AK thanks for this video. My Dad is a WWII Navy veteran, who was luckily not on the Arizona. I went to this memorial in 2015, due to the winds being so high that day we, were not allowed to take boat out to the Arizona memorial. So, you're up front and personal view of the memorial, made my day. My dad and I watched your video together. Dad is 97 and he has been to the memorial. I only hope I can have a chance to go back one day soon. I am 73, and may not make it back, so thanks again for the upfront and personal view.
Hi Barbara, Believe! I hope to visit my daughter sometime this year. I'll have her take me on this amazing tour. I'm 76 years young. You can do it! 😊 🙏
I appreciate you making a dedicated video of the USS Arizona Memorial, AK. I visited Pearl Harbor and majority of the historical sites, but USS Arizona Memorial was closed for repairs at the time. I took the ferry ride and felt the poignancy of the tragedies when it circled around the perimeter of the memorial. It's even more moving seeing it from your perspective inside the memorial now. Thank you for sharing this video, AK. 🫂 PS - Daniel, thank you for the shoutout in the chat. 🫂
I don't usually comment, but I wanted to thank you for this video. You were very quiet and solemn while at the memorial, showed us what we wanted to see, and left the viewer to consider their own feelings. Respect.
Thank you for showing us your visit to the USS Arizona Memorial. I've seen many, many of your videos, but this is the finest one you've shown. War is a terrible thing, and as an Army veteran who served in Vietnam, I can say that and understand what I am saying. I think it's fitting that one can see the USS Missouri, on board which the Japanese signed the surrender document ending the war, from this memorial to the event that brough us into it. Again, many thanks!
It was nice to see the memorial site of U.S.S Arizona yet sad too at the same time 😢Especially the Rememberance Wall brought tears to my eyes ,still i appreciate the opportunity to see it 🙂Thank you for sharing A K 🙂👍!!!
A very emotional and moving experience; thank you for making and sharing this video. I don't believe I will ever see this Memorial in person but the video has such a strong, emotional impact.
US military personnel active or retired can get in for free. its something Pearl does to help plus the military base is still active. you simply show your veteran card or Military ID at the parking area and ticket booth. several vets actually are at pearl explaining what happened and their experiences during the war. they are volunteers with the park service making sure the history won't sink as it were.
Thanks for your video, brings back memories. As an Australian Navy sailor serving on H.M.A.S Melbourne our small aircraft carrier, we were in your country in 1976 and some of us went to this very humbling memorial site. So sad , all those very brave men. May their rest in peace. Love for Australian.
Good Saturday Afternoon My Friend IAM Hoping That You Are Having A Enjoyable Day I Really Appreciate You For Educating All Of Us On Pearl Harbor 3:15 This Is So Interesting As Always Thank You So Much For Inviting All Of Us To Walk Along With You In Honolulu Hawaii And Visiting The Pearl Harbor Documentary 4:33 Much Blessings And Love Always Ms British Gray From Tampa Florida 😊
One of the survivors of the USS Arizona, Donald Stratton, wrote a book entitled "All the Gallant Men" about how he survived the explosion and managed to escape the ship. He suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns over 65% of his of his body. It's an awesome story of guts and courage and is available from Amazon's book section. He was there on the first day of the war and managed to be in Tokyo Bay on Sept. 2, 1945 to see the end of it.
Elvis Presley colaboró en la construcción de este monumento tan maravilloso para honrar la memorial de los hombres que murieron allí...es una bonita historia...chequen videos...
It is my intention to get here in 2025 from the UK so this was a very useful way to be prepared. Difficult to imagine that terrible day the way it all looks now. Thanks for posting.
I always wanted to visit the Arizona Memorial. I'm not sure if I'll ever make it there. Thank you so much for this video. Now, at least, I got a little taste of what it would be like. Just in case I never make it there
Well done as always AK. Very moving. Thx. Admitting stupidly - I must be the only one - didn't realize what we were looking at above the water surface. Had to look it up in some other photos and vids. Yes, I am an idiot.
My mother is 86 years old and can remember this announcement on the radio. Still horrified by the fact that the newscaster told that the men were heard tapping trying to communicate, letting those on the outside know they were trapped inside. Then it went silent. She said she can still smell the coffee on the stove boiling, as the family heard the devastating news and ran to share it with those nearby with cries of disbelief and tears.
Honestly I'm not from the U.S., but I felt like many people who visited the site in the day of this video weren't really being respectful at all. Like just for 1 example, dude's just feeling one up at 33:50, I'm sure the deceased would love to see that on top of their graves if there's an afterlife.
You haven't met too many Sailors and Marines have you? Odds are good, in life, most of them would have been wolf-whistling and cheering the guy and gal on. For myself watching this all I could think of was wishing I could see the names on the wall more clearly than was show in the video.
Excellent video. I can't help wishing that there were some way this important site could be free for everyone to visit without all these fees fees fees, but logistics and expenses no doubt make that impossible.
German national here... To this day I struggle with one question: Why? Why did Japan attack America? Why did my own native Germany attack the Sowjet Union? Were these people not able to read a simple map? It has once been said that Russia could have stopped the German advance simply by throwing peasants in front of the tanks until they got stuck in the mangled bodies. Grisly as that picture is, there is some truth to it. And just when we thought we were finally over it, Putin kicks off a second cold war, with China hot on his heels. Why is it that the mighty cannot help themselves kicking off conflicts that a school child could tell them they cannot possibly win? I hope and pray that one day even the mighty will learn to care for what they have instead of lusting for things they cannot possibly gain.
34:08 WTF? How dare people treat the wreck itself as some wishing well! How disrespectful! It's a war memorial and a national cemetery! Not a f-ing wishing well!
Being AUS navy veteran And having spent a great deal of time studying the history of the attack on pearl Harbor in the tragic loss of life I would say that a $7 parking fee to go out to the Arizona memorial it's not even worth mentioning so do us all the favor and stop sounding like they're trying to rip you off or something I'm kind of curious as to what you actually knew about the Arizona or the pearl Harbor attack before you make this video hopefully you learned a little respect while you're out on the memorial
I think it is just a horrible Travis Steve how little this generation has been taught when they were in school about World War 2 and the incredible wave that that generation gave so selflessly And had but one goal and that was to support our country
You would kind of think people would be a lot more respectful... Just a fun family outing with plenty of kiddos playing and influencers taking selfies above a mass grave, eh?
What kind of scum you need to be to put a pontoon over the place of death of thousands of sailors! This situation is outrageous! The souls of more than two thousand sailors rest there! And there is no place for tourists there! Everyone who wants to see this historical place of the tragedy, let them hire a helicopter or plane and fly around, but the pontoon must be removed from there immediately! Respect those who died in the USS Arizona!
Keep in mind there's somewhere around a 1000 men entombed in the Arizona But while you're out there making a video to make money off of on UA-cam selling phone cases and coffee mugs Maybe you should donate some of that money to the memorial fund
So the tickets are free but there is processing fee of a dollar. So its NOT free and it cost a 8 dollars. One dollar for the museum and 7 dollars to park. Come on Museum stop playing games!I'll tell you what IS FREE, the National Museum of USAF. That's FREE.
Thank you for bringing back this historical memory to us…
You’re welcome! Thank you for the support.

