Look at how LJ dances here and moves with the beat; You can tell a lot of their early music was highly influenced by a funky sound like old James Brown. If Black was played with less distortion and a softer drum beat it'd be a groovy dance tune for example. Makes his huge soulful vocal seem even more fitting.
I was at this show! It was free you had to show up in the morning for a wristband and then come back that evening for the show. It was all GA and they literally played the whole thing 4 times over for all the different angles. They also in between takes would take requests from the crowd where they’d play covers. They played probably 4 Pantera songs, nobody covers those classics like seven dust!
Seeing this band live in a small venue was one of the highlights on my rock and roll life. There is something so awesome about hearing a new band like this, and then seeing them live and have them totally shatter your expectations.
If there was a fee 💰 to watch this I’d pay it. Can’t thank u enough for this. Christmas Eve 2020 I’m on tequila, weed and cocaine watching this. It’s pure happiness on this side 🤘🏽
Hey thanks for the upload. Kicks ass. I think they where at Ozzfest 2000. I can't remember some of it. This sounds awesome as well. Subbed. I just checked your page, lots of good shows. I used to go to every show I could. Had to travel at least 4-6 hours for a concert then. Tool, and Metallica are the last 2 on my list.
Not going to lie I used to love Sevendust, their self title debut album was criminally underrated, songs like Black, To Close to Hate and Ruin are some killer songs and then their second album happened, 'Home' to me 'Home' lost that edge, groove and Heavy sound, I just lost interest in the band, but I'm really happy the band is still around these days, hopefully they are all doing well.
You should revisit them. I felt the same way after their 3rd album came out but have since gotten back into them. Kill the Flaw, Truth Killer, and Animosity (yes, the 3rd album I gave up on them on) are all good. Others are probably good too. They’ve aged way better than most bands from those days.
I got a brother hug from LajoN on stage in Las Vegas about 20 years ago.....☝️jumped up over a 4 foot barrier, over security’s heads.... this female security was gonna grab my leg as I was in the air.. and decided against it for some reason?!?! as a dare from some dude and his friend standing next 2 me and wife > right at the barrier. with at least 7-8 security personnel in between the stage and us....☝️I was LIT UP with alcohol 🍺 🍺🍺🍺 🍺🍺🍺🍺 and decided to Jump..... I was balancing on the fence with wife holding one of my legs to help me stay up. >lajoN was facing his drummer and when he turned I was there.( brother hugged) last song luckily!> I was being escorted out the back corridor to metro police 👮♀️ by a big ass bouncer!> he seen us throughout the whole show and knew I wasn’t a threat.... as he was commanded to take me to them, he decided to turn me around and pointed to this BIG STEEL DOOR☝️and told me 2 go through it... I opened it and the door was over the main concert floor a few feet high. And I jumped back in the crowd and left Very Happy!🎸🎼🥁🎼☝️🇺🇸GODFAMILYCOUNTRY 🇺🇸🙏🏻
I feel like crowds nowadays look dead af because its full of older people trying to reminisce and relive the old days, and they kinda just stand there, the whole crowd used to be moshing now its just a small pit.
Well, everyone has there opinions, but I like all of sevendust's albums. My favorites though were the first 4 albums. Sevendust, home, animosity, and seasons.

Thanks for saving my time. Came here for Licking Cream, not here, bye ..

I was there too!!! It was freakin great, i have 3 unopened VHS copies of the vid!!! Nothing beats the Metro
Who’s here in 2024? Found these guys a couple years ago, no one does it better. Have these guys playing constantly while at the gym

