My mom has asthma and she's had some serious incidents due to it, sometimes coughing until she has to throw up and being sent to the ER several times, so seeing Ethan's condition gradually get worse throughout the video was actually scary. He said he had lighter attacks not long before and the bad air in the car obviously didn't help with it either. Seeing him barely being able to stand or talk, i felt so bad for him. I kinda wished the boys would've taken it a bit more seriously because he really was close to passing out there, though i also understand that a lot of people are just oblivious to how serious of a condition asthma actually is. I'm also glad he put a little bit of awareness in this video because sadly there's still so many people who just don't understand how scary an attack like that can be and that it actually can be life threatening if triggered and not treated fast enough.

I really liked those additions that he added in as well! He did a live stream a few days later going more in depth as well. It would be super scary to literally not be able to SAY how much trouble you are in because of the thing that is hurting you. I agree that it seemed like the boys thought this was similar to some smaller attacks Ethan had before and probably thought it wouldn't be a big deal. They seem like the type of ppl that will be much more on alert for him now though.

i was actually so sad to ethan like that i just dont think the other boys understand how bad asthma could get Ethan said harry texted him after asking if he was home yet and felt bad after hearing Ethan had to stay a few nights in the hospital

Its such a scary thing to not be able to explain how much trouble you are in! Plus I'm betting he has probably had smaller attacks around them and been okay after a bit so they probably just thought it was that. I was so glad to see that he was okay after. Even a couple days later on the live stream with Faith you could see he was still having trouble talking. The good thing with the boys is you know with them having ppl like Tobi and Vik (and probably Harry) they will be more on the look out to help him in the future.

My mates were a bit like the boys in this video when I had an asthma attack while living away at University (they were all boys too). They made fun saying "just breathe" and "imagine struggling to do a basic human function" but that's how we joked with each other and it didn't bother me. I had 4 episodes in a week and ended up in hospital each time. Had 2 ambulances (needed 3 but it was a busy night and they advised me to make my own way to hospital) and the last time, I was actually working in the hospital and became ill during my shift so was taken to the emergency department and was admitted overnight. Had 2 weeks of steroids, new inhalers and loads of oxygen and nebulisers while I was in hospital. Haven't had as bad an attack since (2019). Just the occasional one requiring a nebuliser and steroids, but not 4 in a week. Latest flare up was actually last week and just needed my inhaler luckily after I was checked out in urgent care. I wouldn't wish asthma on anyone, that feeling when you're struggling to breathe, you're seeing stars and your lips, fingers and toes are tingling from lack of oxygen and you're struggling to just stay awake and gasping but getting nothing in. It's horrendous.

I can't imagine how awful not being able to breathe (in an otherwise normal situation) must be. Outwardly it looks like everything should be fine to others like you said, but there literally nothing you can do to "fight" it off. You can act tough with a broken bone or something, but this is so much worse. I'm glad to hear that you are okay! I hope you don't have to deal with anymore episodes that dangerous again. Even just having to go to urgent care is scary!

@OrvieWoah The worst situation I had that was similar to an asthma attack was a blood clot in my lung. I was on chemo at the time and developed sepsis and was practically bedbound from being so ill and on loads of drips/fluids/painkillers/oxygen, etc. I remember ringing my mum as I did every evening (I was only 16/17 at the time) to say goodnight and struggled to breathe while talking to her. I had a pain in my chest and couldn't move at all, let alone catch my breath. At least with the asthma attack, it wasn't so much painful and I could still move, but with this blood clot, I couldn't move at all and it came on so quickly and I was in agony and couldn't breathe. I remember the doctor coming in, pressing an alarm and loads of people rushing in and wheeling me out of the room. Woke up the next morning with my mum next to me (they paid for a taxi for her to come to the hospital as there was a chance I wouldn't make it). Honestly, I still remember the pain in my chest and not being able to take a breath. It was awful. You're spot on with what you said about the broken bones; I can deal with the pain of it, but even though asthma attacks aren't as painful (for me anyway), it's just the panic that you literally can't do the thing that is keeping you alive. I think that panics people more as well and they work themselves up more which in turn, makes it worse. I think I'd rather a permanent broken leg than a severe asthma attack again.

I wasn’t able to leave the hospital until I was 4 years old because of asthma. My uncle died in the room next to me from it when visiting , my friend died because his family didn’t take his attack seriously so he ended up curling up on the floor of his room alone to die and his last thoughts being nobody cared. I’ve almost lost my life more times than I can count because of asthma. Asthma can just be something small or it can be VERY bad and quickly fatal plus everything in between. The way everyone reacted was very scary because if Ethan were in a life threatening situation , he WOULD have died. He’s very lucky that it wasn’t quite bad enough to cut off his airway completely. I don’t think any of them realize that if it were a life threatening attack , he would have had 0 chance since. Your oxygen is cut off so you can’t just take what they say. If they say no to pulling over. Why the fuck do you just take that answer? He can’t think clearly so be caring and think for him. They would have all had their friend die while the last footage of them together is them making fun of it.
