i’m really not a fan of the dragons leaving, especially in the third movie. goes against the whole message of humans and dragons working together imo,
like, you won’t see us sending lions to a hole in the ground bc we’re done trying to protect them xD
I cried through the end of the movie, but for this series, I was emotionless throughout this scene. We know it will repeat because the developers aren't done milking this thing.
But that’s always been the story. Hiccup telling the story of why dragons aren’t around anymore. “There were dragons when I was a boy.” Was the first line from the books.

Heck if we are going by this logic the third movie wouldn’t even exist since in books
1. Light fury doesn’t exist
2.Dragons talk in the books
3. In the relationship between Vikings and dragons was equivalent of slavery(excluding hiccups treatment of toothless,the small dragon) which in the movies is the absolute opposite of the Vikings relationship with the dragons.
In the movie Vikings and dragons co-exist and benefit from each other while in the books the relationship is constantly portrayed as toxic for many reasonable reasons.(Master and Slave)
4. Toothless didn’t leave hiccup in the books. They stayed together UNTIL hiccup was an old man.
The dragons leaving also didn't take a few minutes. It took decades for them to slowly leave and even then hundreds stayed and still remain with us today however we can't see them since every dragon in the books can camouflage
5. Hidden world, movie settings and grimmel and most characters including Astrid NEVER existed in the books.

After all these centuries, the human world still doesn't deserve the dragons. This doesn't get less sad than what Hiccup and Toothless had to sacrifice

This hurts to see since its harder for them than it was in Hiccup's time. Back then in The Hidden World, most of the people in Berk were adults and knew that this was what was best for their dragons. Right now in The Nine Realms, the main cast are still just kids. They had to do something that Hiccup did when he was an adult, letting go
With Hiccup and Toothless, they both were fighting for a world that they wanted, only to see it can't happen because it was never meant to be, and set them free to fend for themselves
In Tom and Thunder's time, they both had to learn together about how this world's cruelty, and learn that the dragons can't come in peace without the cruelty of humankind
Despite what people say of The Nine Realms, there is one thing that's clear, and that is a bother to me
History repeats itself
Maybe the only humans who should know about dragons are those who are riders. That the secret should be passed down to family and trustworthy friends too. Because they will be the ones who understand deeply about dragons.

I didn’t even like this show. But this goodbye moved me to tears. HTTYD is a legacy and its message was carried into this show. I can see that. ❤❤
I knew that this would be the exact outcome of a future series if we were to explore dragons returning in the present time. In this universe, all the dragons have left, therefore the world has completely forgotten about dragons. Perhaps the descendants of Berk in the scandinavian archipelago still hold onto some legend, but by forcing us apart, the world is left completely unprepared for the dragons' possible return. The dragons 'returning in peace' is an impossible future. According to the canon of the series, humans and dragons cannot possibly coexist.
Wow. Talk about an enthusiastic, optimistic ending to a story about friendship and going against the odds in pursuit of peace! Hiccup, your foresight is 20/20. /s
This has been the best another dragon adventure I've ever seen. I thank you all again. History will never forget.
Wonder if they'll return in 2024 cause it will be good for the riders 16 and 18 years old and see there dragons again and make new friends and more dragon families and discover new dragons and new realms and discover more viking stuff and paintings

