Many things wrong: 1. I hate the idea of splits, in both ranked and now in the BP. I don't want to get reset, my ability to play is so off and on that I need the entire season to level up 2. Now it goes to a minimum of $20, but I'm sure the only things decent are in the $40 premium 3. Respawn's communication sucks ass, they need to be honest with the community. If you aren't making enough money to support the game, then just tell us and do some things that have a reasonable cost. 4. I'll pay $10 for the BP, no longer using coins, I'll pay $50 for an heirloom or prestige skin, I'll pay $10 for a nice skin. I won't pay $40 for a BP, $160 for an heirloom or prestige skin, and I won't page $25 for a single skin.
I would pay for stuff like that as well.... BUT I won't be buying anything since they refuse to take care of the cheating problem. I'm not gunna buy things to have fun to instantly die by people with walls and aimbot

I’m feeling the same way. I love the game and have gotten every battle pass and completed it. Being a dad though I have limited gaming time that if I wanted to complete the battle pass and get the reactive gun Apex was all I’d play. I’ll still play Apex more than any other game but there’s no grinding anymore 😂
@@devino1337the battle pass is crucial nowadays in basically any and every multiplayer pvp game because it’s something provides you bang for your buck and nearly every pass gives you your currency back to be able to buy the next one. Aka it incentivizes you to play and therefore be rewarded for it.

I started a bit later, around midway season 8, and grinded s9-s17 like I’ve never grinded a game before in my life. Then found myself slowly but surely playing less and less, then once they started the heirloom recolours, the events that had recolours of the same skin 3 times, the rewards in the Bp being absolutely dog shit, falling in love with a particular loadout/character only for it to be nerfed into the ground and become unusable; I enjoyed when they changed it up and added in classes, even loved the new Evo system it added a great new experience. But now with this battle pass bullshit, I’m afraid it’s coming to an end, my time with Apex and apex as a whole, worst numbers ever, no one is playing for fun it’s all 3 stack preds running turbo havoc in EVERY ranked match, I’ve made masters once and plat/diamond every other season, but now it’s either a Pred 3 stack or blatant cheaters and it’s FUCKED. Just wish respawn would put a bit of effort in. Like give us back stories from the Outlands. They were GOATED! I hope something is done because this really is the best shooter game ever made
On the topic of POIs being added, they are no longer doing challenge exclusive weapons during collectuon events. For example during collectuon events now, you can do challenges to build up a progress meter for some cosmetics. But in the early seasons, there were challenges built specifically to unlock certain cosmetics. Like the Devotion skin from the original shadowfall when it was all solos facing each other in season three

Not to mention the shambolic matchmaking. I played 20 games tonight. Recorded my time in game and it totaled to about 10 minutes. I have just over 1000 kills and have been playing for a year but am coming up against people with masters badges and tens of thousands of kills and it’s getting to the point where this game that I want to grind kills on is becoming impossible to play. I got three kills in these 20 games and every single time I was paired with two teammates who had no more than 100 kills between them, coming up against threestack masters and absolutely insane players. Let’s just say it’s not a good time to be a new/“bad” player

As bad as the BP is, people don't seem to consider the fact that the cosmetics don't matter if the game becomes unplayable. And servers seem to be worse than ever this season with crashes, disconnects, massive and frequent ping spikes. Then, performance, even on consoles, is somehow worse than before. The BP is atrocious but, even if there wasn't a new BP, more people should be questioning the purpose of buying ANYTHING for a game that is noticeably lacking background technical support to keep the game functioning properly and smoothly. Also, on the topic of cheaters... I played PUBG in the era of Chinese kids flying around in cars, blasting ads with speech to text for cheat services over the voice chat. I still think there are more cheaters in Apex these days.

