    Alex is well aware of Jan’s grappling superiority. However, Jan isn’t known as a grappler. He was a dominant champion with the “polish power” title given to him. He was known as a striker. He became champion as a striker. He defended his belt as a striker. He will try and go for a takedown and will catch a knee. Easy money for pereira. And sure Jan beat Izzy, but tbh Izzy looked smaller than Jan. Pereira is much larger than Jan. It was a miracle how he could make it to 185 considering he walks around heavier than Jan and Jan can’t even make 185. Pereira walks around at heavyweight numbers when he’s not cutting weight.

    the only thing is that Alex's chin seems a little suspect. Even in the fights that he won vs izzy, he got wobbled and 2 times he got saved by the bell. If Jan can land something then it might be lights out, and thats not even considering Jan's wrestling. Alex's length and power have been a big factor in his success, but when you're up against people with much better wrestling and grappling, that advantage diminishes.

    • @themadman6667
      @themadman6667 10 місяців тому +3

      @@livinglife1089weight cut hurting chins is a myth. Here's my explanation: In the 2nd Alex vs Izzy fight (glory) Izzy rocked him bad because he hit his left ear. Same thing happened in the 3rd fight and the last. The exact same spot is rocking him. His chin in general is fine. That 1 weakness is something he never fixed. Look at all his losses and it's clear that his chin is just fine. I also would like to mention that khabib nearly died during a weight cut and he arguably has the best chin in lightweight history. I think people either have a chin or they don't. If their chin gets cracked, it's usually because of accumulated damage or you hit the exact sweet spot.

    I think izzy would naturally want Alex to win bc they are each others great rivals. If Alex does well going forward in his career izzy will bask in some of that glory and vice versa.
