with an interest in other cultures before assimilating to black American culture. I don’t remember ever “getting into” hip hop because it’s been a part of my life for as long as I can remember.
I said the same thing smh
I'm from Newark and is considered an old head now. But are there ANY Black American rappers poppin from NYC anymore? Bobby Shmurda and GS9, Pop Smoke, Nick Blixby, Casanova, CJ, Fivio, 69, Nikki Minaj, Cardi B, etc are all from a carribean heritage. Where's the young Black American rappers in NYC?
@@al5603 damn they deleted my comment for some reason, hmm. Anyway nah black Americans have pretty much been erased in nyc like they have been in hip hop. Partly our fault since we always wanna give away our culture. And all those people you named have been destructive to black American society.
@@nahson7661 Word, even on these hip hop stations you're seeing more and more white and latino on air personalities. Just like Harlem, Brooklyn, D.C. and a bunch of other places are getting gentrified, Black radio is too. Shit is sad.
@@al5603 yup, my original comment said that we are partly to blame. We didn’t set boundaries with latinos and West Indians and allowed them to bring their most negative cultural influences here, and blend in under African Americans. NotIce how all those Caribbean’s u mentioned bring nothing but negativity and darkness to the rap game...

Cardan has such great energy! Love this one Flip. Salute!
So flip is exactly like Star, they grew up listening to Rock n Roll, but not rap at all...no wonder his clueless half of the times
My nigga! That ain't nothing new. Not all Black people grew up listening to only Rap.
please flip grew up on rap
Mainstream music during Flip's era (and those of us alike) was predominately rock and pop. Rap didn't really become mainstream (the music of choice which dominated the charts) untill the late 90s/early 2000s.
@@Hizzoner21 no way lol rap was prominent during flips Era he likes rap he just grew up with Jamaican and hatian parents who played the oldies
@@shesbaldbutiwould 100%. What I'm saying is, it wasn't inconceivable for someone blk growing up in the 80s/90s who favored rock and pop (not sure of Flip's age). I'm proof of it. I bleed Golden Era hip hop from the mid to late 90s, but I grew up in a household where Madonna, Phil Collins, Sade, Prince got major play bc that's what the radio played - Top 40 hits. Rap was never really considered 'Top 40 music' (not saying rappers never cracked the list, but it was rare).
This Interview was fire ,I always wanted to hear Cardan perspective on the issue. that Clue Freestyle was fire still till this Day. I feel he still got more say ... Bars Great interview

@Tony Wilson baby maine was killed due to an unrelated incident not this one!
Pop shot mane by accident he said and then mane put money on someone in pop crew head and the kids friend picked up the hit and then mane was hanging with the kid and made it public so it was widespread mane for him killed so he ended up getting killed which was only a matter of time but it all stemmed from mase playing pop against mane it was all cause mase fkd mane girl and made an interlude and song about it on his Harlem

Cardan- keep in mind I was young so I never knew I can run real fast on the treadmill
Me stfu 😭😭😭
Huh?
Yo if yall peep it G money fucks wit cardan HEAVY 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
If a major threat was trying to get Mase’s attention and was trying to get through the weak link of the chain through a vulnerable spot then i see why mase ended his involvement with cardan. He didnt want to risk his life protecting or having to make chess moves over his “friend” who’s still a young teenager. Even if he could make money of cardans success that wasnt a sure shot, deading the relationship made the issue go away essentially.
I didn’t look at it that way
Nelly can work with another ....um ....producer. In whatever capacity he worked on Hot in Herre he should be set for life. I hate seeing super nice artist create and get no credit when they are dope rappers themselves... Like King Los and Young Chris and Cardan....the industry is crazy.