This video has NO DISLIKES and that's the way it should absolutely stay! SEVENDUST HAS ARRIVED!
No one can dislike Sevendust
There's one fucking dislike, you jinxed it
@@michaelpfaff7070 Now there's two. 😔
*two pricks join the chat* sorry brother
SEVENDUST HAS ARIIVED
The good old day's!!! The 90's were a very special time in music!!!
I fucking love this band!!
Morgan back there w the vocals while shredding the skins 👌🤘
The quality of this production is too notch! Sevendust for life!
So freaking under rated.
Exactly bro. I genuinely don’t get why they aren’t as well known.
How could you not just love it? Bone crunching heavy riffs with soul and emotion mixed in.
Probably one of the sickest intros to anything I've seen in a hot minute...
Una chimba... abrazo grande desde Medellín Colombia
One of the best bands on the planet period my biggest inspiration as a black metal head 🤘🏼🎸🥁💚🖤
These dude still are kicking ass 25 year later
they're still rocking with energy, that's crazy.
Their new album "Truth Killer" is great!
The cameraman in the crowd had very challenging work to do
Saw this in my H. school days ever since I've been a fan long live seven Dust.
And this was just from their first album. Not many bands get that audience from their first album.
The radio station actually played them and promoted the hell out of this event. It was great
There were only 600 people there. You had to get wristbands in the morning and come back in the evening for the taping.
This band can sound better in a concert then in the actual albums
One of the most underrated bands of all time! Absolutely incredible!! I wish I could see them before it’s too late
Sevendust 🤘🤘🤘🎸🎧🎹🔊😎
Early 7D shows were some of the best times of my life! Small clubs, HUGE energy! Thanks for this upload.
Small venues are the best
So underrated
lol it's so high energy a dude gets up on stage right at the beginning and LJ cant even get going on the first verse
PowerFULLL Performance the crowd made it dat much better !!!
rocks so hard, greetings from Berlin Germany
I remember in 98 or 99 being in elementary school up late and this was on local Detroit tv around midnight. Been a fan ever since
The good Ole times....7d forever
Holy smokes that’s a rock n roll crowd!
I was there! GREAT SHOW!
Just crazy remembering John like that! Such good times back then!!
😂 I know!
Awesome! I was there! They rocked the Metro! Thanks for sharing! I actually got in the video after Black 6:20
Awesome!
Great band, great energy and sound x

I used to watch Retrospect every other day after school!
what a dope concert
WOW thank you for this major part of nu-metal history!
Fuck me they sound SO GOOD

Still hear & hear in 2022
2:54 - Pushing some middle-aged dad off the stage 🤣🤣🤣
What a show, whole band was on 🔥 and LJ’s voice sounded killer!!
I was at this show in '98.
You have to respect a band like this that just does a nonstop whirlwind tour for hundreds of days and doesn't quit. They came out swinging!
Spettacolare!!!!!!!!! Puro poder!!!!!
I'm more a man of extreme metal but this band has changed my life AND my taste too
Brutal!
Phenomenal band! Not one bit of talent wasted.
Lajon is so dreamy
Love the old stuff .. up until alpha , the new stuff I have too really hear I’m stuck on old albums lol
'Kill the flaw' is a good place to start and work your way backwards and forwards from there. It's my favourite since the return of Clint Lowery
@@Snaffdude Kill The Flaw is my second favorite album. Animosity is number one
Listen to Kill The Flaw, Black Out The Sun and Cold Day Memory
I own this on vhs
Me too! Factory sealed still!🤘🏻🤘🏻

Atlanta legends
I don’t know any other band that has a drummer doing vocals that are major keys to these songs
🇲🇽🤘🏼

the power of drop tunning xd
Da hora mermão
They have some heavy ass southern accents going on lol
They are from Atlanta.
Straight Testosterone, still absolutely untouchable today, I feel bad for the current generation having what is considered "rock" music today.
I feel like crowds nowadays look dead af because its full of older people trying to reminisce and relive the old days, and they kinda just stand there, the whole crowd used to be moshing now its just a small pit.
Completely missed the point of my comment.
@@shamrock32 the music is still good it’s the crowd that makes it seems bleh
@@shamrock32 is my point
Buen nu metal
I hate how they always get lumped into Nu Metal. They were in a league all their own. Totally unique sound.
Playlist?
Look again at comments.
How is 30 minutes a full HQ concert?
Full because it's the entire concert. HQ because it was ripped/uploaded in its original quality.
Editing?
It was their debut album. How long do you think the one album is?
Been there from the start. Miss the old 7dust. Not diggin their new stuff....
completely agree
You need to clean your ears once a decade!
@@johnnyjohnson6815 True but you like what you like and I don't like the newer stuff. Simple.;)
That's why they have like 20 albums. It's to make everyone happy, no matter what you're in the mood for.
