  • In this video we’ll show you Kuramayama / Kurama (鞍馬寺 / 鞍馬), Kyoto.
    Kurama is a very famous spiritual site(パワースポット) in Japan. There are many mysterious legends on this mountain, and this mountain is thought to give power to the people who visited this place.
    The houses of the residential areas follow on one from the other and the city becomes further away. Behind the first reliefs, the mountain can be made out. Greener, grayer, the suburbs pass by along the Eizan Line that leads to Kurama, north of Kyoto. Half hike, half walk, the municipality, which is named after the Kuramayama, whose summit rise up to 542 meters, above all offers some temples and a nice hiking trail.
    * We used "Osmo Action" this time.

    Thank you so much. I visited Kyoto (and Japan) for the first time in 2015 then keep making a trip to Kyoto every year. Yet never been there. The video gives me a good idea about the hike (ease/difficulty) so I could see for myself. Rarely did I go up the hills, 吉田山 was the only exception and I don't think 詩仙堂, 高台寺, 清水寺would count. Well, I think I can make it. Maybe grab a walking stick from Daiso. Apart from helping me assess the accessibility, the video is highly enjoyable. Thank you again.

    いいところです。一歩一歩噛みしめるようにして散策したいです。烏天狗にもあって、二言三言話が出来れば、、、
    しかしこの急勾配の石段が続くのはきつい。

    Is this place near to the city?

    • @Tripig
      @Tripig  3 роки тому +8

      Not so close to the city center, but also not super far I think..
      Kurama is connected with central Kyoto by Eizan Railway. The one way trip along the Eizan Kurama Line from Demachi-Yanagi Station to Kurama Station takes 30 minutes and costs 430 yen. Trains depart every 15-20 minutes.
      The fastest way to reach Demachi-Yanagi Station from Kyoto Station is by taking the JR Nara Line to Tofukuji Station (150 yen, 2 minutes), where you can transfer to the Keihan Main Line to Demachi-Yanagi Station (270 yen, 10 minutes).
