I think blocks, art supplies, books and music are the type of toys all toddlers need. Thesee are the kind of things that really stimulate learning and give them a good basis for creative play later on.
I just did this with part of my closet yesterday when I was putting laundry away. I gave myself 15 minutes to get rid of boots and shoes I’ll never wear again and ended up donating a bunch of clothes as well. It’s a continuous work in progress but I try to send a bag or box to the thrift store each month. When something new comes in something has got to go.
I hope you know what a beautiful singing instrument you have been given!! I have taught folks how to sing for over 40 years….I know what I am hearing in your voice!
Thank you Lynn. Sometimes you make me feel that I really am worth it. So often I don’t feel that way so thank you so much. I love you too and you are definitely worth it!!! ❤️❤️❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thank you Lynn for giving me the strength to declutter all the cute clothes that I thought I would wear but never have. You are awesome, always look forward to your uploads. 🤩
I just got done decluttering the house from the attic to the basement it took me about 6 months to do the whole house and I sold and donated and gave away so much to my friend. I'm not even decorating for fall I gave my bestie everything I did keep my disney halloween stuff cause I love it. I went thru all christmas stuff and got rid of so much. I feel like my house can now breath. All that is left is the garage but I'm not touching that with a 10 ft pole it's mostly his stuff. But the house feels amazing When we got married we didn't have all this stuff so we don't need it now. So I'm happy with how things are we still have some furniture to get rid of but will do that next year during the community garage sale. Great job Lynn
Hey! Thanks for your honesty and realness in your videos. It’s refreshing to see the progress others are making. I love the quote from your pastor; it’s so true!
I know exactly what you mean by not going into a space that makes you feel yuck. I'm slowly working on my whole house. Decluttering and go back later and wonder why I didn't get rid of more the first time. It feels amazing. Love all of your videos. Thank you
Lynn I hear you loud and clear! I feel like you are my twin. I have ADHD and so much anxiety all the time. I swear I’m watching you right now and it’s like looking in a mirror. I struggle with overwhelm every day of my life. I get rid of stuff constantly and I feel like it isnt enough or I didn’t do enough even though I spent all day working hard. I keep wondering when is enough , enough?? Thank you for helping me realize I’m not the only one out there. It’s hard. I feel you girl.
🟩 Here is a tip each time you go shopping for clothes shoes bedding etc and remind yourself of the declutter you just removed from your home if you think of buying something ask yourself first if you really need them ?
Yes!!! I have been doing that more and more but somedays I forget. Some days the allure of new things catches my eye - I’m human :-) this is a constant journey for me and how long to be better and better. One day at a time.
Exactly! "Needing" is replacing something that broke, or that your kids grew and you have to adjust their clothes/toys/furniture to their changing needs. Or you found that how you did xyz doesn't work. You have been sitting on idea about for a month and still think this might be it. Then stand in front of that shelf and think about how much clutter tetris you're playing, how much time and real estate this will take and the money that will be missing to fix other projects. In a book I read it said things cost double: their own price, and the price of the furniture you need to buy to store the item. I am no minimalist at all, but this is my thought process and it really helps.
I’m fascinated by the people who criticize or need to say they’re leaving. We’re all free to watch or go elsewhere. I pick up hints from you all of the time. I’m a neat living with two messies so it’s a constant.
Lynn, give your self some grace. It takes at least a year to get settled in a house and at least two years to really get things put where you really want them, plus you are renovating on top of that! So give your self some time. You are one of the best cleaners and organizers that I watch and I get some really good ideas from you, and I am the type of person like you who really likes to have things clean and orderly. You are trying to go too fast, just slow down a little, I'm sure your boys don't give a hoot how your house looks and that's who you are keeping house for. Everyone on u tube knows what a good clean er and organizer you are! Lots of love!
