This is a good video. I think the thing most do not realise about installing ebike kits is that there is no magic bullet. It will never go smoothly like above Often there is a lot of tweaking and fiddling as all bikes are really different, especially older ones.It can take some time to do and for total newbies you need more tools that you probably do not have. My advice would be to make sure you learn how to do some basics on your bike first before ordering. Index gears, replace brake cables and calibrate brakes, add and remove tyres, replace a chain, remove a cassette etc. Once you can do these, the install will be so much easier I have installed the Yose kit on 2 bikes and it is reliable, but definitely takes a bit more time than most UA-cam videos show.
I wonder if anyone who bought this realises that on the 350w version, the default max speed is set to 34kph, when if you go into the settings you can actually max the top speed to 40kph
Nice video very good, I thunk you are the only one that shows how the pedal assist work, even tho I know how, it's nice to see someone showing this. Excellent video.
I've been looking at this exact kit. Your video is very concise and details everything I need to know. You mentioned a follow up video and I wondered when you'd be posting it?
I've just put a Yose power 350A 36V kit on my Carrera as in the video and the battery wont slot in as the holes on the down tube for the pump bracket stops it.... I'm down to one screw at the bottom 😢any suggestions would be welcomed....great set of 3 vids by the way....very informative
Thanks for the video I have just fitted the same kit to a Carrera Crossfire, and having something to refer to was great. I differed slightly on a couple of things. I decided to install another rivnut in the frame so I could secure the holder using the two outer fitting holes. I have fitted the throttle but not connected it, as I do not feel comfortable without the handbrake motor cut offs. To my mind they are a safety precaution should the throttle go short or stick. Unfortunately the Yose power supplied brake levers cannot be fitted to the bike as the brake and gear levers are integrated as are yours. Pity Yose Power do not offer alternatives in the kit.
@@JohnBhoy6788 Yes reasonably straight forward and this video was a good reference. As I have stated elsewhere on here I added another screw hole in the frame to better support the battery holder. I also modified a pair of magnetic operated brake reed switches from another suppliers website and attached them to my levers, so I could take advantage of the motor cut off circuits, so the throttle could be used safely.
We purchased this Vivi 27.5” electric bike and a Tentaquil 26” electric bike for our 13 and 14 year olds. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxUiL0GnyDjP32RJdd660sP8mZk4CRLTCJ The Vivi was much easier to put together. With the Vivi, there was a video link to assist with assembly which made the process easier to follow (we did put the handlebars on upside down, but it was a quick and easy fix). With the Tentaquil, the assembly was not as simple to follow, but after we messaged the company for an assembly video, it was easier and they did respond quickly. The other major differences were that the Vivi has a grip throttle on the right handle (like a motorcycle) and the Tentaquil has a push throttle that you use your thumb to activate. The monitors were also different, so if you’re looking for something specific in terms of changing the bikes functions, pay attention to what the monitor offers. We were really impressed with the overall quality and functionality of both bikes, but if you’re looking for more power and an easier assembly, definitely go with the Vivi!
Just for information I recently bought one of these last week and installation is reasonably straightforward. I made sure I bought an appropriate bike first by checking it was a square taper bottom bracket so that the PAS sensor was straightforward to install. Also a lot of people say it doesn't fit in the dropouts. I think what they mean is the axle on the wheel supplied seems ever so slightly too big in diameter and it's a very very snug fit, but it does fit. I made sure the bottle mounts were high enough on the bike I purchased. It does help that I use extra large bikes as there is lots of clearance for battery. I received all of the tools necessary in the box such as chain whip crank puller Allen keys and cassette lockring tool. The wires are all colour coded and very straightforward didn't need any instructions for this. The only problem I ran into is the calipers on my bike on the rear hit the Hub motor. I only have 160 mm so I'm going to get a 203 mm and see if this clears the motor and solves the problem. Throttle works fine (19mph)peddle assist works fine you can change the speed to 40 km/h if you wish on the display
Hi An informative video, thanks. I am thinking of fitting the 250w front wheel version on my step through trike. Questions you might be able to help me with: 1. Would the cable be long enough to mount the battery behind the saddle down tube? 2. Does the display screen allow you to set the maximum speed allowable and can it be set to mph. I ask as i need to ride it on footpaths and meet invalid carriage status which is 4mph maximum? Thanks in advance👍🏻.
