One issue that seems to keep coming up is the screentime limits are easily bypassed by adding more time or tapping ignore the limit. This quick video will show you how to prevent anyone from bypassing your Screen Time limits and how to set a passcode for them.

No problem, but screen time is not mainly for parents. It’s also for people to keep tabs on their screen time. For example setting limits for apps or usage in general for people who want to cut back is great and having an ignore for situations where you need to is great too. The password protection is there for kids just like old school tv cable providers had passcodes for parental lock on channels.
It did not work. I have block at end of limit, but she still is able to exceed it. By hours.

I’ve done this but my kid can still select ignore limit!!
I actually got my brother to set a password for me and not tell me what it is because I kept on staying up on my phone, and now my phone just has the option to ignore it so I don’t understand why Apple would do this, it just defeats the object of downtime
If it was set up as I show in this video, the ignore option should not appear. Or it should prompt you to enter in the passcode to ignore.
So I want just a general time limit for the day aside from app limit. My son clicks the ignore . Does this work also?
This doesn’t work. What I’m find is when the tablet is on downtime my son can click on an app and hit ignore limits before the app limits kick in. I have all his apps set to 1min limits. So for 1min he can hit ignore and over ride the app limits I have set.
Does this still work with Downtime? Or does one override the other?
This doesn’t seem to work for me. All set up with ‘block at end of limit’
I’ve tried app limits with and without downtime, tried downtime with no app limits. It still shows apps being accessed even with the timer icon showing they should be in downtime. (Eg an experiment with a 10min limit on UA-cam and downtime of 7pm-7am still showed 2hrs 40mins usage of UA-cam during downtime)
I get that the screen time setting isn’t just for parents, but on a child’s account the screen time setting literally says “set up usage and parental controls” just seems pointless to have that ‘ignore limit’ option on the child’s account when there are all sorts of other restrictions already applied because it’s a child’s account 🤷♀️ (I also get that this setting isn’t your doing, it’s not personal 😂)

Usually it happens because it was set up with a different Apple ID then you are using now. Login with the one that was used to set it up and you should be able to disable it.
What if you can’t change it?? Mine is like that

It still shows the 1 minute if you child is set up as over 13 on their ID (well thats waht apple support say) Ridiculous

Set up a family in screen time then add the phone of your choice into the family as a child account

This video shows how to block. If your parents set these limits, it isn't something I can control or fix. You have to discuss it with them.
That doesn’t work somehow, I have the limit and password, but i still can choose the ignore for today option and skip the limit

Weird, seems like there is a glitch or maybe a different apple ID set it up? No idea why it would do that with the password. Try resetting the password and see if it fixes. Maybe it glitched out during a software update?

It doesn’t work .. and my daughter know exactly what to do, to get on with out me knowing.. why do they have the ignore time option on iPhones …🤦🏿♀️
If it is all set up like this there is no way that they can ignore the limit. If you can remove all the blocks you have set up. Restart the iPhone and then make sure your follow these steps to add the blocks back in. If it doesn't work, you can screen record on your iPhone as you are doing these steps and then show that it lets you ignore. Then either the password isn’t set or it’s glitching. Try restarting the iPhone.
