What method do you use to do so much damage on bosses? You seem to fire fewer projectiles, but they also seem to do more damage than regular bullets.

It's called double shot glitch. If you press Shoot and a directional button on the same frame, you shoot 2 bullets instead of one. You can easily make use of this by binding Up or Down to the same button as Shoot in the controls menu.