I quit playing literally a week before 3 Strikes was added and have jumped into the firing range maybe twice since. I want to come back. But between the length of time I've been away, the changes, the cheaters and now this. My wife is going to actually blow our savings in celebration if I ever decide to uninstall Apex. This is tragic my dudes.
EA is the epitome of the need for infinite growth within a finite system that screws over most big companies within the gaming industry, Apex is about to suffer big time for it in terms of PR, but if they're moving ahead with this it means they crunched the numbers and found out that enough people are gonna put up with the new changes so that they do make more of a profit than the previous model of battle passes, what they don't take into account is how this is gonna screw up the players that just wanna enter a match. If it's already hard enough to fill a lobby as is, with the amount of people that are gonna leave the game next season it's gonna become so discouraging to even boot up the game.
I have like 10 heirlooms (don’t judge) before they made them even more expensive (and only got the ones I loved for people I play). Between the price of those now and the new BP increase EA won’t be getting any new cash from me.
I had 8 heirlooms and 4 mythic skins I had spent a lot in this game, last week I made the decision to contact EA support and have them permanently delete my EA account to ensure I never give them another penny of my money after I had an issue where I paid for 1000 coins and never received them in game and they refused to help me. 3 days later the battle pass news came out and I have zero regrets, I miss playing the game so much cause I love it but gotta stand by principles.

This game was a game that me and my brothers have bonded over. We have played for a few seasons in a row and I really love playing this game with them. We would always get the battle pass because if you bought it once and playing you would get the next one free. This no longer being available is really sad and I hate that EA keeps destroying the game I love. Please vote with your wallets and BOYCOTT THE NEW BP.

It's a crazy move even for the money hungry EA. I've spent about a hundred on this over time but I and all my friends won't be getting any new pass with this new change. It's not about just the money grabbing it's about player retention and the game is already struggling because of the cheaters. With this on top it's not going to encourage player's to keep playing.
I heard about the bp change just 2 days ago and for me its unbelievable how they are trying to milk the player base. I fully agree on everything you mentioned. For the matter of "it doesnt weigh much coming from you" I believe it weighs a lot. If you can get used to the feel of fingerless gloves, they help a ton. Sometimes, I use them when I'm working with small screws/gears/components so I don't keep fumbling them. I'd imagine they'd be okay for controllers to. Just keep washing them - or they start to work against you rather than for you.
Apex(EA) literally said to me in multiple email conversations that when I switched to playstation from xbox that I didn't do cross progression enabling. I recently switched back to xbox, but all my skins, characters, and heirlooms are now lost and no longer on my account... it sucks so bad because I don't have anything for apex anymore. They keep closing my cases and not resolving them, so either someone who works there stole the account info or they are not putting in the work to help out. I am a day 1 Apex Legends player and there is allot to unpack regarding EA/Respawn's behavior. Does anyone remember the account loss fiasco recently and their response? "Oh, sorry, That account is unrecoverable, here's some worthless Apex packs." Currently cheaters run rampant in all game modes, I remember spectating a cheater and they would almost instantly get banned right in front of me. Recently every time I am having a good game the server crashes. I know my internet isn't the greatest (Central Idaho) but the hit detection is atrocious. I would like to it region locked like PUBG so players can't game the ping system. (Oregon Servers are a hot mess, always packed with high ping Asian accounts.) This game has unique mechanics that are extremely enjoyable which is why the community continues coming back abuse after abuse, but they can only abuse the player based for so long before it leaves. I didn't play from September to February after the last matchmaking fiasco in season 16 or 17. I finished this seasons Battle Pass but don't think I will be buying another unless something changes. The new perk system was a step in the right direction but the overall condition of the gameplay is lacking. All this to say I am glad the content creators are calling them out on the cheating and generally poor condition of the game. Thanks for the great content as always! I almost never miss one of your videos.

