I have been following this build as I have an interest in scale models and this is the first model, I have ever seen being built very skillfully by a lady model builder. Ship building has always fascinated me, but I never got beyond the rowboat class ability. When we got to this video, I was just taken back by the extreme skills with the rigging work I was seeing just incredible talent, the best I have ever seen in my 83 years, and I have seen many. Olha is like no other in skill, presentation, care, and artistic endeavor.
With all that above there is something else Olha is doing that many may not have noticed. Her demonstrations, filming skills, editing, background music is so far ahead of any other UA-cam poster by miles, unbelievable and should be the standard by which all other posters are measured, one extremely talented lady.
WOW!
Thank you very much!
@@OlhaBatchvarov I do totally agree with that statement Olha !! You really are the best and I do mean it.
Schiffsmodellbau vom feinsten!!!.Ich binn begeistert.
Vielen Dank!
The ship is magnificent... The rigging exquisite!!
Thank you very much!
Wow, muchas gracias!
As always, this is again a stunning presentation of your outstanding skills Olha. I absolutely enjoyed every second of it and I learned a lot about the complexity of the rigging that is involved with the sailing ships. Thank you for presenting and showing this great work and your outstanding skills.
Thank you very much!
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@OlhaBatchvarov oh yes I absolutely enjoyed it, like every video.
Olha, this was like surgery.
You, my lady are VERY good.
Love your videos.
Thank you very much!
Another great video you are a master craft lady, I really like your work
Thank you very much!
Obrigado
Obrigado!
Absolutely fascinating, I will watch this video many times. Thank you Ohla!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Simply amazing!
Glad you think so!
Olha, for your knots what type of glue do you use, is it regular super glue, if so is it the. medium set or slow set? Again another great video.
Thank you!
It was just a regular super glue...
Cпасибо!
I admire your dexterity and your attention to detail.
Your Pinta is really beautiful, it's a master's job.
Thank you so much 😀

hello, how often does the "Word"oops come into play whilst doing the rigging?
Never)))
👍👍👍👍
It's really nice to see you work. I really enjoy these videos. Excellent!
Thank you!
Glad you like them!

That was wonderful Olha. Loved how you rigged the yard arms and the sails. Thank you Olha can not wait until the next issue 😊.
Thank you! 😊
@@OlhaBatchvarov olah you are welcome.
Stunning as ever 👌
Thank you!
Great movie! I admire your craftsmanship and knowledge of ship rigging. You are amazing! A beautiful ship model!
Thank you so much 😀
Nobel prize for shipmodeling
Thank you!
Truly gorgeous and very, very impressive work on the Pinta!👍👍
Thank you very much!
If you want to learn the definitions of all the nautical nomenclature that Ms. Batchvarov so helpfully puts into the closed captions (which you should definitely turn on), there's a book by Dean King titled "A Sea of Words: A Lexicon and Companion to the Complete Seafaring Tales of Patrick O'Brian".
This book describes, along with a huge amount of other stuff, what the clewline, lifts, buntlines, halyards, sheets, leeches and a whole lot more are used for in a sailing ship. I'd also recommend the "seafaring Tales of Patrick O'Brian" as well, you may know of one title in the series, "Master and Commander". The movie picks and chooses a bunch of bits from about 10 of the 21 books in the Aubrey / Maturin universe for its plot.
I am now re-learning all the terminology with ships - in English)))
I have a wonderful book for this "The Rigging of Ships in the days of the Spritsail Topmast" by R. C. Anderson (ua-cam.com/video/C4M7G0POd6o/v-deo.html)
In addition to the entire collection of books by Patrick O'Brian , I also have a book with drawings of his ship SURPRISE, you can find it here:

