Hello Frank, every single time I hear your track my skin tingles - I am 44 years old and this track still does what it did to me when I first heard it in 1993, it is my favourite piece of music of all time.
The First Rebirth is probably the most important Hard Trance track ever created. It still sounds pretty fresh even today. You can't say the same for many tracks that are almost 3 decades old.
Fantastic interview as always Twan, and what a massive track. Absolutely timeless and that original '93 version doesn't sound out of place even in many of todays Techno sets
Yessss Dazzza once again. I still play this on a regular basis when I'm feeling not myself. When the bass kicks in, it's like a kick up the ass that I needed. See you soon on your channel mate.
Very special track to me that never ages. Years ago I sold my vinyl collection. I kept 3 records and one of them is the yellow vinyl pressing of the first rebirth he is talking about 🙏👌
Amazing hearing Franky talk about listening to Age of Love around the time they created The First Rebirth. Those two songs are two of my favorites ever.
Franky, this tras was a masterpiece from the very first time: Clubs weren't ready at that time yet, most Dj's werent too, music policies didn't match ... but time has proven that everyone bends the knee on your creation. Speed was right, track structure too, synth patch "Rave Choir" from Korg M1 explains how many electronic instruments had to be used in a different way for this "different music styles". The First Rebirth will be remembered as one of the most brilliant and simple (in an good way) electronic music dance tune ever, and through the years you can see more and more attempts to bring all the splendor over the prejudices it had from the very beginning.
This became such a classic in the hardcore scene. It happened on Mystery Land 1998. There was a big soccer match for the World Cup that day. Boris Valeo played the track and the people started to shout ‘Holland! Holland’ to support the football team. After that, at every major party The First Rebirth was played and the ‘Holland’ thing became a big thing. I remember at every rave, from Masters of Hardcore to Thunderdome, from Nightmare to Ghosttown, it was played and it always was a special moment.
To be honest: the “Holland” shouting started with The World Cup, but in the following years it was mostly a group of nazi’s/nationalists shouting that.
Nice one, Muzikxpress. I really enjoyed it. These interviews, with these amazing music creators & true electronica living legends, are excellent, absolutely great. 'The First Rebirth' is an extraordinary, essential, immortal and timeless electronic music gem. I absolutely love it. It is, and it will always be, in my top 5 best electronic music tracks ever. People with good musical taste, who love listening to good music, will also listen to, dance to and love this extraordinary track in the future. Franky Jones and Axel Stephenson are really talented and have big merit. Having been able to create such a masterpiece deserves all the recognition and praise that it has received and that it will keep getting (for eternity), because it has made (and it will continue to make) many people happy, due to its high-quality and because, thanks to it, many people fell in love with electronic music back then and it will happen too in the future. These amazingly well made electronic music tunes, from that golden era, such as 'The First Rebirth', 'Age of Love - The Age of Love', 'Cherrymoon Trax - The House of House', 'Blue Alphabet - Cybertrance', 'Push - Universal Nation', 'Criss Source - Sunrise', 'B.B.E. - Seven Days and One Week', 'Energy 52 - Café del Mar', 'Three drives on a vinyl - Greece 2000', 'Interfront - Strange' (this one is high-quality electronic music from Spain), and many, many more, all of them superb tunes, and of course the highly talented creators & artists that produced them with huge talent & passion, have done A LOT both for electronic music and for people who love music & (high-quality) electronica. From me, huge and eternal respect and a massive thank you to all of these creators & artists who have managed to produce such fantastic, essential immortal and timeless electronic music gems, for people to enjoy for eternity. Highly talented music producers & DJs from Belgium like Franky Jones, Axel Stephenson, Yves Deruyter, M.I.K.E. Push, etc, have done SO MUCH for Belgian & European (high-quality) electronic music. Likewise, them and many others from other countries have done A LOT for (high-quality) electronic music, for (good) music, for music lovers, for electronic music enthusiasts, for quite a few music labels, for so many clubs, for clubbing... Their contribution, at various levels, is huge, it can't be measured in all of its greatness. Moreover, all of them have indeed made many people happy, all over the world, with their music creations and with their music sets. Well done guys. Their legacy will last and their music will keep both making many people happy & having a big relevance and influence. Long live these amazing music creators / producers and DJs and all the great ones out there. Long live Bonzai Records and its amazing legacy. And long live good music, high-quality electronic music and heavenly Trance music. Listen to good music!. And never stop doing it. 🙂🎛🎚🎵🎶🚀🌌