Even though this series ended bittersweet, Ending it like this was still for the best.
Because it's like the dragon riders have been saying throughout the whole series, The modern world is too dangerous for dragons. And if their existence was ever exposed to the modern world then people would hunt and or poach them in order to sell them for profit and experiment on them. Because there are too many Buzzsaws and Sledkins in the world.
So yeah, It's a good that they ended this show by copying the ending of the 3rd HTTYD film.
This is like what happened in Hiccup time line, Hiccup and his Dragon riders say goodbye to their Dragon’s, does his really need to repeat itself
One thing I don't understand is, this entire adventure basically amounts to nothing. Like I understand the discovery if dragons changes the characters themselves but unlike the original where they changed the world around them by fixing the natural problems. Most if not all the problems these guys face, they caused themselves
I agree. It was pretty disappointing. I think the main problem arose from the third film where they let go of their dragons for absolutely no reason. Here they do the same
@@MegaBond101 Grimmel was simply the straw that broke the camel’s back. One man managed to chase them out of their home, and they only barely managed to beat Drago’s army because of him. At that moment, with most of them drowning or burning to death, it was the best possible moment for Dragons to become a myth. Had the dragons stayed and attracted more attention to themselves, it would’ve only gotten worse. Hell, imagine if the Holy Roman Empire found out that Dragons were real and set their sights on Berk’s dragons. Hiccup’s age was one where Berk and its few allies were diamonds in a vast desert of coarse sand.
Which makes it all the more frustrating that this show, in the time of THE MODERN AGE for fucks sake, ended the same way. Now, we have much more widely coordinated conservation efforts, and protective laws for various species. Perhaps it would’ve been a bit hopeful, but it still would’ve made far more sense narratively to say that they were ready to come back. But nope! Now the whole series was pointless.

The whole series essentially was basically showing if Hiccup's final words in the franchise were "When Dragons can return in peace" and it showed they can't return yet, people aren't ready for dragons and it's clear because people like Buzzsaw and Sledkin wanted to hurt them or use them and pretty much proved it's not time for them to return
Hell even if with laws and protective services from governments, people will still try and kill or use dragons, heck if the government found out dragons existed I wouldn't be surprised if they took them and used them as weapons or experimented on them, or even sold them to black market places, people in real still even hunt endangered and protected animals to this day, so them not returning is very accurate and not just a simple history repeat

Don’t worry in the ending trailer did a really strong chance we get is saw a baby nightlight with a lightning on its forehead. It could be sunders sun and it could mean a new generation of dragon riders are coming and Tom MOM is working on a new project.

Also Alex tablet with pictures of her and Eugene. They looked at each other in the lair. And at the end, they agreed on the 10th realm and one last hug. They didn’t end as a couple but there’s a spark. And maybe in the new series when they’re older they get together, like Tom and Jun.

HTTYD 3: Emotional and sad, why? Because we grew up with these characters, and made connections with them when we were younger.
Nine Realms: Not too powerful, why? Because the creators tried to copy and paste the emotions in a low budget form... literally.
It’s always hard to say goodbye to the people you care for but history always repeats itself wether you like it or not the dragons don’t belong and aren’t safe because of People who will use them for the wrong reasons
It felt like deja vu when the Vikings say their goodbyes to their dragons in the past 😢

@@renemuz2568 I honestly think the ending of giving up on your dreams and releasing the dragons into the hidden world was a terrible idea in general. It was poorly executed and even the writer didn’t like doing it(deandeblois) he had originally planned for Drago Bludvist to be a crucial part of the third film but Universal forced him and his team to come up with something less dark since apperantly “no one would be interested in Drago Bludvist” so if anyone’s to blame for all of this it’s Universal. I’m pretty sure they’re also the ones that made Dragons: The Nine Realms and rushed both animators and writers for this project

While the nine realms series changed a lot and isn't exactly like the httyd we know and love, the bond between a rider and dragon will never change, a legacy of hiccup and toothless that stays with those future riders🤘😭🤘
Tom and Jun will return with their kids and show them the dragons and promise to keep the secret. Those children will carry on the secret and they will bring their children back too. The secret of dragons carries on.
This is the only possible outcome that can result from putting all the dragons away in a hole. How is the world ever supposed to become safer for something it doesn't even know exists?
Man, the thing that made HTTYD so badass is that the humans and dragons were willing to fight and overcome their adversaries because they were determined to be together. Now it's just sad.
What's worse, there will never ever be this perfect utopia where dragons can safely return, not just because nobody even knows about them but because there will always be some bad people no matter what. There's no way to continue this story because a world where nobody ever wants to harm or mistreat dragons simply doesn't exist. Almost like the whole point was fighting for their friendship.
So yeah, the dragons are stuck there forever.
Without Tom Thunder may have never had found his family and Tom would never have learned about the noble history of his family.
But the sad truth is an animal's habitat is only in danger when a human learns of it. The nine realms were an untouched world but one man's unhealthy obsession almost led to complete destruction and one one woman's greed and self pride lead to her demise.
The dragons left knowing that both their kind and the good humans would suffer for the worst of humanities horrors.
The sad truth of it all is that two intelligent and powerful spieces will never be able to coexist with eachother.

