Happy Halloween Brothers one of my biggest regrets ever not going to see a king diamond concert on Halloween night I had no choice my best friends girlfriend came over unexpectedly and wanted to go trick or treating with him and he was my ride didn't have tickets so I didn't lose money but probably one of the greatest shows I would have ever experienced
Mandatory listening for the unholiest day of the year ever since this album came out! Just discovered the channel and was stoked to see this song. Trevor was undoubtedly one of the most talented lyricists out there and had such a great sense of phrasing with his vocals that elevated his poeticism even further. Since Judson mentioned liking their melodic style, I’d love to hear his thoughts on songs like Everything Went Black, I Will Return, and Raped In Hatred By Vines Of Thorn Dumping a bunch of other random suggestions while I’m here: The instrumentals from Wretched’s first few albums, Winter Madness by Wintersun, Buttersnips, Froggin’ Bullfish, Habitual Line Stepper, and Reptile by Periphery, The Art of Dying by Gojira, Dancers to a Discordant System by Meshuggah, The Hypocrisy by Fleshgod Apocalypse, Stabwound by Necrophagist, Come Hell or High Water by Native Construct, The Lotus Eater by Opeth, Ancient Covenant and I Am by The Faceless, Faust by The Human Abstract, Sumeria and Deconstruction by the Devin Townsend Project, Dreaming Schematics by The Contortionist, Lunar Wilderness and Extremophile Elite by BTBAM, Cockroach King by Haken, Nascent and War Of Being by Tesseract, Bone Marrow and Tongue Splitter by Protest the Hero, Hypnagogia by The Zenith Passage.. and I’ll stop there only because this is already an obnoxious amount lol
He is my hero, and inspired me to teach myself harsh vocals. Rest in peace sweet metal prince. But, have you heard of Ne Obliviscaris? The greatest band of all time?

What a horrible night to have a curse is from Castlevania! I think my favorite song from them is Statutory Ape. Seem them on a Summer Slaughter tour and with Carcass. Was suppose to see them another time also but they didn't show up. Wtf? lol
i just heard someone mentioning at the gates! oh yeah, yes, sir, please...........! also anathema - broad spectrum of music.... THANK YOU! GREAT CHANNEL! btw, i like your sense of humour.
First exposure to those guys and can see why they're your faves. Incredibly precise and up there with the best Norwegian death metal for sure. As a side note, felt like a little nod to your early vids. The outside light even looked la little like a hanging mic...
Loved this one too, guys. At the Gates is probably my favorite metal band of all time and when I first heard BDM (when they first released Unhallowed), I hated them because I thought they were an ATG ripoff... but now I have a cathedral tattooed on my arm to represent the cover of Nocturnal. What a band. Would love to see you dudes react to more of their music
Talking about melodic death metal, i would be very happy if both of you listen to Dark tranquility, I think Richard would like it or suddenly he already knows it. Anyways great song, I have been listening to this band more now that you have several videos reacting to the band and it is definitely incredible.
Isn't Death a pioneer when it comes to melodic death metal Richard? Without sounding like a smartass and as a person who hasn't dwelled to deep into death metal as a genre, but atleast that's what crosses my mind. Love the work you guys do btw! Greetings from the North of Sweden.
It'd be cool if you guys could check it out some melodic metalcore. if i may suggest two song ' Parkway Drive - Horizons' and 'Unearth - Zombie Autopilot'
I LUV me some melodeath, but you have got to get this guy some more interesting and musically sophisticated pieces to listen to. I suggest Arch Enemy 'Dead Eyes...' or 'Rise Of The Tyrant, Carcass 'Unfit For Human Consumption', Soilwork 'Shadow Child' or 'Millionflame', Dark Tranquillity 'Silence And The Firmament Withdrew', and/or 'Zodijackyl Light', At The Gates 'Forever Blind', or Cipher System '7 Inch Cut'. Please. I felt Cemetery Gates was worthy of his musical knowledge, but many of the selections not so much. And I agree about that drum sound. Too rat a tat tat.
Claims its his favorite band, doesn't even know how many albums they have, or when Ryan Knight joined 😂😂 just busting your chops Richard. Love the channel
@Greatmeasures1 Oh I didn't know that. Interesting, yea that album for sure marked a greater change in the bands sound than Deflorate. He for sure added all the solos on Deflorate though. It's a night and day difference from the first 3 records haha
Happy Halloween, everyone! 🤘

I don't think we're getting another lyricist as brutally haunting as Trevor in this lifetime.
A true loss. RIP Trevor, and long live TBDM
He is my hero, and inspired me to teach myself harsh vocals. Rest in peace sweet metal prince. But, have you heard of Ne Obliviscaris? The greatest band of all time?
Trevor was such a magnificent writer. He could mix horror, humor and humility in such a way that no one else could. Forever missed, RIP Trevor!
Black Dahlia is top tier death metal. These selections are great selections
Never would I imagine there would be a piano interpretation to a TBDM song. 🤣
I’m really looking forward to it. 🤞
It'd be amazing if we get a piano interpretation for this song!
Black Dahlia is one of my favourite bands. I love what you guys did and said here. Great perspective about metal songs. I'll subscribe and watch more.
RIP Trevor! Very good band. Thanks for this reaction, awesome as always, guys. ✌️
Dude... I seriously WANT this on piano! That was an impressive sneak peak. I'd also LOVE to hear a piano rendition of Blood In The Ink.
TBDM is also probably my favorite band of all time, so shout out to you, Richard.

