i love the vol 7s, i got the AE 1 but haven't played in them yet but they feel super promising
Ant’s shoes are ugly, but they’re performance beasts, and they grow on you. I get corns and toe blisters in the HV7s even when I go up a full size, which sucks because I love how they look. I love playing in AE1s the most, though. I don’t notice the weight, especially because my play style isn’t too jump heavy.

Just hooped in the AE1 for the first time today. 5’11”, 210lbs, patellar tendinitis in both knees. Athletic style of play, lots of cuts, jumps, & sprints. For me this is one of the best shoes I’ve ever hooped in, at least on the first wear. Definitely fluid with each step like you said. I felt a lot of impact protection, which is important considering my knee issues and play style. The cushion was really comfortable and responsive for me, not squishy at all. I think this is a top tier hoop shoe for everyone despite the weight, but I think this shoe is BEST suited for heavier athletic players who will barely even notice the heaviness… like an Anthony Edwards 😂. I also had a lot less knee pain after hooping in these compared to my Freak 4s and my WOW All City 11s . The super fluid motion of the AE1 + the thick cushioning kept my knees from taking a beating.

Dang near identical stats to you, along with knee pain and back pain at 37 years old. Your post might have made me try these. Weight doesn’t bother me, played in the Harden Vol 2 and Lebron 19 Highs. The cushioning was the main thing I’m worried about, particularly the forefoot thickness and impact protection (I hate court feel).
In your opinion which is better, the Zoom Freak 4 or the AE1?
@@cosimocavallo3823 For me the AE1 is way better. It checks all my boxes - traction, support, cushion, absorbs a lot of impact, fluidity, responsiveness. Freak 4 is a great shoe though especially for how much it costs on sale. It’s light, 10/10 traction, good lateral support & lockdown.

I hooped in the AE 1 for the first time and I am very impressed. I typically wear Lebrons which I have been noticing pain in my knees the next day. With the AE 1, I felt little to no pain. I felt more nimble and able to sprint down the court effortlessly. I'm waiting for the different color ways to go on sale to purchase some more for my collection.
Nice! Yeah I noticed that too, despite being a very heavy shoe “statistically” they give me some good nimbleness and agility.

Have my Vol.7 and it really feels good every time I hoop, and then with the AE1, I feel I might get a pair due to "performance and hugging feel, better than harden 7" but then came the Vol. 8 too. So I think I'll wait for your comparison video for Vol.8 and AE1, and hope its sooner

I’ve gotta go with harden 7s. I’ve got both. Hardens just feel so smooth under foot and imo are more comfortable. AEs feel bouncier and have better traction.

I use size 12 on nike basketball shoes, if I were to get the AE 1s should I go half size down or a full size down? Given that my foot is size 11.5 but It's hard to find 11.5 nike basketball shoes.

Im wondering if theres any chance for AE1 material to become brittle overtime. Im planning to get the AE1 but im afraid to torn those rubbery material if it becomes brittle.
So far it’s holding up well - I’ve been playing in the AE 1 the most out of all shoes recently, the only thing is the upper getting dirty easily.

do the ae 1s and harden vol 7 both fit true to size
The hardens are true to size for me, but the ae 1 fit wide in the forefoot. I haven't played in them yet but I tired half a size down and they feel perfect. So I would say harden is tts and ae 1 go half a size down imo
Harden 7 TTS can work but if I can choose again I’ll go half size down(normal feet)