i missed it when i first watched it (couldnt really see anything with the river of tears flowing from my eyes) {yes im one of the few who actually really liked this show despite its issues} but i realized the dragons went into the fog/hidden world in the reverse order they bonded to their rider, except plowhorn and wu/wei. thunder, wu/wei, plowhorn, feathers and webmaster.

No matter what happens people will always see dragons as a threat,money or more,but letting them go and be safe is the right choice.Hiccup knew it was the right call to protect the dragons and Thunder knew it as well.Even though this might be the last time we see the dragons,but at least we know they will always be safe as they were all those years ago.
Guys why Hiccup live the dragon book in the nine realms, where's the map and where's the old dragon book. You see the old dragon book is the first and other is the second dragon book, but it really bothers me and i don't get it? However Tom's story aren't over, just like hiccups story. If the DreamWorks Dragons future will have a new series seasons so will have to wait the announcement, the Dragon Riders will return so the humans and dragons will coexist.
1 03 I just love how they acknowledge Sledkin was worse than Buzzsaw and the true villain of the series. And I knew Buzzsaw would go straight when I saw him looking at Dagurs picture.
I'm struggling to see how this is sad. It's probably meant to make you feel like that but it doesn't work.

Of course this is the ending that happened, I shouldn't be surprised that this would repeat the mistake of the movies. If humans and dragons are always going to keep parting ways, then mankind will never learn to live with dragons, so its just kicking the can down the road until next time the two meet to face the same problem with the same outcome. This really is a franchise that should have ended chonologically with the second movie, cuz everything that takes place after that? 👎

I remember seeing a scene where they shoved hiccup's peg leg into the mouth of a snow wreath and it broke into pieces. I was not happy about that.
Would it *really* have killed them to actually say that friendship between humans and dragons is worth fighting for instead of just sticking them in a hole (again)

I narrated the Audio Description for this show (at least on Hulu and Peacock in the US, I don't know if other countries/streamers have different Audio Description tracks)...and this was a pretty tear-jerking scene to record for.
Pretty funny how the characters point out how it makes no sense for them to separate after they succeeded as that’s the same problem with the third movie’s ending. I understand the point of things don’t last forever, but why do they keep doing this then? Hiccup said “Our world doesn’t deserve you yet.” Hiccup: AKA the most pure human when it comes to dragons, says that he can’t defend them (even though they did against the biggest forces imaginable)
If that’s the case, the world will NEVER be ready for dragons. Instead of the characters driving the plot, it’s become the plot driving the characters.
I know this was all done to end it the same way that the original books did, but two things, one, the books and movies series are nearly entirely different, and second, the books didn’t end with all of the dragons leaving. I hate it when writers decide to do something for the sake of the audiences emotions, regardless of how much sense it makes.
I understand why they let them go in modern era because people would profit off dragons or make them go extinct however I wholeheartedly agree on your statement about the third movie. No one not even the writers themselves thought it was a good idea. We must all blame Universal for forcing the writers to change their original script into this abomination you call “storytelling”

Thank goodness this series is over honestly hahaha, I will never understand why they didn’t make a show based between the 2nd and 3rd movies instead. Them leaving their dragons behind could never amount up to everything that was built in the original franchise.
Honestly feels as insulting as MLP a new generation after everything built in gen 5- to take a story and run it thru the dirt is pretty crazy when the original was so well loved. Doesn’t get much worse than that. Props to the animation team for trying their best with a dollar tree budget