Great interview. So much history in this one. An iconic, golden, mega classic. It's in the upper echelon of great classics. Good to hear props to Jam & Spoon, Yves Deryuter and others. I found out about the other Rebirth tracks that are out so far only a couple of years ago.
Bazen 😎

I think the sixth rebirth in the early raze mixe popped up in my plalyist one day and I kept it. I heard other verisons since, but always getting back to that one. Great to hear the stories behind it, I really curious to see if it had any connection to the rebirth music program from the earlier Apple Macintosh. but doesn't seen to be the case.
w00t superb interview and backgroundmusic (sometimes possible to list the background music tracks? pretty pleaaase ;) esp in the second half there are some wonderfull trance tracks in there, that IO recognise melodywise but cant remember name/title)
One of my favorite ever techno records first heard the original mix played by Carl Cox at Electric Kingdom in 93 blew my mind, the slower baby doc/dentist remix is a classic too
Thank you! And the producers behind the Sunbeam project don't really perform in The Netherlands. This is a hobby for me and I don't have a travel budget, so I can only do interviews with people that live near me (south of The Netherlands) or people that visit for gigs. But there's no events / gigs for a while already because of COVID-19, so I only focus on the people know that live near me. I had some interviews planned in Belgium, but because of the new regulations those are being postponed as well..... I have plans / ideas enough though, so hopefully I can make it all happen one day ;-)
@@SektorNL Dank je! @@muzikxpress so cool, I was about to ask if you plan to make an interview about that song too. Subscribed to your channel, you're doing great job btw, keep it up!
Since these interviews take a lot of time and energy, I focus on the bigger hits / classics that are known to a bigger audience as well. If I do interviews about lesser known tracks the interviews simply don't get enough views to keep doing these interviews. This is "just" a hobby and more views means more subscribers and more revenue (which isn't much anyway). Thanks for your understanding!
Would be great to know which parts have been sampled (with the S1000) and which parts have been "composed" with the synths. Moreover, I would be interesting to know which parts were played with the M1 and the MS20? I suppose the M1 "choir" sound has been used for the main lead but for the rest, I dont know...
What is your favorite remix / version of "The First Rebirth"?
Not an official remix( I think) Markuzz Fame remix is really good and also Lange remix is amazing ❣️✨

Quality Channel. Followed 👍
Thank you so much!!!
@@muzikxpress thnx to ya. Keep up the good work ♥️
w00t superb interview and backgroundmusic (sometimes possible to list the background music tracks? pretty pleaaase ;) esp in the second half there are some wonderfull trance tracks in there, that IO recognise melodywise but cant remember name/title)
CLASSIC TECHNO....
One of my favorite ever techno records first heard the original mix played by Carl Cox at Electric Kingdom in 93 blew my mind, the slower baby doc/dentist remix is a classic too
Lovely interview! Did you ever consider interviewing Sunbeam about Outside world? Would love to hear that!
I have plans / ideas enough though, so hopefully I can make it all happen one day ;-)
@@muzikxpressAaaaah, logisch!
:) #uitdehandgelopenhobby
After following you for well over a decade it seems now! I got a real feel for your tracks, even being a generation behind this scene. I LOVE IT. and so greatful i connected with all you guys in the past on Facebook to study your sounds. I can't remember which set i played first rebirth in or when i featured it. But Jones & Stephenson - The Third Rebirth (Cortex Thrill Mix) went amazingly well with World Inside The Music Featuring Dj Panda It's A Dream (Remix) ua-cam.com/video/s_VpCcaAacM/v-deo.html !!!!
Very nice concept these interviews, great to hear this story's . Many thanks! Would be terrific to hear the story behind Destiny by Insider, my favourite old school track!
Edward R thanks so much! And that one is on the wish list, maybe one day 😉
talking of yves deruyter, the story behind "calling earth" would be interesting!
Already in the works, so hopefully that will happen later this year ;-)
@@muzikxpress awesome! looking forward to it.
@@muzikxpress The Rebel and Feel Free are my favourites :)
@@muzikxpress so cool, I was about to ask if you plan to make an interview about that song too. Subscribed to your channel, you're doing great job btw, keep it up!
TomCruise thank you so much!
Toute mon enfance ♥️♥️♥️
He looks like a fun an nice guy.
Nice!
hi twam...the guys behind shimmon and wolfson......bangin tracks they made
Since these interviews take a lot of time and energy, I focus on the bigger hits / classics that are known to a bigger audience as well.
