One of the greatest ever lyrics censored by the BBC. "Gonna buy an air force base, gonna wipe out your race, get stoned in a different place, don't you know I got bad taste?"
Seen an interview with Sean and Bez, Bez saying how he'd love to go to Las Vegas....Sean says, "We played there, several times". Bez had no recollection of it at all! Love it! Happy Mondays one of my fave bands. Actually met Bez once.
@@jeannagai5290 yea as far as I know all top of the pops appearances were lipsynced. Some bands took advantage of that and made fun of it although examples slipped my mind.
Track reflects a carefree and rebellious attitude towards societal norms and expectations. The lyrics convey a desire for freedom and self-expression, rejecting the idea of conforming to a certain image or fitting into predetermined roles. The repeated phrase "Has to be a loose fit" implies a preference for something that is comfortable, unrestricted, and unconstrained. It suggests a rejection of rigid structures and a desire to live life on one's own terms. This can be interpreted not only in terms of physical appearance ("Don't need no skin type in my wardrobe today") but also in terms of behavior and choices. The lyrics also convey a sense of defiance and individuality. The references to going against the law and wanting more, despite having heard it all before, suggest a rebellious spirit and a refusal to be confined by societal norms. The line "Gonna buy an air force base, gonna wipe out your race" may be a metaphorical expression of breaking free from limitations, taking control, and embracing one's own preferences. The chorus encourages freedom of action, thought, and expression, emphasizing the importance of being authentic and true to oneself. It promotes the idea of doing what feels right, saying what you believe, going where you want, and thinking independently. Overall, "Loose Fit" can be seen as a celebration of individuality, freedom, and non-conformity. It encourages listeners to embrace their true selves, reject societal expectations, and live life according to their own terms
Very true, every video with either Shaun Ryder, Liam Gallagher etc you get the coke is a hell ova drug jibe, like every second of there life there doing gear, it does ya melon in ........
@@spencerglover1 oh yeah, like all jokes aside - Shaun was heavily addicted to heroin for literally 99% of the Happy Mondays' original time running - he even mentioned in his book that this particular TOTP performance "I think you can tell we're a bit off our heads during the Loose Fit perfromance on TOTP, we had just gotten back from Brazil and were all a bit fucked"

Gaz Whelan rolling his eyes near the end. The band were decidedly fed up by this stage.
They were loving it at this stage, there best selling album plus all the singles off pills n thrills were belters and did well....
@@spencerglover1
They were successful but had started falling out in '91. Bez and Shaun both say it in their books.
I took that to be his comment on being made to do a mimed performance
It’ll be cause on TOTP they had to mime.
3 amazing albums what a group and BG had 1 good 'un. For me the 1st one as John Cale was up. Bummed is a belter too