I learned that when you’re younger, things mean more to you because you can buy what you want to enjoy. I was on my way to become a hoarder which my mother was. As I started to loose family members and spouses, you start to realize you don’t need half the stuff you have collected. When you start to purge it gets easier everyday. I may have to downsize my living space because I don’t need all this room just to collect more things. I am happy I started to downsize and feel good about it. Get rid of things you don’t really need or love. God is with you in this transition! Good job Lynn!🥰👍💜
Hi Lynn!! Thank you so much for talking about neurodivergence and for recommending an app which you find useful as someone who is neurodivergent. I have ADHD and struggle with other apps that don't give support or advice suitable for neurodivergent people. I've just purchased a 12 month subscription with Greatness for £48.10!!! Thank you so much for sharing the love and wisdom, lots of love and blessings to you and your family xxxx
Hi Lynn, when you were decluttering the toys, I felt like you were reading my thoughts inside my brain. Oh, how it hit me so hard. Before my husband died, my house was organized, and I loved my home, but now I seem to have fallen in a cluttered disaster that I don't even want to be in my home. I'm also 67 with a back disability and raising my 3 grandsons, so yes, I know what it's it like to take care of so many things and our animals and that's why you made my heart ❤ sink when you were talking. I'm overwhelmed, disgusted, tired, and don't know how to get moving, so I'm asking you to please keep up the understanding and encouragement that I need to hear😢 and truly appreciate❤. Thank you so much and you have an amazing holiday weekend and stay safe. Bless you for what you're for me and I'm sure many others. See you in the next one🥰😇
You are a ray of happiness! I watched your Christmas takedown video. I immediately went back to several of your videos and while listening, I was painting my bathroom. You have so motivated me to take my Christmas stuff down and let go of what I don’t need anymore. I to struggle with clutter but love to keep things clean. Watching your videos, makes it real on what I have grown blind to. 2024 is going to be different, and you have helped me set my new goals for my future!❤️
Thank Lynn for the motivation to declutter my house. I’ve been struggling with keeping up of things and you have definitely provided me with some motivation and tips to get rid of stuff Ive just been holding on to! ❤❤
I am single and live in a 3 bed 1 bath house with a empty finished basement that I never use. I have been decluttering so much and I am no where done. Looking now for land to build a container home and down size even more. Thank you for another awesome video, you truly are an inspiration!❤❤❤❤❤
Lynn, I am a fairly new follower and I am enjoying you so much. I love how real you are and I love your talks. I really liked how you talked to us as you decluttered and it wasn't sped up. Thank you for your amazing videos❤
I'm a stay at home "older" mom & I wear the same things every week. It's hard to get rid of those "bad choices ", but it's just gathering dust in my closet. Luckily I don't spend much on my clothes so it's usually no big loss. You're doing great Lynn! And at least you recognize when items are no longer needed or used.
Lyn you are amazing!!! De cluttering and organizing is a full time job and then there is the quest for a clean environment. I find it hard to balance all of it together. Your Emma is just sooooo sweet! Praying for you and your family.❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
Thanks for this vid. I was decluttering along to your vid. I found whole torw of clorhes beneagh bags of ither clothes i have stored that I didn't realize was in there. I found stuff i hadnt seen in yeats knckuding maternity pants...any i havent been pregnant in over a decade. I found many clothes to donate. Thanks for all u do.
Hey Lynn! Love the video, but love them all❤. I always try to remember things you say when it comes to decluttering or faith. You are a true inspiration. Thank you ❤❤
I've been watching cleaning, decluttering, and organizing videos for years. I've been influenced during this time to use special products, tools, and organizing helpers. But, guess what? I've never put those special tools to use and now need to declutter even more. I finally started paying attention to the whys and how's instead of the things. Recently, I found a new use for a timer! Setting just a 15 minute timer starts motivating me and I'm now getting motivated to the tune of several hours. I live in an extra master suite in my son's home, but boy I can stuff a lot of stuff in here. So far, I've redone my linen closet, under my sink, my desk, my craft table and organizer, one bookshelf. I still have one bookshelf and the closet (the most overwhelming space) to go. I'm pretty sure I'm going to tackle it in sections. I really appreciate you and your videos for the encouragement you give. You keep it real. Thank you so much! ❤❤❤
Such a great video! You are a wonderful mama and the love you show is so important. By the way, you can sing!!! I'm so much older than you, but I have been avoiding my closet for months. Will start on it now! Have a wonderful day.
What a pretty rug under the desk. You are so awesome. Love you cleaning. Trying to get my house together after the last of our stuff getting here from our move. Nothing like getting rid of stuff when you can’t get it all to fit.
When it comes to hanging clothes, whenever I declutter I turn all my hangers backwards. Then, as I wear and wash and hang up clothes I put them back on the rack the right way. Then whenever you declutter your closet you’ll know for a fact what you haven’t worn because it will still be on the hangers wrong. Makes it easier to declutter with out needing to think about it, because you didn’t touch it for the season or the year. Then turn all the hangers backwards again and start over.