I keep saying this. They make so much money season after season. The people targeted in the bp change are the ones that bought a $10 battle pass with the promise that they’d earn every pass after that. How greedy do you have to be to target those players, go back on your original deal and now want more than double EVERY SEASON from them now? There’s no justification other than greed. On top of that, like you said, the state of the game and actual gameplay content has tanked so any motivation to spend money is gone at this point. Also, they’re probably not sticking with the proposed battle pass changed, they already cooked up this monstrosity and a compromise that they can announce later on to make it sound bettter after everyone complains. As someone who’s spend thousands of hours and dollars on this game, IF I still play next season, I’m not buying anything, including the battle pass regardless of its final form.
What I would have been fine with (still not great but kinda acceptable) make it so that you can still buy the battlepass with apex coins, but make it that you don't immediately get enough coins to buy the next battlepass. Rather have it that every third or fourth season, you need to spend some money just to top up your account with the lowest amount of apex coins you can buy, and then you'll have enough coins again. It's still not great, but it would be better than the idea they had now.
No skin off my back. They stopped getting a dime off me a long time ago. Don't think I've ever opened season Apex packs up in about 6 months. Get rolled by a 3 stack cheater squad and the game just get turned off and I play something else. Not fighting city hall on this, but I won't put my game play time into this game as much either.
Lots of people grind and even play, when they may not have intended to, to complete their Battle Pass (for example, the 2 persons I play with mainly, not even myself). I feel like they would probably quit, or barely play, with such a change. We would feel like we are missing out or being robbed of something we have always had.... Less people active, and the subsequent increased wait times, would ultimately make the game less enjoyable for persons who would even opt to pay. Also, not everyone is American/Canadian/European. Forex challenges would make that USD$20 feel much more expensive to me and persons from lesser developed countries.....
Just the fact that they want to change the battle pass to where you can’t keep getting it with apex coins in this economy is ridiculous. Unless they double the amount of apex coins you get from for the regular and quadruple for the premium then it’s not a deal at all. Not to mention when this season came out I had 10 exotic coins because they gave us 10 but those disappeared and now I only have the 10 they just gave in the battle pass. They added that ridiculous new over priced micro purchase and now they are trying to do this crap. They only punish their players.

EA would not care if they lost half the community/player base. They shut down Battlefront2 and BFV support despite the opposition from hundreds of thousands , petitions etc all for BF2042. EA have showed and stated it multiple times before , they DO NOT CARE what the fans/players want or think. The $ comes first.
buying battlepasses has always been cringe. Paid cosmetics have been a cancer on games for over a decade. Customization used to be about expressing yourself, but paid cosmetics makes it into a way for narcisissts to show off their wealth. It's crazy to me how huge this uproar has been over a price increase on un-tradeable digital cosmetics.

As long as they don’t f with the core game, then I’m super happy with what continues to be the best online FPS video game on the market. Also being on console helps because fewer cheaters, but I definitely hear you on that one, makes your job wayyyyy harder. But we are still here for your content man, keep it up, game is still great!
As someone who wants to get the shards for the universal heirloom...I honestly don't mind paying 10-20$. It's what I'd pay for the shards anyways... With that being said, I'd like to use Apex coins still, I save em up to pay for the battle pass every season. Maybe if they just switched it back to where we could use coins still...that would work for me.

It pains me so much how they are killing their game. It has so much potential and i really love playing it. I think it all started with SBMM. I dont even know why SBMM should exist. And of course the greed for money is so bad. I dont even mind spending money, but it's the amount of money they want from you which is messed up. Other games (and i know this is comparsion could spark hate comments) but games like Fortnite do it so well. So many insane Skins and Collaborations for a very affordable price. Thats what they should do instead of trying to get even more money out of us when it comes to ingame transactions.

I have been playing since season zero, the state of the game has steadily declined as soon as the game became profitable for EA. I may just skip next season and see if they can turn themselves around.
The thing I don't hear enough hate for is the crafting materials. They are actually using crafting materials as a selling point for why the new pass is better. That's just peddling junk. Might as well offer one million legend tokens with it, literally fucking useless when you phase out the currency in favor of new ones. Like seriously, I don't know if you still earn legends tokens, but I have enough to unlock about 100 more characters should they release.
I really can't talk because I stopped playing a while ago. But EA is notorious for the micro transactions. Before the small cosmetics were ok, but now it's bad. As vocal as I've been for TF3 now I want Respawn to leave it alone. It is an amazing game but right now they would kill the next one with micro transactions. But the other side of this is that they NEVER patched to servers, they can claim they did but they changed passwords and certain things nothing major. It can be seen in the amount of hackers in Apex.

