Brilliant 👍 loved every minute of this, the variety of aircraft and different perspectives was excellent 👏 really hope to see more of these North African missions 😉🐪🏴
“ every single day I would see different aircraft take to the skies, I always wonder what adventure they are going off to do next. Each day I would hear the roars of the engines as birds of steel and prey hum over my heads. Every time I get a newer member of the crew, they would watch in curiosity. “Captain,” they would say, “ where are the binoculars, “I want a closer look.”
The Welton also have side guns in the triangle window as they do not have a top guner. The Welton is made like the hurricane with a metal skeleton covered with lining and painted with dual paint so it drys rock hard which means it can take a lot of punishment and still get home on one engine if necessary. My father was a navigator and weather metrologist for the the RAF and flew on Weltons from England then Egypt and India where he flew in Liberators from Mali-field Airport base.
I loved the walking with dinosaurs music I was half expecting something to breach out the water and munch up one of those boats when I first heard it😂😂
I don't think Red 2's heart was entirely in the war effort - "Oh dear my wing's been slightly scratched, I am so out of here. Good luck with the war chaps" 🤣
Great video, although I do miss your career vids, something about following a pilot and his backstory etc that makes it a lot more immersive than one off missions imo.
Great mission, I appreciate the variety of aircraft that you used. It allowed for different perspectives on what was going on. If I had a vote, more of this campaign would be interesting. Cheers.
I like to know his thought process as he plays, makes it more interesting. That said, I actually enjoy the role play a lot. Personally, I'd enjoy a mixture of both. Have on the fly analysis interspersed with in character bits.
never could grasp why the RAF stuck with the .303 in bomber defense for so very long right to end of war when you can see how ineffective they really were. That 110 flew thru an absolute rain of .303 bullets and was just smoking a little. Its not like they didn't have the .50 Vickers in the RN and on British tanks so the RAF could easily have asked for those as far back as 1930's
The AI on those Bf 110’s was awful. They just hung around at low speed inside the Wellington formation, and their shooting was generally poor. Not surprisingly, the Wellingtons shot them up pretty badly.
@@mikhailiagacesa3406 The literal Translation of Luftwaffe, is "Air Weapon". The Americans once called theirs, Army Air Corps; the French had the "Armee de L'Aire"[Air Army]. In any case, I was being literal. Only Austria and Switzerland might hav called their air units a "Luftwaffe", because they are Germanophones[German speakers]
And again in the Martlet you fire waaaayyyy too early - shooting about half your ammo at well. Nothing. If you are simulating real aeroplanes you'd have no ammo when it comes to the dogfight.
It's a shame you have to fly at sunrise/sunset to hide the terrible map textures in this game tho? It's a superb sim otherwise; needs community modding.
Epic crash of the year goes to that G.50. Love how the pilot bailed as the plane shot back up into the air after the initial crash.
Outstanding!
He must've left his teeth in the cockpit, after that impact.
2:20 Johnson there in the ball turret really feeling the effects of those stimulants
that first pilot to bail completely just wasted that Wildcat. He got knicked in the wing
Shooting those .303s at anything more than point blank range is like spitting into the wind.
The Wellingtons were equipped with .303s but the Martlets mounted .50s.

Great editing Taff.. Its again you a drawn in to see the outcome 👍
Nice to see Italian planes in a vlog. great one today loved it
Starting to like this series especially the story book narration keep it up!

Beautiful graphics.
Great job! Very compelling. Suggestion: filter your voice so it matches the other radio chatter.
Nice drop, good effect on target.
And the Wimpey sure can take a beating indeed.

Excellent Video, well executed and edited!
Loses the right aileron
I'VE HAD IT, BAILING OUT!!!
Amazing graphics.
the last crash was a little wonky and good job hitting the pilot in that g50 I've flown that in war thunder i remember that plane
LOVE the rollplay..tou should do it more!
Would love to see more Wellington raids.
Yeah she’s a great aircraft, I’ll definitely be flying it again

Damn I love a good ol’ riad

Love this format…really good stuff
That was a good one.
nice little movie once again
This will be fantastic in VR!
Love me some Dakka dakka
Those bombs killed hundreds of enemy fish 😁
Watched and 👍 Liked
Hey Taff how do you get to the bomb sight?
beautiful performance
Thanks
The most deadly and spooky part is the ghost manned AAA cannons.
The ones that start recoiling a good half second before the muzzle flash? 😉
It is possible to add ground gunners if you select the right option in the Full Mission Builder and the config files... Taffy may not know that.
That's one way to deal with a heavy fighter lol
nice video, I love the North african theathre, but the enemy AI seemed to be worse than a normal pilot lol
but they did shoot down a wildcat
So, the roleplaying was okay, but I think I prefer it when you just play the game and discuss what's happening as you do.

Made me miss the B17 vids
good ol jelly wellies
Perdón, añadieron bombarderos al final???? Se ve tremendo, es un mod??? No puedes usar las torretas delanteras?
Dcs is so much better videos are even much better!
The aircraft stress noises are from CFS3
Anyway, it fits.
@@foreverpinkf.7603 you'll be fine
And this is why the British transitioned to night raids
16m35s omg just wait for it best crash yet how does that even happen you got half gravity on lol
Enjoyed that
For me at least, the African missions seem to be the most enjoyable.
Good grief! Is it just me but is that not the most solid ocean you have ever seen? It has all of the impact characteristics of granite!
In the video title it says riad in stead of raid
Wonder if they would add ASW to the game depth bombing u boats hehehe
Fleet Air Arm
You should not overshoot. After flying an escort craft & then a bomber, you have the balls to ask,”Where the hell is our escort?”

What game is this?
Cliffs of Dover. The original game is Cliffs of Dover: Blitz. This is the Desert Wings: Tobruk expansion.
..and in reality, Wellingtons were wiped out more times than not. Those twin pop-gun turrets were useless.
The AI on those Bf 110’s was awful. They just hung around at low speed inside the Wellington formation, and their shooting was generally poor. Not surprisingly, the Wellingtons shot them up pretty badly.
@@timonsolus Yeah, I set up a scenario with AI Ace emils against Poor AI defiants, emils couldn't shoot straight, most defiants survived. UG!!
Hold on a sec - are you playing with other people or is the AI responding to your voice?
No, just timing.
Funny....... hit ground hard enough to lose the engine but could still pull the shoot after the bounce
awesome episode, TF though need to work on AI physics there were a few questionable Axis piloting skills there lol
I do find it annoying that night bombers have to operate in daylight in these games. It does put them at a severe, non-historical disadvantage.
BUG OUT MAN BUG OUT
"German Luftwaffe"? Who else has an air force called "Luftwaffe"?
Everyone; because it translates as 'Air Force'.