Let us go out this evening for pleasure
While the night is still young
Let us dance, (skel)-skeletally
The chill of the autumn is stirring in me
•💀•
Let us *RAPE!*
Let us *MURDER!*
A night to sate
Thine perverted desires
The night on which to watch them die
To see the life, whisked, from the inside

The night so black as _Satan's hide_
When we ghouls do come alive
When the masks of mockery
Shall disguise our wicked *LIES!*
To the death of all
Celebrate the empty breath of fall
The 31st 'twill not go silent
So long as evil doth dwell in man
🧟👹🧟
Devil's night 'twas a scorcher
On this eve, we bring hell!

Sanity hangs by a thread
We're descendants of the dark
Give us back our one true love
Manifest all _Hallows-Eve_

For we've bore it
In our blood

Embrace ye the _brown-leaf-vertigo_
For this undead night, we have sold our souls
Hoist ye this black flag of blasphemy
Lift high this emblem of hate
Return *The Jack-o'-lantern's* _smile_
On this holiday, for the defiled
Shed the thorn-ed binds of Christ's denial
Yet Son let The Devil in

Deflorate was the first album with Ryan. Yall should do Necropolis
RIP Papa Trev. Truly one of one.
Thanks for doing this song!
Yeeessss!!!! This is one of my favorites!! Great choice Richard!!! So awesome to hear piano on this too 🖤
Checking in late but WE BETTER GET THAT PIANO COVER
RIP Trevor.
Ryan knight joined in 2009 on the 4th album Deflorate
I would looove to hear a piano rendition. TBDM means a lot to me, and a lot of other folks as well. Especially us Michiganders!
Still waiting for the piano version
RIP Legend 🥀
What a horrible night to have a curse is from Castlevania! I think my favorite song from them is Statutory Ape. Seem them on a Summer Slaughter tour and with Carcass. Was suppose to see them another time also but they didn't show up. Wtf? lol
O yes At The Gates , react to "blinded by fear " and "Cold" great solo in that one by a guest guitarist Andy LaRocque 🤘
Rest in peace Trevor. You'll always live on through the music you made.
So sad that we lost Trevor, but the music and the fun of BDM is legendary!
i just heard someone mentioning at the gates! oh yeah, yes, sir, please...........! also anathema - broad spectrum of music.... THANK YOU! GREAT CHANNEL! btw, i like your sense of humour.
Thank you! 🤘

😂 Fun fact about that mic:
We didn’t have a stand for it so we duct taped the cord to the ceiling. 😬
@@Greatmeasures haha! Duct tape solves everything
@@bumblefluff79 every time!
I'd love to hear something from Castlevania played on the piano. Rest In Peace Trevor, we love you.🖤

Ho yes, i like so much Ritual, & Moonlight Equilibrium definitely one of my favorites songs'.
Travis we will miss you, RIP🤘🤘
Remember getting the nocturnal album for Christmas in 2007 i was 13 years old been one of my favorite bands ever since❤
You should show him the window, just as a story
Terrifying
Ryan Knight on Arsis - We are the nightmare album was so good.
'Enraged and Drowning Sullen' by Inferi is extremely melodic, and very classically influenced, you might find something to like in it.
Rip Papa Trevor
We miss you brotha
Great stuff, Would love to see a reaction to Future Breed Machine-Meshuggah 🤘
As my 9 year old would say..."he's vibin'"
What a horrible night to have a curse is another good story
Might have to revisit trying to learn the Halloween theme there, playing it in the wrong time signature :P
It's 5/4!
You should do Their Beloved Absentee, if you haven't already
Talking about melodic death metal, i would be very happy if both of you listen to Dark tranquility, I think Richard would like it or suddenly he already knows it. Anyways great song, I have been listening to this band more now that you have several videos reacting to the band and it is definitely incredible.
Happy remembrance piano version? 😢
If he likes freight train drumming, Shannon on every single song off of Deflorate is bruuuuutal.
Give to him some Bolt Thrower.
if you like deathcore maybe you wanna show your buddy an old tune from As Blood Runs Black

Greetings from the North of Sweden.
In my opinion, Death leaned more toward “technical death metal”. I would say they were pioneers of that
sub-genre.
It'd be cool if you guys could check it out some melodic metalcore. if i may suggest two song ' Parkway Drive - Horizons' and 'Unearth - Zombie Autopilot'
You’re speaking my language Horizons and The Oncoming Storm are two of my favorites.
@@Greatmeasures Wow 😅 thats really cool!
If he likes TBDM he needs to listen to Slice the Cake - Stone and Silver i: The Mountains of Man

😂😂 I’m an idiot. 🤦♂️
I confused myself about Ryan Knight because Ritual was the first album that he contributed to the writing process.
@Greatmeasures1 Oh I didn't know that. Interesting, yea that album for sure marked a greater change in the bands sound than Deflorate. He for sure added all the solos on Deflorate though. It's a night and day difference from the first 3 records haha
@@superlink235 absolutely. Things definitely got more complex.
Ryan's first was Deflorate
do some august burns red, I think he'd appreciate it
unless you've done it on purpose, but it does sound a bit strange. listen to your conversation at the beginning. the channels are wrongly mixed;)
the left/right audio channels are flipped, they need to fix it, been going on for a while now lol
We’re trying to figure out how to correct it. Sorry about that.
Any chance you guys could do some more Metallica and Pantera? Keep up the great work
For sure! Any song in particular you want him to hear?
Put that on piano.
You guys should do a Ghost song next!
U know a great band for all hollows eve ???... THE EVIL..SONG..satan 2 😮...😬😬😬😬🤘🍀...lol
Music is a journey yall... Now jump in the wagon boys cause we gots some exploring to do 😯😯😯...
