- Day 1 on Dale Hollow was a toughie!! I started out deep panning and then later hit the bank for some bed fish. Just can't seem to replicate what worked in practice in the derby. Feels like i'm zigging when I should have zagged. Going to keep my head down and grind it out on day 2 and try to make this cut!

Hey mark I got a derby this coming weekend I’ve fished 2 straight days and hadn’t caught but 2 keepers I’ve have scope but I’m new to it so haven’t learned it good enough yet to catch ‘em what would you do in my situation been thinking about running docks all day that about the only I haven’t done any help

That’s why they call it fishing and not catching. Anyone who has ever fished competitively at a high level, for any length of time, goes through it.

We’ve all been in a funk but your stakes are much higher. Unfortunately, some of the lakes don’t set up for your strengths. It pains me to say this because you’re more of an old school fisherman but you have to do nothing but FFS in every tournament. It is what it is. It’s glorified crappie fishing but that’s the current game. I’m cheering you on.

Ya just can’t not scope unless they are on the bank ,, until scoping isn’t allowed ,, that’s the game now, some will find them , ya can’t bang the bank & keep up with them ,

Sorry Mark but the reality of pro fishing seems to be FFS. If you are not doing that 95% of the time you are probably not having high finishes or winning a tournament. I prefer the way you were fishing but for tournament fishing you are casting at a bank and hoping for a fish while the FFS fisherman are hunting/scoping and casting at fish they know are there. Good luck though hoping the best for you and I will keep watching.

You nervous of the live scope bro? You seem to do everything you can to avoid using it. Are you struggling with the concept? Some ppl have a hard time understanding all of the information provided on the scope. And struggle using it to there advantage