Really nice clove hitches!
Glad you like them!
Excellent ! just make a better quality video about rope making, the previous one is bad. The ropes are just perfect, I have never made such a twist, even after waxing. Greetings
I just use polyester thread to make ropes...
Thanks for yet another great video, much appreciated. I have one question: what type of glue are you using to freeze the rope ends since it does not change the colour of the rope at all, or at least i dont see it? Or is maybe the rope type/kind? I was using a white glue to avoid rope discolouration but it takes more time dry comparing to a CA. Thank you again..
Thank you!
I use 100% very tight twisted ropes, then the CA does not change color. This is the thinnest CA glue!
I build a 1:12 scale model of a gaff rigged wooden boat I am thinking of building and did not do the rigging as I was kind of worried about it but after watching you do the rigging on this ship I have nothing to worry about. Bet you could do it in about 15 minutes. You do outstanding work and your attention to detail is second to none.
Thank you very much!
Magic Hands! Even after lots of modeling experience I can’t come close to matching your dexterity… Cheers!
Thank you so much 😀
Excellent work! La Niña is looking very good! Congratulations, the rigging details are great!
Thank you!

@@OlhaBatchvarov yes indeed, my Le Cygne is approaching the masting phase...

Thank you!
Another stunning build! Your skills impress me every time, and every video I learn something new! Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work!!
Thank you very much!
Hi Olha, the thread that you wrap around your finger to create the "knots", what type of thread do you use, I have tried it with ordinary cotton (50% synthetic) as well as waxed cotton and none have worked. The cotton bunches up and knots itself before it is anywhere near getting small.
I use 100% Polyester Gutermann Tera 180 - they are thin and "slippery"
@@OlhaBatchvarov Thank you, I'll see if I can get that or something similar here in Brisbane.
Hi Olha, I looked through my wife's sewing cabinet and found three spools of Gutermann 100% polyester cotton, two red and one navy blue (310). Experimented a bit and found that four wraps is the key, bunches up with five and more wraps, studied your video carefully and saw that your wraps are all four. Lastly, the subtitles are great but they sometimes hide what you are doing at the bottom of the screen.
@@cliffwall6593 To be honest, I have never tried to do this with cotton threads but after your experiment - I will also check in practice)))
P.S. Subtitles can be turned off - at the bottom right is the "СС" button...
Incredible precision and patience, but most of all the knowledge of the correct execution of the rigging. Compliments :-) Best regards from Berlin
Thank you so much 😀
Olha, when you attached the blocks to the deck with the "eyebolts," how did you keep the eyebolts from coming loose? I can't believe how effortless you make tying the rigging with tweezers look! It's like you've got (too) _many_ years/decades of experience doing that (though that's hard to believe ;) (*definitely* no insult intended here!). Also, I noticed that when you threaded the lines through the sail, the ends were not frayed -- do you have to treat the "thread"/lines somehow to prevent fraying?
I glue the eyebolts with CA.
You guessed right - more than 11 years of experience)))
And the end of the thread is impregnated with CA glue, because every time before I cut a piece of rope I use glue, because otherwise it will untwist. So I didn't even pay attention to it and didn't show in the video what I did with it. I will show this in the next video...
Teabone Bones just hit the nail! You have excellent skills, very good presentation of all the little details and the model so far. Looking forward to the next videos!! Keep up your great work! Alle the best from Vienna!
Thank you very much!
Your work is truly amazing!
Thank you so much!
@@OlhaBatchvarov you're welcome 😊
Prelep rad ,svaka cast
Hvala!
I love rigging, it's always one of my favorite parts of a build and it adds so much to a model. It's fascinating to watch you work.
Glad you enjoy it!
Such a pleasure to watch your process. Especially having been raised a marlinspike sailor.
Thank you very much!
Think I enjoy the fact that you have so many people about the globe as into your tender loving care to the running gear of this vessel than the impact its having on the look and feel of the ship. The articulation and deft you put into every segment is nothing short of amazing, and shows just why every hand aboard this ship really must be on their guard to keep the running rigging in such a way to keep her out of harms way. A ships master is something to be held in some esteem. Wonderful work. I truly hope this reproduction gains you immense honors. You've earned them fully.
Thank you very much!
@@OlhaBatchvarov your most welcome my friend.
