Of all your stories to explain why these teams are fighting, the battle to stop the spread of Tony Stark's facial hair fashion choices is my favorite so far. I do admit to vague surprise that both Carol and Kamal are fans of the 'stache and goatee look, though. Vison, of course, has been promised nanotechnology hair emulation - which probably gets out of control and spreads worldwide, thereby actually causing the future crisis the Brotherhood is here to prevent. The sad thing is that in one timeline, things turn out even worse. When Vision comes home all hairy Wanda promptly snaps, declares "NO MORE MUSTACHES!" and inflicts facial baldness on the universe. This inevitably leads to Asgard declaring war on mutants, because NO ONE messes with the All-Father's look. To be fair, he does look very sill wearing Sif's golden hair wig as a prosthetic beard...
Great battle report! For future reference, Toad can't steal objective tokens with Finders Keepers. He takes them from allied characters but not from enemies. Also, he can only use Slippery if he takes damage from an attack, and you used it once when he blocked an attack fully. Keep up the great work! Really enjoying the videos.
Fyi, Hulkbuster's Built to Take It triggers when he is targeted by an attack. You don't wait till he takes damage to reduce it for a power, but when an enemy declares him as the target....and of an attack. So not usable vs superpowers ;). I forget this all the time.
@@AegisbrandStudios it's a weird variation of damage reduction. Not sure there is another that is on the targeting. It means you spend excess power thwt you might not have to occasionally, if you use it every attack. Or you risk not spending vs weaker attacks and wind up taking more over the course of the game. All other damage reductions that are reactive appear to be when you suffer the damage which is far superior. Hulkbuster is a beast but he doesn't like to stay in a brawl with anyone who can dish. Much easier for HB to hit and run where he gets out of range hopefully, after blasting or punching.
@@AegisbrandStudios again the issue isn't just an attack vs superpower, its when you use it. You can't use it after attack rolls. It's triggered when he is targeted, so before dice are rolled, which opens up some decisions and repercussions that aren't there if it's only when you suffer damage. Kingpin amd Xbones have that version. HB has a different one. Kinda like he isn't really built to take it, but raises some defensive special effect to counter an incoming attack. Not as good as after you suffer damage imho.
That is a really interesting distinction, and with a quick read, I can certainly see how that trigger can easily get missed. Best I can figure is that because it has the push protection, as well, it has to be done proactively.
Man the dice were cruel today. Only two things I haven’t seen clocked that you guys missed were Ms Marvel in embiggened form gets to roll an extra 2 dice in addition to her 1 for inhumans if she is bigger than the character, and she was bigger than toss. Also at the end, the car terrain damage I thought should have been 1 higher, because it was size 2 (+1) and vision only dodged 1? Keep these up. I love the variety of characters you use. It’s the first time I’ve seen a batrep with Ms Marvel and I think she looks like great fun to play with
Love the builds for avengers here, looks like alot of fun. But you should take a second look at morphogenetics for Ms marvel again, you basically got the whole thing wrong sadly on turn 4 there. I don't know how big the impact on the game would have been at that point (possibly not much).
Love your battle reports but one thing that I find quite off putting is the way you assume your opponents moves or try to lead them into a move. Let them play the turn out how they want, if I was playing against you I would literally call this out.
So, moves are usually discussed off camera, inbetween shots, so rarely does something happen that has not actually been discussed or mused about. In reality, while the video is usually, roughly an hour or so, the actual process of filming is closer to 2 or 2 1/2 hours because of the stuff that does not make it on camera. Having said that, I will be mindful of appearing to lead on their decisions, especially since that is definitely not what is actually happening. I certainly appreciate the feedback, though, and thanks for watching!
I made the mistake of stumbling across a Marvel Crisis battle report a few days ago (am a Warhammer player) and now I can't get enough. And my poor 3D printer is suffering under my new hobby interest. I love your games and your explanations during the reports. I think this game is going to seriously take off much harder than people suspect. Also - Having Stark in his Hulk Buster armor calling out Toad showed us all who the REAL villain of the day is!
Hey, sometimes you just need to show a Toad who's boss! And I am glad you are enjoying the videos! The game is an absolute blast, and I think people are still kind of sleeping on it. But given how it still grew strong during the pandemic, it certainly has legs! Best of luck on your new journey!
Thanks for watching!
Also, realized about half way through the game that the first use of Morpho Punch used the push wrong. Such is life.

Thanks for calling those out! I will be sure to berate my friend appropriately 😛

Yeah, we caught the target of attack text a bit into the game, when we were looking to seeing if he could reduce damage from mutant absorption.

Tony’s first strike 2nd turn was robbery!
I love that Captain Marvel paint scheme. I think I might steal it. for mine. :)
Go for it!

I will do so! She trips me up each time, but I love having a diverse batch of characters on the table
