Thanks for this!
Thanks for watching!
Good video Derek 👌👍
Thanks Simeon! Appreciate that
Impressive range of tones from a very compact unit.
Thanks David!
A modern take on the Pandora, but with a pedal and app.
Hi great video the idea is very cool I think in the future with refinement will be great
Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching!
I’m with the many others who seem to agree that the tones just don’t seem to be there. They all just fall flat. Compression/dynamics/Etc. Maybe with proper EQ that could change. But, since it was not showcased its hard to know if adjusting things on the app can really get a desirable outcome. Thanks for the time you spent putting this together! Maybe do a follow up video where you try and dial in the tones to see if it’s favorably responsive? I’d be down for that. Again, thanks for making the video!
Thanks for watching and that seems to be a good idea, dialling in the EQ to optimise the tones on the unit, cheers!
@@DerekPaulGuitar Thanks again Derek!
Did you completely roll down your time knob?
Sounds like if you play through a wah but all the way back.
I think something wasn't quite right with the recording, as there was way too much bass/lower frequencies and the tones sounded distant and compressed. A Rat pedal has a distinctive sound that is pretty hard to hide, yet it didn't sound much like a Rat in the video. In general, the highs seemed to be missing in all the examples. I'm listening on Studio Monitoring Headphones. 🤷
I hear you, the tones can be eq’d of course but I wanted to show the stock patches as they sound out of the box, cheers!
I've owned my P1 Prime and F4 since January-2023 and it sounds nothing like the sounds in this video - which sounds like the guitar tone knob is dialed down to zero?
The 0A Dumb Clean factory preset as-is is woofy and very undefined.
I've got 3 banks (4 patches per bank) that I made and use.
For Factory Presets, some of my favorites are:
7A Studio Clean, turn off the OD and reduce the chorus rate = '80s clean chorus tone
1C British Rhythm (JCM 800 and TS) - gets 70s Kiss rhythm tones
1D British Lead (JCM 900) - gets '70s Kiss lead tones
3C Eagle Rhythm (Engl Blackmore) - '80s hair metal rhythm with boosted mids
3D Mes V DS (Mesa Mark V) - nice light dist lead, sounds better with the Full DR OD than the TS
In the library presets, under Heavy, Massive is a Black Sabbath sounding patch, and Prog Metal is a good liquid lead, high gain and smooth with some delay and reverb.
There are many usable amp models, the JCM 800, Triple Rec, Mark V, and JC120 are some of my favorites.
IMO.
edit: I could easily gig this rig; it's actually my backup rig; it sounds rich and massive through a PA, but you're gonna need to edit your sounds and use your ears not your eyes to get the best from it.
Thanks for the comment, to be fair I didn’t adjust any global or EQ’s on the patches, and yes it’s an incredible unit with some amazing sounds in it! Cheers
That's because he's just playing the bottom strings which is just plain stupid.
Can the P1 broadcast other apps like amplitube, jamup pro etc to your amp? Is it bluetooth?
I’m not really sure but it is Bluetooth
The tones just aren't there. They sound too compressed. Not good in my opinion. Sure it has alot of options but if it doesn't sound good then its useless.
I’m guessing that’s why it’s $150, which seems actually kind of expensive considering an iRig with amplitube basic is $99
It does have many many useable tones and so many features, it’s just that some of the stock ones need a lot of tweaking, cheers!