I hear you! I do feel guilty when I get rid (donate...) items that I've paid good money for-but I know I won't and haven't used it in a long time. I Enjoy your channel, thank you for sharing
Hi Lynn, when it comes to kids' toys, I used to overwhelmed them with toys. 1. I never got rid of the old ones, just the broken ones. 2. I bought everything they asked for Christmas and throughout the year. It became too much. Now they are adult. I worked with children for over 20 years. I learned that when out of sight, out of mind rule. That doesn't mean to throw everything out. What it means is to put all of their toys away in baskets in the closet somewhere by categories, by interests etc. Take a few out 3-4 toys at a time. See how much they play with them. If they play with them 5 out of 7 days in a week, then, its a favorite. Put it back in the closet, separate from the others. Next week or however far apart you want to do it, take out 3-4 new toys. That way you do a process of elimination. When you are done rotating all the toys and you still feel its too much, do it again until you find a comfort zone for you and them to manage picking up after. Also, make it a rule for Christmas, birthdays or any special occasion they get a new toy, in one? Out one. That way you have the same amount regardless. Maybe they will get so used to purging thst one toy is enough. Wishful thinking. Who knows?
You are wonderful as well! I’m always decluttering, I don’t want to leave a mess behind for my children(70 years) but I’ve always been what my kids called a clean freak lol it’s hard to live up to that especially as I get older❤
Here’s a tip for clothes- place all hanging items where the hangar hook is backwards on the rod, then, as the clothing item is worn and out back in the closet turn it back the right way- if in 6 months or a year there are still hangars hung backwards then it’s time to declutter those items. I do the same with folded items in the dresser- fold one way to start (I do the flat fold) and when worn, put back folded differently (I do the Marie Kondo trifold to stand up), and again, within a certain time limit eliminate from drawer. As for downsizing your wardrobe, set an amount for each type of clothing, like jeans- only 7 pair, dress slacks 3-5 pair, leggings 7 pair, short sleeved t-shirts 5, sleeveless 7, long sleeve 5, dress shirts 5, etc- THEN determine how many of each color for jeans, dress slacks, leggings- but they all must total only 7 pair of each, so if you want a white pair of jeans- do you really need more than 1 pair? Once the bottoms are done, then start doing the mix and match with the jeans, pants, leggings, skirts- where all your tops could go with any of your bottoms and keep doing that. I am not a minimalist where I have a total of say 30 items including g shoes and belts and purses, but I have minimized and like you said, you already spent the $ and it’s not going back into your bank account, so get rid of an item you just don’t like or doesn’t fit you or feels weird on you. I am down to 4 pairs of jeans, 4 dress slacks, 4 leggings, and 4 pairs of twill pants- the colors come out to be navy, black, grey tan/khaki and dark wash jeans, all my tops, sweaters and cardigans can be worn with any of the bottoms, I have 3 blazers- navy, black and houndstooth brown, all my shoes are flats (ankle issue) and I have 2 pairs of boots, 2 pairs each of exercise sneaker and work sneakers (they get replaced about every 3-6 months), 8 purses in different sizes all leather in black, brown, navy, 1 green, 1 black and red (think Loubatain showed with the red soles- the purse is black exterior and red interior that can be seen all the time), 6 belts, again leather in the basic black, brown in different widths, 1 white and 1 brown weaved, and one gold chain belt. Everything can be born with anything else- that’s the key to downsizing a wardrobe- not a one and done type of outfit that you can’t mix with something else. And I agree, start on the area that makes you cringe or quickly walk away from- start in one corner and work around the room until you are back where your started- whether that’s the far right corner or the most southern corner, work clockwise.
Hi Lynn, I am a older Mom and yes, I saved a good portion of my kids toys and books.. My kids are now 30 and 33. Now I am absolutely enjoying watching my grandchildren playing and reading with toys that their Dad played with, so don't be so quick to get rid of toys and books. You may be looking for something more from your house since your unexpected move.
You nailed it with your comments about simplifying children's toys! As a speech therapist, I often suggest to parents that they rotate toys so that the options are out of sight. Every change of seasons you can pull out the "new" toys.
I have one thought when it comes to what people give me. When they give it to me, it now belongs to me. Therefore, what I do with it is my business & that is vice versa for things I give to people.
I’m having a baby, our 4th, in November and I’m slowly trying to declutter our house because it’s just become so overwhelming. I’ve already gotten rid of so much stuff and there’s way more that needs to be gone through. It’s so challenging!
When it comes to the imposter syndrome, you can absolutely be an expert on decluttering and cleaning, but that doesn't make it easy to implement and constantly keep up with. Houses get messy because we live lives and have families. But that doesn't make you an imposter. ❤️❤️❤️ that's just being alive with people you love.
I have started getting rid of some clutter because of health, age and how our house is built. Our home is built in the side of a hill so we have to climb stairs to get to the living quarters so there will be a day we won't be able to navigate that. My health keeps me from being able to keep up with everything. I still have more to get rid of, but baby steps for me and my husband. I'm thankful that God has given us a wonderful place for now but we will probably have to downsize, especially down stairs size. I don't want anyone to have to sort through a lot of belongings because I'm not able to do it myself.