This is a good ebike kit, although given a few alterations it could be so much better, the battery holder should be made from metal, supply a sensor that can be used for hollow tech and can be used on any side of the crank, supply some blanks for the brake lever cables and maybe bigger motor options.
Great vid and because there is very little instructions with my kit and first build on a folding fat bike🥵 wrong move as to big to heavy and wouldn’t even go up hill, it was 48v 1000w now got a 20” wheel on a tern link folding bike and it rips😁 and goes up the steepest hill with no peddling, apparently because smaller wheels have much more torque, anyway your vid got me out of trouble so 👍 from me

Is it possible to install this rear wheel kit on a road bike whose tire width is limited to 25 or 28 mm because of the narrowness of the frame ? I would like to know the dimensions of the rim (ETRTO rim size)
I've just installed this kit, and as shown in the video above, it was very straightforward... Except the motor hub does not fit into the dropouts! The diagram on Amazon with the width of the motor hub shows it as being 135 mm. My dropouts were 135 too. But I discovered that the hub has two protruding nuts, plus the lugged washer, which take the width closer to 145. I managed to slide the hub in in the end, but the washers are outside the forks! What can I do?
An update: There was a comment on my post from another customer who had the same problem as I did, but it seems to have disappeared into the ether. I also found a review by a German customer on Yose Power’s website, who had to pay the local bike shop 40 euros to widen his forks so the motor hub would fit. I tried to do the same thing using a car jack but the forks just snapped back into place. I watched as many youtube videos as I could find which showed the rear motor hub heing inserted into the forks. Most of them put the lugged washers on the outside, not the inside. Some advised strongly to do it this way. See the video ua-cam.com/video/dh65XAgvrkU/v-deo.html, from about 6:30 onwards. Yose Power were very responsive when I contacted them through their website, but made the point that there would be many more complaints if other customers had the same problem as I did. In the end, they suggested putting slimmer washers in. Lots of people who were doing conversions advise using a torque bar, which is what I am going to do. There is a 'V' over to the right but it's not obvious. When my 36V battery is fully charged it reads between 41.6 and 41.8 - when down to around half charge it's 36.0 V
Hi, I have some questions before ordering a kit I’ve just made a video if you could take a look and let me know if it’s possible I would appreciate it! Thanks again love the video by the way
I did yes, the kits come in casette and freewheel variety if need be. You just need a chainwhip and cassette removal socket if your donor bike has a cassette. Very easy in theory but sometimes takes a lot of force to undo on an old bike.
@@danhle1032 yeah I bought one, it is very straightforward to install, unfortunately my kit was missing the wheel nuts, so I have not been able to use it, they are sending me some, a nice kit. Although if you have a hollow tech crank you will need a different Pas sensor, I had to put the sensor ring on the chain ring side, didn't realise by doing this the pas would only only kick in when I pedaled backwards.
Great video. I received the AW rear wheel conversion kit from Amazon. My bike shop looked at it and there are two problems. First problem is that my Shimano crank is tapered and the PAS takes up room so that my crank will not slide back on all the way, I can tighten the bolt but the crank is not seated all the way and the bike shop said it will eventually wear out the crank arm since it is not tightly seated. Is there a PAS system that will work in this case? Also the derailer rubs in top gear and the bike shop said no way to fix except to adjust to lose the top gear.
Brilliant video, I also have a Vulcan bike and will be using your video as a guide soon after ordering the same kit. I have 2 questions? Did you have to drill the 2 holes in the frame for the battery or use the 2 screws already in place for the bottle holder? Does the motor hub wheel come with accompanying axle nuts, my existing wheel has a quick release.
