I enjoy hearing the subtle adjustments various Pros make specifically on buzzers. I’m always ready to make slight adjustments in my lure when the bass tells me what mood the bass are in. But then isn’t that with any bait.
Dude I enjoyed the heck out of that,, thank you so much for those tips,, I have fished a toad on my buzzbait for years but never thought once bout doing that and I have had so many misses cuz,, well legs were to far back,, I truly appreciate it when the pro's are willing to take the time to give advise and tips cuz I know you all are super busy but it shows it's more about the sport and keeping it going than it is about the money,, don't get me wrong money is important but not as important as this great sport of fishing is,, so again thanks
Buzzbait tips from the master thank you! I love your accent buzzbaits, I also like to take the pliers and alter the shape of the flat side of the rivet.
That rod is awesome for night-time smallies. Spinnerbaits and buzzbaits. I switched to 15 lb. Advance Fluoro for a little more stretch...way fewer lost fish. It is a great rod
See now… this is exactly the kind of crap that gets me out in the garage at 10:30 at night! Love it J-Wheels! I just so happen to be going out tomorrow morning and here in Maine… that topwater is about to pop off. Thanks
Love buzzbaits! First time I threw one, I caught a bass on first cast. Got a 7.26 lb largemouth just three weeks ago on a Strike King Bleeding Buzzbait in black & red, no skirt, a Zoom 8” Lizard in a Junebug/red flake as a trailer. Rolling it over lay downs w/steady retrieve and the toilet flushed! I’ve never tried the toad trailer yet, but I will. Try a lizard trailer. It seems to work well.
My go-to secret during the bluegill spawn is a green pumpkin buzz on sunny days, black any other time. Bass will maul it in 6” of water in the June sun, or over 30’ in crystal-clear water in December. One of the all-time greatest inventions in fishing lures, second probably only to the crankbait (plug, in the day).
Thats a very good case for why you should always have a soft plastic trailer however i did catch a 5.5 the other night on the buzzbait that wouldve missed it if i didnt have a trailer hook
I have a couple of your accent buzzers still in the pkg... I haven't took them out yet cuz I just didn't have confidence in the buzz bait but the tips help for sure... I just need to tie it on and give it a go. Thx man
Love your channel. Even though i’m a Clanton, Al boy, You just broke the tie between you and DC! I love that you take the time for a few simple technique lessons. ( Don’t tell DC, I’d hate to hurt his feelings, you know how sensitive he is!)
Good stuff bro!! Do a flipping video! What knot you use depending on which line.. What type of line for different water clarity.. Weigh size.. bait style.. Would really like to know when you think it is or isn’t good to use braid when flipping. Personally, I’m in Oklahoma flipping buck brush and lay downs mostly. What would be your ideal setup for that situation? Thanks dude keep killin it!
I’ve used just the krackin craw itself as a Buzzbait burning it across topwater real fast… caught my best bass of the summer doing it like that to be honest!!! Got the proof too!!!
My buzzbaits keeps turning on its side... I always thought there wasn't enuff weight to help right itself... wouldn't trimming some of the head off exacerbate this prob?
Hey Jacob, when throwing the buzzbait/BuzzToad, do you throw it in open water or do you throw it right up into the slop? I live in florida, so lots of emergent grass/slop in shallow.
I caught my first bass on a buzz bait yesterday morning, it was about a pound and this morning I caught a freaking3-1/2 pounder out of an old pond that no one likes fishing anymore because you have to walk through the woods to get there!
Fish ponds and my number 1 go to bait is your accent buzzbait right out of the package.. caught my biggest so far this year a 4 2.. what an explosion.... unreal...
Jacob, do you, or anyone else that reads this, ever have an issue with braid slipping down to the head of the buzz bait. Had it happen to me not long ago on a big bass. Never had it happen on fluorocarbon.
Use a knot that doubles through the "eye" like a palomar and it should help fix this. I actually prefer a San Diego jam knot, but for spinnerbaits and buzz baits I just double the line around the "eye" first before tying the rest of the knot. Braid is slippery enough that it doesn't affect how well it cinches down and it gives the knot a little extra grip on the wire.
You always have good content, sonny jim! If we are talking algorithms, you should find out what deadbeat clicked the one thumbs down and give them a talking to! 😂
Pure genius. Heres the issue if u wanna call it one. Jacob you cost me another hundo at academy. But on the plus side I kill them here in south Houston. Keep them coming.
Man I'd find where the local jackpot tournaments are held and what night they go out and go hang around for a weigh in or two and just ask questions. Be courteous but ask questions and if your lucky you might find all sorts of ways to get involved.. Also fb can be a good resource for local bass fishing clubs and just see what kind of events they are involved in and if they align with your goals then reach out to them to see how to get involved.
Appreciate the advise! I took what you said and started fishing a local tourney which led to me making a high school team near me. The first tournament is at Dayton 500 international speedway on Lake Loyd I’m so excited!!!!
I really like the small lessons on how to properly use different baits and different ways to rig em. Thanks Wheeler!
Just caught my first buzzbait fish in geist reservoir. I'm addicted now lol
Ain’t nothing like it is there!!!
Thanks so much for demo on rigging that frog!!!! Very informative
Jacob, thanks for the video. I especially like the tip about making the the head of the spinnerbait thinner so the hook can be farther back.🐟🎣
I enjoy hearing the subtle adjustments various Pros make specifically on buzzers. I’m always ready to make slight adjustments in my lure when the bass tells me what mood the bass are in. But then isn’t that with any bait.
Solid tips Jacob. Tow things I would add is one crimp the rivet behind the blade so it does not move and changes the sound. Second add a trailer hook.
outstanding tip. can’t wait to go next time and try it out
I hit thumbs up before I even watch The video. Your videos are just that good Jacob. You are the GREATEST BASS FISHERMAN OF ALL TIME.
Slow down.
@jimmywallhanger8402 Well, can I at least say he is the greatest MLF fisherman of all time ? 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Great tips JW. Can't wait to try these. Thanks again from Western Kentucky.
Thank you so much for making this video, the buzz bait is by far my favorite lure, have caught many biggins on it
That rod is awesome for night-time smallies. Spinnerbaits and buzzbaits. I switched to 15 lb. Advance Fluoro for a little more stretch...way fewer lost fish.
It is a great rod
Great tips Jacob, keep 'em coming!
Awesome information! Thank you.
Of course!
See now… this is exactly the kind of crap that gets me out in the garage at 10:30 at night! Love it J-Wheels! I just so happen to be going out tomorrow morning and here in Maine… that topwater is about to pop off. Thanks
Great information. Im working on improving my skills with buzz baits.
I use my oscillating saw with sanding attachment and round off the head. Works great. 80 grit
Awesome idea im going to set up some of my buzzbaIts with bandito bug and toad.keep making these videos they will help us catch more bass.
Great content! Moved to Florida and this helps a lot. Got any crankbait videos? Need a new set up.
Just got my first Duckett rob and reel and it’s a game changer man! Tight lines
Do the same thing with the ol cheap-po buzzbaits at academy. Buy a hand full and rip all the skirts off and put creatures on them to match the colors.

