After first seeing this duo, from Savannah Georgia, about four years ago I was finally able to get some good video. The first time was a really intimate setting too. But I was going thru a phase in the beginning where I would not film a band until I had seen them live at least once. I have since gotten over this Idea.
This was an especially good night. Just before, Sssleeperhold, whom I also had never seen live, just put on a rad set. If you are not familiar, it's the solo project of Jose Cota of Boan. After that intense sweaty show, all I had to show for it were some inadequate cell phone pics.
Then it seemed like over night this band got really popular. The next couple of shows were jammed packed. The night I shot this video was not different. As I think you can see.
But I think this sudden rise of success is deserved. Gus Mullers hypnotic beats and Jae Mathews dark sultry vocals are an addictive combination. Given the chance I am hard pressed to not want to give my body over to their expertly crafted dark snyth rhythm with it's undertones of pain, lost love, and abandonment.

@@LiminalVoices I don’t get out much, I have no excuses, it’s just a lack of me making the effort to go see a good show. Case in point, I could have gone to see TR/ST this weekend but decided otherwise. Yeah, I’m missing out on watching and supporting artist that I love, gonna try harder :)
I bet Art the clown is somewhere in the back of the crowd watching ominously with a big menacing smile.
But then he would have eviscerated Jae & Gus afterward. He probably also barred all exit doors beforehand, set the venue on fire, and used a Tommy gun on the audience during the pandemonium that ensued.
Thus killing everyone that night, including me, which sounds and would have looked cool, but, kinda would have sucked too ( ?? )