My biggest issue with the game is the cheaters. I am absolute trash and I don't do well against the hyperplayers with movement scripts, but add in zero recoil and amazing head shots that you can see In the replay that the crosshairs aren't even on my head. It makes me so sick to my stomach that I just can't stand the game or the community and have to walk away from it. It breaks my heart because I've been with Apex since the second year and no, I've never been a pro Player, I've never wanted to be a pro player i've always just wanted to have fun in the game but the level of I have to win at any cost so I'm going to cheat is destroying the game.

this is the fate of every piece of media with a big publisher or distributor. the money will do whatever possible to squeeze as much out before they discard it and even close the studio after. sure this may be long term and short term, but that's always the game and it's the shadow that the developers (who really do just want to make a good game) will always have to sit under and suffer. cost of living crisis or not if theres a way to redistribute more wealth to the wealthy its going to happen! It's not even strictly their fault, thats just the nature of capital
My theory is they are trying to tank the game so they can move on. They can't fix the cheater issue, can't fix server issues, don't have new ideas, so they are doing stuff to piss everyone off and drive them away from the game. Then they can focus on creating something new altogether. I don't know if that's Apex/Titan fall related or Star Wars, or something new entirely, but I think that's the end goal. They might even be trying to get dumped by EA to get control of the creative process again.

I got three kills in these 20 games and every single time I was paired with two teammates who had no more than 100 kills between them, coming up against threestack masters and absolutely insane players. Let’s just say it’s not a good time to be a new/“bad” player

@Kaizen325 nah its not just due to the price for me that would be ea being ea if it didn't have alot of other problems like them not fixing bugs anywhere near fast enough and the anti cheat is absolutely garbage I am not even a good player and I have cheaters in my lobbies when I play with friends on PC so can't imagine what it's like if you are in pred lobbies and stop playing and stop spending is the only thing I can do to show I am not happy with this as a consumer :/

As bad as the BP is, people don't seem to consider the fact that the cosmetics don't matter if the game becomes unplayable. And servers seem to be worse than ever this season with crashes, disconnects, massive and frequent ping spikes. Then, performance, even on consoles, is somehow worse than before. The BP is atrocious but, even if there wasn't a new BP, more people should be questioning the purpose of buying ANYTHING for a game that is noticeably lacking background technical support to keep the game functioning properly and smoothly.
Also, on the topic of cheaters...
I played PUBG in the era of Chinese kids flying around in cars, blasting ads with speech to text for cheat services over the voice chat. I still think there are more cheaters in Apex these days.
It’s actually hilarious that out of all the BS that EA has done over the years, it’s a battle pass change that has everyone so outraged. I agree people are focused on the wrong things.

I agree but I’ve never in 5 years of playing on the ps4 then ps5 encountered any of these issues except for servers crashing a few times
I quit playing literally a week before 3 Strikes was added and have jumped into the firing range maybe twice since. I want to come back. But between the length of time I've been away, the changes, the cheaters and now this. My wife is going to actually blow our savings in celebration if I ever decide to uninstall Apex. This is tragic my dudes.
EA is the epitome of the need for infinite growth within a finite system that screws over most big companies within the gaming industry, Apex is about to suffer big time for it in terms of PR, but if they're moving ahead with this it means they crunched the numbers and found out that enough people are gonna put up with the new changes so that they do make more of a profit than the previous model of battle passes, what they don't take into account is how this is gonna screw up the players that just wanna enter a match. If it's already hard enough to fill a lobby as is, with the amount of people that are gonna leave the game next season it's gonna become so discouraging to even boot up the game.

I have like 10 heirlooms (don’t judge) before they made them even more expensive (and only got the ones I loved for people I play). Between the price of those now and the new BP increase EA won’t be getting any new cash from me.
I had 8 heirlooms and 4 mythic skins I had spent a lot in this game, last week I made the decision to contact EA support and have them permanently delete my EA account to ensure I never give them another penny of my money after I had an issue where I paid for 1000 coins and never received them in game and they refused to help me.
3 days later the battle pass news came out and I have zero regrets, I miss playing the game so much cause I love it but gotta stand by principles.

This game was a game that me and my brothers have bonded over. We have played for a few seasons in a row and I really love playing this game with them. We would always get the battle pass because if you bought it once and playing you would get the next one free. This no longer being available is really sad and I hate that EA keeps destroying the game I love. Please vote with your wallets and BOYCOTT THE NEW BP.

It's a crazy move even for the money hungry EA. I've spent about a hundred on this over time but I and all my friends won't be getting any new pass with this new change. It's not about just the money grabbing it's about player retention and the game is already struggling because of the cheaters. With this on top it's not going to encourage player's to keep playing.

If you can get used to the feel of fingerless gloves, they help a ton. Sometimes, I use them when I'm working with small screws/gears/components so I don't keep fumbling them. I'd imagine they'd be okay for controllers to.
Just keep washing them - or they start to work against you rather than for you.

