Transcript: This is a way of me getting to know different cultures. I’ve had all types of students, and I enjoy talking with them, and they enjoy talking with me, so we get to know each other, how they live. Living with a homestay family is the best way to learn the language, because you’re surrounded by native speakers and you have to speak the language every time, so I think it’s a really great way to improve your English. It’s very interesting to watch that change, and sometimes it’s a little quick too because they just have to involve themselves to try to speak English. So I do notice a big change. I like Canada, this is my second time. I like Canadian people, and winter. When they’re home, we talk about their day and we also like to watch TV together. The fact that you meet so many new students from all over the world in your homestay family. There’s a big variety of different cultures which come together in one family, so that’s really amazing, I love that. They become like my kids, so with a lot of the students I build a relationship. This is something that stays with me. I like my homestay family, because my homestay mother helps me a lot. You learn a lot about the culture and the way of living here. I would really recommend everyone to spend their time in a homestay family.
