The difference between 14 psi to 10 psi can be huge and then the difference between 10 psi to 6 psi also huge , in this situation going as low as that may have just done the trick
Should have used your spare tyre to winch up the hill. You use it standing up with the winch rope going over it. It will help pull the front of you vehicle upwards.

Yeah. It's windy this time of year on that east coast. I have heard alot of people turn around and camp somewhere without the wind.