Apex(EA) literally said to me in multiple email conversations that when I switched to playstation from xbox that I didn't do cross progression enabling. I recently switched back to xbox, but all my skins, characters, and heirlooms are now lost and no longer on my account... it sucks so bad because I don't have anything for apex anymore. They keep closing my cases and not resolving them, so either someone who works there stole the account info or they are not putting in the work to help out.

I am a day 1 Apex Legends player and there is allot to unpack regarding EA/Respawn's behavior. Does anyone remember the account loss fiasco recently and their response? "Oh, sorry, That account is unrecoverable, here's some worthless Apex packs." Currently cheaters run rampant in all game modes, I remember spectating a cheater and they would almost instantly get banned right in front of me. Recently every time I am having a good game the server crashes. I know my internet isn't the greatest (Central Idaho) but the hit detection is atrocious. I would like to it region locked like PUBG so players can't game the ping system. (Oregon Servers are a hot mess, always packed with high ping Asian accounts.)
This game has unique mechanics that are extremely enjoyable which is why the community continues coming back abuse after abuse, but they can only abuse the player based for so long before it leaves. I didn't play from September to February after the last matchmaking fiasco in season 16 or 17. I finished this seasons Battle Pass but don't think I will be buying another unless something changes. The new perk system was a step in the right direction but the overall condition of the gameplay is lacking.
All this to say I am glad the content creators are calling them out on the cheating and generally poor condition of the game. Thanks for the great content as always! I almost never miss one of your videos.

I keep saying this. They make so much money season after season. The people targeted in the bp change are the ones that bought a $10 battle pass with the promise that they’d earn every pass after that. How greedy do you have to be to target those players, go back on your original deal and now want more than double EVERY SEASON from them now? There’s no justification other than greed.
On top of that, like you said, the state of the game and actual gameplay content has tanked so any motivation to spend money is gone at this point.
Also, they’re probably not sticking with the proposed battle pass changed, they already cooked up this monstrosity and a compromise that they can announce later on to make it sound bettter after everyone complains. As someone who’s spend thousands of hours and dollars on this game, IF I still play next season, I’m not buying anything, including the battle pass regardless of its final form.

What I would have been fine with (still not great but kinda acceptable) make it so that you can still buy the battlepass with apex coins, but make it that you don't immediately get enough coins to buy the next battlepass. Rather have it that every third or fourth season, you need to spend some money just to top up your account with the lowest amount of apex coins you can buy, and then you'll have enough coins again. It's still not great, but it would be better than the idea they had now.
No skin off my back. They stopped getting a dime off me a long time ago. Don't think I've ever opened season Apex packs up in about 6 months.
Get rolled by a 3 stack cheater squad and the game just get turned off and I play something else. Not fighting city hall on this, but I won't put my game play time into this game as much either.
Lots of people grind and even play, when they may not have intended to, to complete their Battle Pass (for example, the 2 persons I play with mainly, not even myself). I feel like they would probably quit, or barely play, with such a change. We would feel like we are missing out or being robbed of something we have always had....
Less people active, and the subsequent increased wait times, would ultimately make the game less enjoyable for persons who would even opt to pay.
Also, not everyone is American/Canadian/European. Forex challenges would make that USD$20 feel much more expensive to me and persons from lesser developed countries.....

Just the fact that they want to change the battle pass to where you can’t keep getting it with apex coins in this economy is ridiculous. Unless they double the amount of apex coins you get from for the regular and quadruple for the premium then it’s not a deal at all. Not to mention when this season came out I had 10 exotic coins because they gave us 10 but those disappeared and now I only have the 10 they just gave in the battle pass. They added that ridiculous new over priced micro purchase and now they are trying to do this crap. They only punish their players.

There is power in numbers. If just 1/3 of the apex population didn’t spend money on the game EA would do things differently. Instead people will complain and still spend the money, thus telling EA that we accept their greedy tactics
They must first sort out the hackers before trying to make changes to the battlepass ,they focus on profits instead of fixing the big problems

EA would not care if they lost half the community/player base. They shut down Battlefront2 and BFV support despite the opposition from hundreds of thousands , petitions etc all for BF2042. EA have showed and stated it multiple times before , they DO NOT CARE what the fans/players want or think. The $ comes first.
buying battlepasses has always been cringe. Paid cosmetics have been a cancer on games for over a decade. Customization used to be about expressing yourself, but paid cosmetics makes it into a way for narcisissts to show off their wealth. It's crazy to me how huge this uproar has been over a price increase on un-tradeable digital cosmetics.

