I cannot say enough about your whole series of videos throughout Italy. It has been the gift of a lifetime for so many of us. Each city, each cemetery had a character all its own. From beauty, men following you, to noises that were other worldly this must have been the trip of dreams for you and maybe too much reality. Thank you so much Dan. It has been a sincere privilege to follow you, listen to your footsteps, the stories, the birdsong, the echos, the disasters and those still standing tall! Bravo to you! Touché, I salute you! ♥️☘️
This has been such an amazing series of videos with you in Italy! Thank you for all of your hard work and taking us along on this adventure! Can’t wait to see what’s next Dan 🏴☠️
These monuments to human frailty are lovely. And just walking along with you, if only in my heart, has helped me immensely to reconcile the mourning in my soul. Thank you. You are very kind to share your view of the mortal world from wherever you go.
What an amazing tour, Thank you Dan.. all those steps, as much as I would love to these old legs just wouldn't do it now, struggle with the gentle slopes of of our cemetery now.. 53 acres I used to wander round now down to a taxi as close as possible to where I need to go.
They know how to build beautiful monuments. You are so lucky to see them Dan and thank you for bringing it to us. I can't wait to see what is coming up next. What a shame the one that has collapsed I hope someone fixes it up.
If it's full, no money coming in for maintenance I suppose. Families move away, can't afford perpetual care (if available) or they just don't think about caring for the dead as generations in the past. Sadly full cemeteries are usually abandoned as this one appears to be. Still so many beautiful monuments.
These cemetaries in Italy are just so fascinating. Amazing artistry, sculptures, and architectual structures. Where and how these Mausoleums sit alone is incredible.
Beauty in marble and stone, absolutely awesome.❤❤❤thank you for these videos, I would love to have a small house in their cemeteries and live among the spirits.😂😂😂
Great walk Dan! I guess even being crazy rich doesn’t save you from the roof of your mausoleum falling in…. I love your videos but can’t help from pondering about the extreme excess!
That chair (2.56) is actually a prayer kneeler or prie dieu in French (and probably the same or similar in Italian) put there so that relatives could kneel and pray at the tomb.
The Italian stonemasons who designed and built these amazing pieces of architecture should be considered geniuses The city of the living dead Another top video 👍 Brendan 🇦🇺
After watching this video I have to agree with you about the water table on Diana's lake island at Althorp. Diana wanted to be cremated. Maybe she was and put into the church. I thought it was weird that Grecian temple memorial is made of wood. You said "movie set." Kind of a tourist destination giveaway. Wow! This Italian cemetery is insane! It's huge. It seems like it's divided by social class-- wealthy peope at the top of tye hill, middle class in the middle, lower class in the ground down below wher the people on the hill can look down at them; just something I noticed. The one thing I find scary is the bust sculpture on the wooden stand of the woman with the ghastly look on her face in the hanging masoleum. She looks like she's seen a ghost 👻 Thank you for the tour 😊
Such a shame that they let these cemeteries go into disrepair. Maybe you don't see any Italian cats because they only eat spaghetti and it's not spaghetti.😅
At: 12:03/17:45 There is the weirdest looking SKULL -- 💀 : It looks like right out of the movie Alien. Use a magnifying glass to see it better. Another great cemetery tour. I hope you made your train on time. (I'll be getting new glasses soon so I won't be needing the mag glass --ya!)Great ending!! Luved the music too!
When you think of all the money that was spent by the families here in this necropolis it is truly haunting and sad to see so much disrepair. I am sure most of them felt their monuments would be taken care of either by cemetery staff or their descendants. Unfortunately some families move or die out and often cemeteries don't take care of their properties uniformly. It's sad. It's haunting. It's thought-provoking. So many souls who walked the earth as we do now...all laid to rest here, in this lovely place.
In Italien wird es schwierig sein, einen zu finden, denke ich. In Süditalien habe ich es schon erlebt, das tote Hunde einfach auf dem Strand oder in ausgetrockneten Flußbetten lagen!😢
Hi there can I just say it's really interesting video but I have to say that it is absolutely terrible that a lot of the monuments to the dead I just left to fall down or to you know so I wonder if a lot of the people who are buried there I'm talking about their relatives and no longer alive themselves or just can't afford to fix them
There may be a time in the future when this type of monumental cemetery is no longer sustainable due to maintenance cost and eventually all the bodies may have to be removed and placed in underground places as in Paris and the area turned into a park or even become residential. But would you dare to live there? Actually thousands of homeless people squat in the vast Cairo (modern)cemetery and in Manila. Seen programs about it where in Manila people live in the ornate mausoleums (with approval of relatives of the deceased) They watch TV and even have little shops!

What an elaborate cemetery. It actually looks like a town. Just amazing. ❤
Like a giant outdoor art museum,
with a touch of creepy😳😊🌹
Such a shame that they went to all that effort to make it a beautiful resting place for their loved ones, and now its going to rot.
Thanks Dan ✌️
Thank you, Dan. These tours through these Italian cemeteries have been magical.
I feel your stress when you say you only have a certain amount of time to get to a station. Thanks for the dedicated work!
Wish there was a way to fix and keep all these gravesites and mausoleums up. They are beautiful art.❤❤❤
So True. Just majestic
Not a place I would want to be lost in!!!
These monuments to human frailty are lovely. And just walking along with you, if only in my heart, has helped me immensely to reconcile the mourning in my soul. Thank you. You are very kind to share your view of the mortal world from wherever you go.
Thanks Dan the whole tour was fantastic.
Entropy effects everything. Beautiful place still with all the damage.

It's decay, it's going back to nature, is beautiful in its own way.
These cemetaries in Italy are just so fascinating. Amazing artistry, sculptures, and architectual structures. Where and how these Mausoleums sit alone is incredible.

Beautiful cemetery Mausaleums are lovely. So sad to see a childs grave😢. Great video.😊
Such a shame that they let these cemeteries go into disrepair. Maybe you don't see any Italian cats because they only eat spaghetti and it's not spaghetti.😅
Remarkable topography for a cemetery, no wonder it's difficult to maintain

Wow its a vast cemetery.. glad you finally escaped😂
Dan, you walked so fast out of there. You must have been fuelled by a can of Um Bongo, or something?😁👍
I wish I had that much energy Ian ha. Had a train to catch but by the time I got there it was delayed anyway. Typical
We drink it in the Congo 😂

One wrong step and over the side you go! Be careful!!

Beautiful cemetery. Absolutely fascinating xx

Heard Vincent Prices voice, as you said you were looking for a way out,. But kept finding DEAD ends,,,,,THERE IS,,,,no,, Way,, Out....
Have you ever been to or heard of a Pet Cemetary and would you visit one if you haven't already?
In Italien wird es schwierig sein, einen zu finden, denke ich. In Süditalien habe ich es schon erlebt, das tote Hunde einfach auf dem Strand oder in ausgetrockneten Flußbetten lagen!😢

Yeah, if you couldn’t walk so loud, that would be great. 😉😂
Wonder how many elderly people are injured or killed claiming all those crazy stairs
❤❤
👍👍👍
RIP to Faggioni at the beginning
No need for a stair-master when you are touring Italian cemeteries! My legs would be like spaghetti after climbing all of those steps.

とても楽しみです。❤
Hello Dan
Them italians like to spend money on cemetery structures
But did you actually make your train? Haha.
What a waste of real estate.
But what a beautiful park. ;)
