- Bowhunting Michigan during the whitetail rut is hard to beat. November can lead to some of the best deer hunting of the year and give bowhunters prime opportunities to shoot nice bucks! I was lucky enough to experience a crazy deer hunt from my tree saddle and had encounters with several bucks, including what is now my biggest buck I've killer bow hunting. I've now shot three bucks from a saddle and plan to continue using them for my run and gun deer hunts. Have to love big Michigan bucks!

I am in Gaylord. That’s nice buck for Michigan. Nice video. 👍
Thanks Roger! I used to have family in Gaylord.
Favorite part of the video was when you said "Is it the rut or something?" I got a laugh out of that lol.
It was one of the most insane mornings I've experienced...
Nice buck Aaron! Lots of cool footage before the shot too. Kind of fun to see that buck work it’s way through the wires
Thanks man! Definitely thought that was funny was wondering why he didn’t just jump the fence.
Congrats! That is a great buck. Was a cool hunt and great job on the video.
Thank you!!!!
Ah man, that sinking feeling of seeing your deer walking 3h after the shot. You must have been relieved to see that arrow. Well done on the tracking and having the patience to wait.
Definitely felt better when I found the arrow! Thank you though! It was not easy...Made for one restless night!
Nice buck. Congrats
Thank you!! 🙏🏻
Just got around to watching this video, but wow you had some awesome footage! Congrats Aaron, being a fellow Michigander I love watching your stuff. Content gets better every year!
Hey Jake, that means a lot! I pour a lot into filming/editing so its nice to hear that someone enjoys it!
Great video! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks bro appreciate the feedback!
CONGRATS Nice buck, sounds like you did everything right after the shot. Probably the best decision was to take your girlfriend Lindsey on the track job. Have a BLESSED day and keep SHARING your PASSION
She is a trooper for sure! Not only is she pretty and lets me hunt a lot but she also has a great eye for tracking!
Glad u found him! Next time just take ur time even if he didn’t hear you you can always stop him again moving shots can be dangerous
such a sick video, thank you!
I hope you are still making hutning content
I'm stoked you liked it! I put put a bunch of hunts since this one and got more in the hopper!
Way to wait for the recovery and be smart about it since you knew he didn’t die right away!
Learned from previous experience!
Nice, I saw more bucks in this video than I have seen in 15 years of hunting in New Jersey
LOL...I'd be headed elsewhere I think even if it was just for a long weekend
Great video man!
Thank you! That means a lot.
Nice buck and good job not pushing him. Good luck this fall.
Thanks Kris! Goodluck to you too!
Congratulations on the hunt!! Good footage and nice work. Consider putting your quiver back on your bow. You would’ve had way more time to get the follow-up shot even with adjusting the camera to get in frame.
Gut shot 90% of the time will go to water or into water which I suspect you knew based on your comment but others watching may need use of the info sometime in the future.
Nice 👍👍👍
Thanks Kevin!
Awesome buck what’s your Sitka setup?
Thanks man! I work with Pnuma now but this was my ride or die sitka system: ua-cam.com/video/4ndQzJ-9dNo/v-deo.html
BBD!
😎😎😎
Great video, I would recommend looking at the bowmar nose button. Reason I say this is because with your face mask on, doesn't look like the peep is near the corner of your mouth when you shoot
Thanks Hunter! I've seen them and will check them out. Thank you for the recommendation!
@@NextStepOutdoors I meant kisser button. Lol not the peep. Great buck
I didn’t even realize you said peep. My brain automatically inserted kisser button. Lol
how did you set up your camera?
My primary camera I run on a fourth arrow carbon arm and my other camera I have a little arm that I strap above my head.
I’d let him grow three more years and maybe he’ll be a monster buck then
If you're shooting 6.5 year old bucks in Michigan, my hats off to you!
Why wouldn't you start tracking at the beginning of the blood trail. Start at the point of impact.
I forgot to document that once I got out of the tree but aside from impact there was no blood I could find. So instead of grid searching in the prime bedding that I knew he wasn’t in, I decided to just pick up where I had seen him last across the river. I had marked on OnX where I lost sight of him. If I didn’t find him when I did, we would have back tracked and started from the beginning again.