As long as they don’t f with the core game, then I’m super happy with what continues to be the best online FPS video game on the market. Also being on console helps because fewer cheaters, but I definitely hear you on that one, makes your job wayyyyy harder. But we are still here for your content man, keep it up, game is still great!
As someone who wants to get the shards for the universal heirloom...I honestly don't mind paying 10-20$. It's what I'd pay for the shards anyways...
With that being said, I'd like to use Apex coins still, I save em up to pay for the battle pass every season. Maybe if they just switched it back to where we could use coins still...that would work for me.

It pains me so much how they are killing their game. It has so much potential and i really love playing it. I think it all started with SBMM. I dont even know why SBMM should exist. And of course the greed for money is so bad. I dont even mind spending money, but it's the amount of money they want from you which is messed up. Other games (and i know this is comparsion could spark hate comments) but games like Fortnite do it so well. So many insane Skins and Collaborations for a very affordable price. Thats what they should do instead of trying to get even more money out of us when it comes to ingame transactions.

I have been playing since season zero, the state of the game has steadily declined as soon as the game became profitable for EA. I may just skip next season and see if they can turn themselves around.

The thing I don't hear enough hate for is the crafting materials. They are actually using crafting materials as a selling point for why the new pass is better. That's just peddling junk. Might as well offer one million legend tokens with it, literally fucking useless when you phase out the currency in favor of new ones. Like seriously, I don't know if you still earn legends tokens, but I have enough to unlock about 100 more characters should they release.

I feel like apex might be the most lucrative game in history and they way they give back is crazy
I really can't talk because I stopped playing a while ago. But EA is notorious for the micro transactions. Before the small cosmetics were ok, but now it's bad. As vocal as I've been for TF3 now I want Respawn to leave it alone. It is an amazing game but right now they would kill the next one with micro transactions.
But the other side of this is that they NEVER patched to servers, they can claim they did but they changed passwords and certain things nothing major. It can be seen in the amount of hackers in Apex.
If content creators, which spend money on the game for content, are complaining. Then they have officially fucked up. I personally haven’t bought skins or battle passes since season 18
I came back after a year to find out they selling them tokens for gun skins for 40 damn dollars I was like oh yeah I’m not spending a damn dime on apex ever again lol that shit is soulless
Respond claims that they are splitting the battle pass for player quality of life by making it shorter but 2 battle passes a season at 60 lvls each makes the "full" bp 120 lvls. 10 more lvls than it currently is which literally contradicts what they say the purpose is

The amount of money I spent on this game because all the skins and drops were so cool, and now that's all they care about while the state of the game is absolute dogwater.

My biggest issue with the game is the cheaters. I am absolute trash and I don't do well against the hyperplayers with movement scripts, but add in zero recoil and amazing head shots that you can see In the replay that the crosshairs aren't even on my head. It makes me so sick to my stomach that I just can't stand the game or the community and have to walk away from it. It breaks my heart because I've been with Apex since the second year and no, I've never been a pro Player, I've never wanted to be a pro player i've always just wanted to have fun in the game but the level of I have to win at any cost so I'm going to cheat is destroying the game.

this is the fate of every piece of media with a big publisher or distributor. the money will do whatever possible to squeeze as much out before they discard it and even close the studio after. sure this may be long term and short term, but that's always the game and it's the shadow that the developers (who really do just want to make a good game) will always have to sit under and suffer. cost of living crisis or not if theres a way to redistribute more wealth to the wealthy its going to happen! It's not even strictly their fault, thats just the nature of capital
My theory is they are trying to tank the game so they can move on. They can't fix the cheater issue, can't fix server issues, don't have new ideas, so they are doing stuff to piss everyone off and drive them away from the game. Then they can focus on creating something new altogether. I don't know if that's Apex/Titan fall related or Star Wars, or something new entirely, but I think that's the end goal. They might even be trying to get dumped by EA to get control of the creative process again.
