I’ve always wondered if what if Anakin still cut off Mace’s hand but then when Palpatine started to kill mace, Anakin blocked the lightning. Or somehow saved mace.
Kinda makes sense. Each time, even in what ifs, Anakin almost never saw Palpatines red saber in those moments. I say almost cuz there are what ifs that this PTSD isn’t present and Anakin still sided with Palpatine. But logically speaking, it’s because Palpatine is about to be killed by a crazed Jedi master is what really tips Anakin to betray the Jedi.
He WAS losing anyway. The whole "I can't go on any longer" bit was showmanship for Anakin. He knew he had to LOOK defeated and about to be killed for Anakin to buy his pitch.
Okay and one more, what if ideas But what if Obi wan could use Battle Meditation, making him truly the greatest general of the clone wars (maybe he can see Shan’s force ghost and is trained by her when consulting the force for clarity after Qui Gon’s death)
Another what if idea - What if Palpatine was a Sith, but genuinely did care about the republic and was a good chancellor with no fake war, but a real war just lead by dooku and corporate elites?
@@RFDN0 well remember he only kidnapped the original palpatine because he wasn’t actually his enemy and allowed that to happen. If sidious hadn’t met dooku before the yaddle fight, there’s still a chance that dooku would leave the order still, making dooku the main villain. I’m just brainstorming though this timeline might have some plot holes depending on a lot of things
@NarnaKryze I mean, the republic would not have a military, or most likely if it had the same amount of military, then Dooku would have just been significantly more dangerous as he had enough military to take over the Galaxy and burn down Coresunt day 1 of the clone wars.

Can still commission the clone army behind the Jedi’s back, maybe actually prevent them from fighting and just trying to beat dooku’s droid army with clones alone - the fight turns bad for the republic and then that’s when the other Jedi might step up out of necessity instead of voluntarily. Then that will be when they discover he’s a Sith but maybe they team up to finally stop dooku. If chancellor palpatine beats dooku without the Jedi’s help, he can spin it like they did nothing for the people of republic. Jedi exodus instead of genocide? Who fights back? Legitimately democratic order 66?? Lots of possibilities
What if Palpatine used the world between worlds to try killing first Jedi before they could found the Jedi order, but he accidentally becomes the messiah for an even more powerful Jedi order in the process? I'm imagining something akin to Monty Python's The Life of Brian.

How about Vader knew Leia was his daughter when her pain at seeing her man get tortured made he mind scream out. That mental scream Vader acknowledges. He then takes Leia away for DNA & Midiclorian testing. Luke shows up on Bespin. He feels Leia nearby. Vader tells his daughter that her twin brother has shown up. And go from there.

I think this stoey was kind of tragic in a way, wholesome yes. But it was ancient and kind of like LOTR, evil vs good, old religions and armies and sects vs ancient rivals. It's kind of a statement of how old and how much history there is with the jedi. There's should've been more evil and more sects that could threaten the jedi. It would've been interesting to explore a GALAXY worth of war, history and nattles. I think at a large scale, the jedi are way more than they are potraid as.

Here’s a what if for you. What if Anakin trained in the dark side separate from the rule two, after the battle of gronosis. My thinking is since Anakin focuses on becoming a physical powerhouse after his fight with Dooku, his reason for going to the dark side, this early on would be for power to beat the Sith. Also, it would be interesting to see how Palpatine assesses Anakin after studying the dark side for years. Would Palpatine think he is worth taking as an apprentice or would he be too much of an immediate threat to him.