As a Navy vet, I had a chance to go to Hawaii to see to USS Arizona Memorial what an honor!!

Thank you for this ak! Literally goosebumps while watching this 😢❤
You’re welcome, thanks for watching!
Enjoyed that Pearl Harbor Memorial video. It made me go back and research the detailed history of that day. War is horrible.
Much appreciated, it’s such a sad moment in history.
Thank you Ken for showing us USS Arizona Memorial 🙏
Thank you so much for this video , I appreciate you covering this part of your visit , I was really looking forward to it ❤

Anyone can visit for free. Making a reservation is $1, and the parking fee is $7. Unsure how much the bag storage fees are.

Great video. Going to Pearl Harbor next year and this helped familiarize with the whole walk through process. Thanks a lot.

Good Morning Ken and friends... Wow, this is some tour. Thanks Ken, I didn't know there was a boat ride there. Enjoy your Saturday 😊
You’re welcome. The US navy brings you to the memorial on a military vessel.
@@ActionKid Wow! Thanks again! I want to take that ride 🚢

Thank you for making this video. It was very well done and informative. 👍
Impressive pictures that say so much without words. And which show how senseless war is. Thank you for this video and best wishes from Saxony/Germany
Thanks so much action kid. Very beautiful and touching.
You’re welcome
Happy Memorial Day!
Thank you very much 🙏
I went there back in October of year 22 and it was something to see

❤️👍
Update the last surviver of the uss Arizona pass’s away recently on April 1 2024
At 102 rip
Ricordate che è stato Elvis Presley che ha donato il denaro per la costruzione del Memorial.

Some families don’t teach their kids about the war prior to visiting the site most likely. Or they are too young to realize they are at a grave site.
i cant believe how shallow that water is, but the japanese overcame it and sunk it.
The girl on her phone...so disrespectful..good job parents
Looks like its a sovinuor from Japan
"See what this is all about"? really?
Japan... couldn't go against their warlords... On the day this plan was decided, they... had no veto power.…
need polaroid glasses
Lids & Shades worn at the the memorial, especially by servicemen/women seems inappropriate.
So shallow. Could have been raised in one week and bodies recovered. Shame now just an environmental hazard