Usually I would never, but it was my mom. I was trying to do a better job of just picking up the phone and slowing down to talk to her. I’m always on the go and it’s easy to not catch up with your mom. But she just happened to call me while I was filming.
I have been working on decluttering my whole house most of all my bedroom. That holds everything I have packed away when I put my house up for sale and now I am finding myself not wanting what I packed away.
I find if I buy something I truly love I’ll be keeping it for years and years. Plus I also wear them seasonally Autumn/Winter I’ve had for three years and thank God they fit. I also have five tunic style dresses and I paid £50.00 each and because they are clothes they last forever and ever. I don’t do Tee-Shirts anymore because I’m in between jobs. It’s also five yrs nearly since I purchased those dresses. Everything I worked in was ruined so I donated them because I knew they get rag money. Plus when your not working you don’t have the funds to buy clothes. Plus I want to save for a new life

Wow, thank you! I do'n't usually consider myself a singer, although I did choir in school.
It is great to see someone really decluttering, for sure. Thank you.
I love how realistic you are. You show me all the time to give myself some grace… so thank you 🙏🏻 ❤

Kept thinking about you and your family during your recent weather event, hoping you are all safe....sending you lots of love always.
Great job decluttering and organizing! My two favorite things to do! I do consider myself to be pretty minimal but it's always a work in progress!
Watching your cute cat in the background 💝🥰supervising you 🤣

Thanks for this video Lynn. I’m going to keep purging my home of stuff I don’t need anymore. This was really helpful ❤️😀👍
Who knows?
Great info❤😊
You are wonderful as well! I’m always decluttering, I don’t want to leave a mess behind for my children(70 years) but I’ve always been what my kids called a clean freak lol it’s hard to live up to that especially as I get older❤
This video helped me so much! You teach me how to let go ❤❤🙏🙏 hurry up with the next video please 🙏
I love your videos Lynn! Thank you always! Love you! 🥰
Love this Lynn, you are so real 🥰

Completely off the declutter topic but do you know the name of your flooring? I love the color!!!
Hi! Yes :) Cali Floors SeaBoard Oak :)
Thank you so much.
New subscriber here👋🏻, love decluttering videos. 😊
Welcome to my YT family! So glad you’re here. 💕
And we didn't give them as many toys in the 80s n 90s....... the world has gone mad....
To quote Meghan Trainor "You need to let it go, just let it go" very good song to declutter too.
Singing with you, friend.
Great video! Thanks for sharing 😊
Hi Lynn! I just went over & subscribed to his channel, Meat & Jesus BBQ.😋 I need to declutter sooo bad! TFS! Blessings! 🙏❤️😊
Wonderful!
I really enjoyed your video! It motivated me to go tackle my closet. Question....where did you purchase your bedroom furniture?
Hey there, I got it from Ashley furniture.
You did a great job
You nailed it with your comments about simplifying children's toys! As a speech therapist, I often suggest to parents that they rotate toys so that the options are out of sight. Every change of seasons you can pull out the "new" toys.
Great great video. And great advice.
Enjoyed the video!! Very helpful. 🤗🤗
So glad!
Great Video
Glad you enjoyed it
Can you post the link of your pastors site?
Here it is :)

I watch a man that's adhd and Autistic I believe and he said to definitely take a 10 minute break every hr or less. Makes a big difference to me.
LOVE THAT!!!
I have one thought when it comes to what people give me. When they give it to me, it now belongs to me. Therefore, what I do with it is my business & that is vice versa for things I give to people.
I love that!!
I wish I could have a play date with Emma! She is just too adorable and fun 🥰💗
I’m having a baby, our 4th, in November and I’m slowly trying to declutter our house because it’s just become so overwhelming. I’ve already gotten rid of so much stuff and there’s way more that needs to be gone through. It’s so challenging!
You kill me I wish we lived closer 😂
HAha! I got rid of so much. I cant believe I kept it from the previous clean out.
I am like you... simplifying and managing are for me... I am not wanting to be a minimalist.
A small tip, get rid of all the extra hangers so that if you buy something new you have to get rid of something so you can have a hanger.
Are you on the phone while doing all this work????
Yes, there is only 7 days in a week. How many times a day do you change.
It can be, but remember, little by little and it will get done.
Girl! You need headphones, Bluetooth or something to talk on your cell phone while you are moving around. It was hurting my neck just watching that 😂
Usually I would never, but it was my mom.
