  • In today's video, I build a stand for Ciara's Yamaha P125 Piano keyboard. I use 3/4" WBP plywood and mahogany in the build.
    The Newer Yamaha P225 is available here: geni.us/Yamaha...
    The overall height is 640mm (including feet). The width of the side boards is 295mm. The overall width of the assembled stand is 1,320mm. The separation board is 160mm. Its length will be 1,320mm minus double the thickness of the material being used on the sides (IE 18mm + 18mm)

      Hello there my old friend from the homeland. I hope you are all okay there, Mark. The family genes have talent, but I did not inherit them. Can play 'After The Gold Rush' average enough with a struggle, but it does not come naturally to me. That is why I am betting my silver on Ciara.

      I reviewed the keyboard on my other channel (boopolo), and Ciara is playing 4 pieces. Best let her represent me. 😀

    I searched UA-cam to see how the Yamaha version of this stand works with the P-125 with intentions of designing my own stand as I too feel the particle board is not ideal. Your video was the first one I clicked on, not even realizing you were building a custom stand as I just clicked on one of the first search results. Great video and thank you for giving me even more information that I expected to find.
    You mentioned you were going to leave the measurements below, but I do not see them. Is there any way you could post and/or host a copy of your plans? If not, no worries as I can go take measurements off the Yamaha version at my local music store. Thanks again!

    Firstly, many thanks for your excellent video, Pascal. You have motivated and inspired me to make a stand for my instrument which I keep upstairs. Your daughter plays very well and has a good instrument to learn on. Thank you.

      Great. I advise to make slightly higher so it will be easier to fit the pedal unit. I fitted the pedal unit here: ua-cam.com/video/UoXmfO9WsXs/v-deo.html Thank you for watching

    Hey Pascal! This is just what I needed once I saw the piano stand of Yamaha and it’s cost for that. I couldn’t believe someone had done a video for it. That looks perfect! Much much love from India!

    How's she goin'? This was a nice project Pascal!! Nice design and well thought out and good explanation of why and how you were making it. Ciara did an excellent job playing the piano so that means the stand was a success!!! Take care!!!

      Hi there Mike. Thank you for watching. It costs $170 for the original one made from chipboard. The materials for this one made from WBP ply cost only $25, and is arguably better. Take care over there, and enjoy your summer.

    Hello Pascal and lovely family
    Bravo to the lovely Ciara, very elegant indeed! She will be the life of your parties in the future, kudos to you my dear Pascal for putting her on the right track by letting her learn music and play piano…
    You did your magic in "Building a Piano Stand for a Yamaha" too! Good luck and wish you all the best. Be safe, stay safe, and keep us posted! Best regards/Ned👍🍀👍

    I am pretty sure that if you had to buy the wood, your stand is about 5-10 times as expensive as the yamaha stand.

    • @IrishChippy
      @IrishChippy  8 місяців тому

      Not at all. I had the half sheet of plywood already, but the full sheet of WBP ply was only $45. It is 5 times better than the particle board on the Yamaha stand. Thank you for watching

      The problem with these mechanical scissor type lifters is they are not so good. There are some good ones but they are crazy expensive. If I build an adjustable one the lifting will have to be manual blocks. Thank you for watching.

    Great looking piano stand, so much better looking and quality than particle board. Kira's got a good dad and on her way to learning piano. (I noticed you started your vid playing first few notes of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody--way to go!!) Thanks for vid!!

    Easy...? With all the expensive toys you got in your shop. Anything is easy!😁

    • @IrishChippy
      @IrishChippy  2 роки тому

      Haha. All this can be done with hand tools and a bit more time.
      I do not have any expensive toys. The table saw is 7 years old and cut tens of thousand of feet, the band saw was my father's and he bought second hand 15 years ago. The drill press was made locally. I have for 7 years.
