These are not surround speakers of 4.1 but just a 2.1 with 2 extra satellite speakers. Check out creative 4.1 speakers.
I bought them day before yesterday and they are awesome and just place the speaker in four directions and they will give u surround sound effect and they bass is having depth in it plus the treble audio is crystal clear

F & D 520/521 is worth in it's price... Bass is also good. Sony D40 is also very good speaker with great bass but it is little bit costly. So finally both are good at their prices now all depends on your budget for the speakers.
