  • The Democratic Alliance (DA) marched to Parliament against the Employment Equity Amendment Act - which it refers to as the ANC's racial quotas. The official opposition says it wants to put a stop to what it calls a growing racialisation of opportunities and resources in the hands of the ANC government.
The Act requires companies with more than 50 employees to submit employment equity plans, specifying how they will achieve the targets. President Cyril Ramaphosa signed the Bill into law in April.

Honestly, I feel like not everyone agrees with you, and which land are you talking about?. A lot of people want Jobs, less corruption, and a well-functioning state, at least statistics say. I think it is wise to select your words carefully especially if you stand and talk on behalf of the nation, We are trying to develop a working state together as a rainbow nation.

Do you know that the City of Cape Town spends 75% of its budget on uplifting and developing infrastructure in previously disadvantaged areas?

3:16 This clown literally doesn’t answer the question of how the DA would address issues of employment equity, instead he harps on about “addressing poverty at the lower level” with zero mention of legislative mandates specifically to address the legally Black , i.e. African, Coloured and Indian, middle-class who have no issues of living in poverty. In the flurry of statistics he mentions, I noticed he doesn’t mention that the Black middle class has risen substantially since ‘94 and is increasing annually, precisely because of these policies. By his own admission, he admits he’d implement policies aimed at that sector, which is effectively racial quotas because those policies would be in need more in one sector than another purely because of the historical realities his party is bent on denying exist. Their need not to legislate them as racial quotas means they can legislatively not commit to historical redress, which is one of the things Mashaba ended up fighting with them for.
The acronym DA does not mean Democratic Alliance, it means Denying Apartheid.