I have a couple of your accent buzzers still in the pkg... I haven't took them out yet cuz I just didn't have confidence in the buzz bait but the tips help for sure... I just need to tie it on and give it a go. Thx man

Great video I learned a lot .Thank you
Great video Jacob I loved the content, learned alot, thanks

Have not seen that Accent buzz at Academy yet come on Jacob getter done.

Good stuff as always JDub
You should do one of these on crank baits be super helpful
Cool deal , thanks
Dude I guess you don't know so I'll tell ya. Any piece of information that a fisherman of your caliber gives out to help us is greatly appreciated.
Jacob, I'm a huge fan of yours and wish you continued success. One question - any reason for a trailer hook on buzz baits?
Love your channel homie
AWESOME TIPS!! This is why you are the best out there!! :-)
I like a thicker wire anyway just bc more surface area for the blade to squeal
Hey Jacob what kind of frog do you like to put on your buzz bait
Good info thank you!
lots of value, Thanks
I’ve used just the krackin craw itself as a Buzzbait burning it across topwater real fast… caught my best bass of the summer doing it like that to be honest!!! Got the proof too!!!
Love the tips & how to videos
Thank you
Great quality
I thought it had to be up top Splash in the water but you were pulling it slow underwater is that correct
Hey Jacob, what do you use to store your buzz baits?
Love the content, keep it up sir!
Great video!!
Thanks buddy
Amen, Tennessee Native.
Throw it everywhere Caught em on buzzbait on bare banks
This is a great buzzbait rod, but if you night fish this is a great for for a big black spinnerbait.🎣
How do you decide which one to throw?
On your rod with 50 lb braid, what type of leader if any?
Been waiting on this one.
awesome jacob i fish your rods religiously, congrats on your last durby man!
I caught my first bass on a buzz bait yesterday morning, it was about a pound and this morning I caught a freaking3-1/2 pounder out of an old pond that no one likes fishing anymore because you have to walk through the woods to get there!

Put on that big game son
thanks for the vid 💪🏽
Jacob, couldn’t you just take a course file and reshape/remove some of the lead head? Lead should shape really easily and quickly. Love the content.
what dia. wire use.

Buzz KING
good stuff!
Thanks ,you remind everyone of some guy they once knew but can’t put their finger on it.LOL
You always have good content, sonny jim! If we are talking algorithms, you should find out what deadbeat clicked the one thumbs down and give them a talking to! 😂
Is that your crank bait rod or just a reg mh?
Pure genius. Heres the issue if u wanna call it one. Jacob you cost me another hundo at academy. But on the plus side I kill them here in south Houston. Keep them coming.
How did you get started in the bass fishing tournament world
Man I'd find where the local jackpot tournaments are held and what night they go out and go hang around for a weigh in or two and just ask questions. So it's 3/8 but it's 5/16
my favorite buzzbait just catches them.
Dig it!
Is it just be or does Jacob wheeler have gigantor hands??!! Lol big hands, big bass??
Great video sir! Thanks for the insight. Hey when you cut down that head (assuming it’s lead) please don’t put it in your mouth!
Any alternative rigging techniques aside from licking freshly cut lead?
