I love Tangerine Dream. And I'm always glad when I hear someone mention them. They deserve so much more recognition.

Noob question: it's not shown in the vid but is there a DAW in this demo or just the keyboard and synth with some monitors?

Hi, great video. Could you please explain to me how did you set it up with your DAW? I've got the same midi keyboard and I use Ableton Live but can't make it sound yet. Thanks

      To connect the devices:
      1. Turn all units off.
      2. Connect the Streichfett´s audio output 4 + 5 to
your mixing console or your computer audio interface. Optionally connect a suited stereo
headphone to the Streichfett´s headphone output
      6.
      3. To play the Streichfett you need a MIDI master
keyboard. Connect its MIDI Out to the Streichfett´s MIDI In 2.
      4. If you want to use a computer with a MIDI interface, connect your interface´s MIDI Out to the
      Streichfett´s MIDI In 2.
      5. Optionally you can connect the Streichfett´s USB
port 3 with a USB cable to your computer. After that, the Streichfett is automatically available as a
MIDI device and will also receive power via the
      USB connection.
      6. Without a computer, you need to connect the
USB power supply that came with the Streichfett
to the USB port 3. After that, the Streichfett is
      ready for work!
      7. Then switch on the computer (if connected), the
mixing console and finally the amplifier or active
      monitor speakers.
      The USB Connection
      :
Using a USB cable you can connect the Streichfett to your
computer observing the following system requirements:
      • Windows PC: Windows XP or newer is recommended, a USB port
      • Linux PC, a USB port
      • Apple: Intel Mac with Mac OS X 10.6 or newer, a
      USB port
The USB connection of the Streichfett allows:
      • Power supply via USB when connected to a suitable
      computer
      • Power supply via the USB power supply
      • Transmitting and receiving MIDI data
      • Dumping of firmware updates to the Streichfett
      • Data exchange with suitable computer software or
      another Streichfett
w Make sure to use a fullspeed USB port on your
computer as well as a USB compatible cable to
      avoid problems with data transmission.

An external USB power supply is included. It may be powered from a USB power bank or directly from a USB host device that supplies USB power. bhpho.to/3fwRWCv >Mark

I have a question. What is the Midi in and Midi out for? It's: USB to computer, then you have to connect keyboard's midi out to Streichfett's midi in and also viceversa?

Hello there! This is a very interesting product but, can it be used with ableton in order to modify sounds in the software? I would like to use it with Ableton but I can't find any ways to set it up and how it works (if it does).

You can definitely effect it in Ableton, if you have a soundcard you can record or stream the audio from any synth into any DAW.

so you can use the Akai mpk with the Waldorf Streichfett standalone into a amp without any pc?

    • @RRivesNYC
      @RRivesNYC 10 років тому

Hi Dehmanization001. We did in fact use a computer in this video, but it's on the right, just out of frame so you can't see it. The computer is powering both the Akai MPK mini and the Waldorf Streichfett.

    • @Dehumanization001
      @Dehumanization001 10 років тому

RRivesNYC So was you using a pc program to control the midi to it or just using the pc to power them and then hooking the Akai to it from the midi out?

    • @RRivesNYC
      @RRivesNYC 10 років тому

Dehumanization001 I used Logic to control the MIDI information between the MPK and the Streichfett, but you could use the DAW of your choice.

Exactly right! Connect to a controller and then to your amp - No PC required.
Connect the Streichfett ?s audio output to your mixing console or your computer audio interface. Optionally, connect a suited stereo
headphone (or active monitor speakers) to the Streichfett ?s headphone output.
To play the Streichfett you need a MIDI master keyboard. Connect its MIDI output to the Streichfett ?s MIDI Input. If you want to use a computer with a MIDI interface, connect your interface ?s MIDI output to the Streichfett ?s MIDI input.

what is the midi out for?

    • @BandH
      @BandH  3 роки тому

The MIDI Out is to connect to the MIDI input of an interface or controller. The MIDI I/O may also be used to exchange data between two Streichfetts. >Mark<
      Connections:
In order to get started with your Streichfett you will need
an power outlet or a suitable computer with an USB port.
For the connection of the audio output you will need
either a mixing console or an audio interface. You can
also use a suitable headphone. Last but not least you will
most likely need a MIDI master keyboard.
      + To connect the devices:
      1. Turn all units off.
      2. Connect the Streichfett´s audio output 4 + 5 to
your mixing console or your computer audio interface. Optionally connect a suited stereo
headphone to the Streichfett´s headphone output
      6 .
After
      11 Streichfett Reference Manual
that, the Streichfett is automatically available as a
MIDI device and will also receive power via the
      USB connection.
