Aidan Turner has my vote!!
Turner looks more like James Bond. Armitage's eyes are too beady and he has zero body hair. Turner has a bit of a young Sean Connery about him along with the more masculine hairy arms and chest. I also find Turner has a bit more screen presence and his acting is more engaging. Armitage is actually kind of bland on screen.

Am I the only one who finds this very awkward? Everybody has to stand in line waiting, while the Prince has to make smalltalk with everyone while everybody else listens to every word that is said. It just seams so wierd.

That's the British Royal Family for you, bunch of weirdos doing weird stuff to pretend they have a purpose to be called "highness" and be worshiped and given vast fortunes by the British taxpayer along with their enormous extended family. They aren't even British, the monarchy changed their family name around WW1 from Saxe-Coburg-Gotha to Windsor. They are Hanovarian Germans pretending to be somehow pure blood English nobility, and everyone in Britain just buys it and worships them because it gives their lives some make-believe notion of being more exotic.
Don't worry though, Lord Digby Jones has told us we should spend £100 million on a new yacht for the royal family to boost our morale. Yeah, buying the royal family another new £100million yacht is what we need. Not, you know, a government that isn't utterly corrupt and incompetent, a massive wealth gap and criminal under-funding of vital public services.

Yes, in their culture that is a royal family member, not your buddies at the pub, so doing formal events like this can often be looked at as weird when you compare it to trivial everyday social encounters
All props to prince William making conversation to everyone. He seemed to enjoy it. Bet he loved the movie. For all you Yanks: it’s just like your President having to meet and greet ok?
I really can't believe that all those gentlemen in suit are the 13 dwarves of THE HOBBIT. They all look like the most respectable actors of today.

we waste our life with watching this absolute 20 mins of nonsense just to see our fav actor one more time while cant hear them a bit. seems like a good way to waste my time though. #fangirling
As a Brit, I can tell you that the Duke (and the Duchess) do seem very down-to-earth and are very popular here.

The lady stood behind Richard is his mum. How lovely that he took her to the Royal premiere, she must have beyond proud.
Prince William is telling Richard how much he loved him on Robin Hood.
That's because Richard is the perfect gentleman who would always show respect where respect is due! And the little girl is probably being raised by a wonderful mother (just like Richard's!)! :-)
Prince William is very skilled & talented in many areas with a great memory to be able to talk to so many people at all different functions & also work as an Air Rescue Pilot which really shows his dedication to peoples needs....

I've never seen Peter look so dapper. And compared to Prince William, height-wise, he IS a Hobbit! Fran Walsh looks beautiful, it's so rare for her to make any form of public appearance. I wonder if that was Peter's son he shook hands with before he shook hands with Katie....Sylvester still dresses like he would be playing the Doctor....what the heck can be said about Richard that hasn't already been said God only knows how many times, Jimmy just looks like Jimmy....Aidan looks delectable, his girlfriend Sarah looks gorgeous, Deano's girlfriend looks a bit flashy, Adam and Peter...very dapper....I don't think John can dress without some sort of flare of color, I'm surprised Mark behaved himself, Jed's just flipping awesome, that almost looks like Jimmy's younger daughter behind Stephen, and just look at Martin and Amanda....
I have never seen pictures of Richard Armitage's father but from this video he resembles his mother.

Thank you, RA Central, for uploading all those clips. It's really enhancing my evenings to watch them: it's just great to see Richard's talent recognised! I used to to hope he would be Bard but Thorin's role is even better!
He also gets prepped extensively for events like this. He most likely has people do research and compile a bio. on each the actors/filmmakers dealing with their accomplishments, their interests, etc. So he can study and memorize. But yeah, I bet you have to have a great memory and great conversational skills for this sort of thing.

Think its the camera angle ..since the cameraman is behind prince William...he looks taller ...Richard Armitage is almost of same height..6'2"/6'3"...not much of a difference, sometimes even a hairstyle can make one look 2" taller!

@@martinen.5025 She couldn’t have seen him looking more handsome and well dressed than he is now. I wasn’t a fan of the character, Thorin, not even in the book. I thought Mr. Armitage did an excellent job of bringing Thorin to life because I disliked Thorin even more!

Also, that he's into The Hobbit with The Lord Of The Rings books, since his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, has met the author before he died.

How silly to not have the real audio for this. I would've been worth watching then.
I would have hated this! Sort of like when you were in school and the teacher would go around the class room and have everyone say a little something about themselves! Lol And holy moly, never though HRH William was that tall, even Mr. Richard was looking UP at him, lol. Anyway, kudos to them, they all seemed very nice and pleasant given this somewhat awkward "meeting.".

when i was little i loved prince william, but now i think such paying respects is too much... i mean, william seems a very nice person, but what makes him better from other people except from his family tree? he's just a human, like all of us. and of course, being respectful is important, but i just think that this whole "royality" and "prince" thing is useless.