Hi, I used the existing bottle cage mount holes and it literally has 1mm of clearance to get the battery in. My frame is a medium. I think all kits assume you have a QR or through axle so they do come with their own serrated axle lock nuts. You also get spacer nuts and washers to get it aligned.
Do you use this on the road on the uk? If so aren't you worried about the 250 watt limit on ebikes? I know it's unlikely you'll be stopped but is it worth the risk?
4:42 don't use them! What happens is that if you leave the bike sat for a decent period of time all the 'slime' drains down and collects and dries in the inside of the value. You will find it really hard to pump air in to the tyre, it happened to me! I just bought kevlar 'postie' tyres and never had a puncture again.
I don't get why so many eBike kits are so much louder than mine. Mines 2,000W and it's dead silent. Even loaded you can't hear it over the freewheel. I wonder if it's because I use a 8kw motor at 2k :/
This is a good video. I think the thing most do not realise about installing ebike kits is that there is no magic bullet. It will never go smoothly like above

The kit comes with the tools to fit the kit, which I looked even a chain whip and cassette removal tool
@@acelectricalsecurity did u buy one? im really interested.
@@danhle1032 yeah I bought one, it is very straightforward to install, unfortunately my kit was missing the wheel nuts, so I have not been able to use it, they are sending me some, a nice kit.
Although if you have a hollow tech crank you will need a different Pas sensor, I had to put the sensor ring on the chain ring side, didn't realise by doing this the pas would only only kick in when I pedaled backwards.
please make more videos of riding your bike
I find it suspicious his entire channel consists of three yose power videos and it makes me think he is sponsored or works for them
Anyone give advice on converting a crossfire 3 it has 700c wheels
what breake sensor you use?
Do you have a link to the kit?
What made you choose this over a mid drive unit
I prefer Mid-drives for sure, but a decent one costs a lot more.
How did you mount the pedal assist sensor
I just used a cable tie but I'd recommend using Sugru (mouldable rubber) if your bike frame is an irregular shape.
Did you install brake lever that came with the kit ?
is it possible to install a 10x cassette without problems?
Hi great video. Just a question, how do you know if you have a cassette or freewheel type?
Thanks
A cassette slides onto the free hub and then tightens with a lock ring a free wheel screws directly into the hub
very good, I want to learn how to install and uninstall the wheels
Do you use this on the road on the uk? If so aren't you worried about the 250 watt limit on ebikes? I know it's unlikely you'll be stopped but is it worth the risk?
Im considering the same hailong battery but concerned my triangle is too small for it. It measures 43x30x53cm, could you tell me what yours is mate?
Whst price this kit
do they ship to the Uk?
did you get your kit of amazon?
so we dont need to remove our original brake?
Yes only if you want to
4:42 don't use them! What happens is that if you leave the bike sat for a decent period of time all the 'slime' drains down and collects and dries in the inside of the value. You will find it really hard to pump air in to the tyre, it happened to me! I just bought kevlar 'postie' tyres and never had a puncture again.
True …
Anyone know of there is any custom firmware for this system or software updates
How would I install one on a single speed bike? What do I need ? Can you please help.
What price this kit ?
340
And what about the brake sensors?
Not required
Are the rear wheels strong on these kits cheers
Hello, what’s your bike’s rear dropout length?
good
I don't get why so many eBike kits are so much louder than mine.
Mines 2,000W and it's dead silent. Even loaded you can't hear it over the freewheel.
I wonder if it's because I use a 8kw motor at 2k :/
It's because these hubs are geared, yours probably is a direct drive.
@@carnivorouslee
Yeah, because tons of people have geared hub motors above 5kw...
@@Psyrecx your pretty much riding a moped then, it's no the goal of these low powered hubs.
Which Carrera bike model did u use?
where is your controller
The controller is integrated into he battery rail.
Skipped important parts I believe
Can you send link please
👌👏👍
Nice video but the only mistake, you did not put a link for your items.
Bro it’s cassette or flywheel??
Is there no controller box ?
